How should the ark have been transported? According to instructions from God, which includes the Levites...

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law? The made the assumption that they knew. It did not eradicate the fact that they directions were there for there discovery and implementation.

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will? It is not just a good idea, it is the only idea when seeking to do God's will; inquire of God. "If a man wants wisdom, ask God..."

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13) How should the ark have been transported? How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law? What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's

will?

The Ark should have been carried only by the Levites who were set apart by God for that purpose.

David in particular should have enquired from the books on how to carry the Ark of God. He is therefore responsible for the punishment meted on Uzza.

David's mistake teaches us that we should know the Word of God and obey it to avoid punishment that may arise from disobedience.

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13)

How should the ark have been transported?

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

God had given Moses elaborate instructions on how the ark was to be transported. Very briefly, the High Priest would take the veil, and use it to cover the ark of the covenant. On top of this was placed a protective covering of skins and then a cloth of blue. Then to help them carry the ark, wooden staves were put into the rings on the ark enabling four men (Levites) to carry it before the marching nation. These instructions were overlooked and the ark was disrespectfully transported on a cart, similar to the way the heathen Philistines had done. God is a God of order and is concerned with details and expects His instructions to be carried out. Just like ignorance of the law, today in our society, is no excuse; both Uzzah and David had no excuse. You would expect them to have known the Mosaic Law concerning the moving of the ark, or have been able to get proper advice from those in the know. We see when David moves the ark the second time he has looked up the proper procedures to follow and he now has a new respect for God and a keen awareness of His holiness. David’s mistake teaches us we are to take God’s Word seriously. When God's work is done God's way, in obedience to God's truth, it will never lack God's blessing. And God's blessings come from a life right with God and a heart that is yielded and obedient to Him. Also it reminds us that we are not to take on God’s work light-heartedly without proper training or instructions.

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13)

How should the ark have been transported?

The ark should have been transported by being carried by Levites only.

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

Though they don't know the provisons of the Mosaic Law, Uzzah and David are responsible because they did not inquire from the Lord how to transport the ark.

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

David's mistake in this incident teaches us that we should always be consistent in seeking and doing the will of the Lord.

How should the ark have been transported?

According to the instructions the Lord had previously given! 1 Chronicles 15

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

(responsible, accountable, liable, guilty) That's a tough one, in short David since he organized the occasion should have done the research, Uzzah sine he agreed should have done research as well. They are held accountable because He is God and His Word changes not, they had the opportunity prior to the occasion to seek His counsel.

Nehemiah doesn't get a specific / direct charge to rebuild the wall however as he does he obtain guidance. Even when we take on a charge where we do not obtain a direct command from the Lord all that we do we should seek His counsel, especially if it is done with the belief that we are honoring Him.

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

That we should make every effort to do so as we live move and have our being. When we do not do if He extends mercy and grace that we should repent and seek His counsel. As we learn His counsel and or as we become reacquainted with His counsel that we should do accordingly!

No one but the Levites may carry the Ark of God. For He chose them to carry the ark of theLord and to minister before Hlm forever.

David was responsible for both himself and Uzzah actions. He should have inquire from the books on instructions and the provisions for carrying the Ark of God.

Inquire of God for the strength and guidance to do his will. This way we will do God's work in obedience to him.

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13) How should the ark have been transported?

God's requirement was that it be carried by poles inserted through rings, upon the shoulders of the Levites.

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don’t know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

It was their responsibility to read and know the Mosaic law. It seems like David was the more responsible as their King and leader, but all men were to know the Law.

What does David’s mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God’s will?

This was one of David's few lapses in failing to seek God's will, and it was a disaster...tough learning curve for him and for the people, but powerful!

God knows what I will face each day and it's to my benefit to seek Him early....to ask for guidance and direction and the wisdom and strength to follow His will. I love that He gives us the privilege of free will, and that I can use that freedom to walk with Him, rather than in my own ignorance and frailty! Even after 40 years as His child, I'm still excited about the adventure it is to follow Him step by step!

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13) How should the ark have been transported?

They should have consulted God first about the proper way to transport the ark, therefore they would have had the Levites sanctify themselves, (something that was not done the first time) before they brought up the ark of the LORD God of Israel, giving the proper respect to a holy God.

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

They should have known for there is no reason for mankind to believe ignorance of God's laws will cover sin, this is why God instructs us to STUDY AND SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED.

God did not send His Son for us to trample on God's laws, the promise of Christ is that He will write on our hearts LOVE for His Father's laws, giving proper respect for the Mercy Seat.

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

It teaches me the importance of sanctification, if I believe and claim that God's presence lives in me, then the testimony of my life should display God's Son high and lifted up, a faithful bride, watching and waiting for His return, for that it is the reason I sing and dance before my Lord.

the thougt they could do it without God

What does David’s mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God’s will?

When we learn to grow in the Lord. there some certain stages you are getting proud telling yourself that you know more than others, not realizing that you are deceived

How should the ark have been transported?

It must be hidden from view and 4 Levits must carry it with special poles.

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

They had to seek God's Wisdom all the time. We all have to read the Word of God all the time. If we dont know because we dont study it is not an excuse. We know David's help, almost all the priest were murdered by Saul, but that is still no excuse. If David could do his homework after 1st transport, he could have done it before.

Yes, he probably didn't know there was special instructions, else he would have looked for it. But he did so much else to do this right, it seems obvious with hindsight that he should have read up about the Arc before he moved it

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

We must not do what we think will please God. We must seek the will of God, we must find out what is the will of God, else we will just do what we think is good and expect God to accept it. It is not our will that is important, it is God's will

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13) How should the ark have been transported? How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don’t know the provisions of the Mosaic Law? What does David’s mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God’s will?

Only the Levites (Priests) were to carry the Arc of God. They were to consecrate themselves before the Torah before transporting it. No one else was to touch the Arc.

David and Uzzah were responsible to be looking up the provisions according to Mosaic Law. They were the leadership and they should have set the precedent of being in complete obedience to God. If the leaders here, thought it would be OK to do things any old way, then the people would follow. God though, commanded respect from a nation that was now professing to follow Him. The leading in that fell on David and he was careless with "good intentions" but neglected to respect and honor God fully.

This teaches us to do the same! So often we know what God calls us to do in ministry, but we don't inquire as to the "how" God wants that done. It's important to set a precedent of inquiring daily in the direction God is leading us. Our intentions may be good and we may even have an overall true vision God has sent, but we can't proceed on our own. If He gives a vision, then He has specifics He wants done in that and we need to inquire of Him for those directions.

How should the Ark have been transported?

The presence of God is between the Cherubs on the Ark. So God had instructed the Israelites how it was to be carried. The Levities were to carry it on special poles and it was to be covered. The Ark was to show God's presences and it was sacred.

How are David and Uzzah responsible if they do not know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

David and Uzzah are responsible to know the Law and how it was written down about how to transport the Ark. As we say, "Ignorance is no excuse".

What does David's mistake in this incidence teach us about seeking to do God's will?

We need to know what the Bible says about something before we try it. Even a time of prayer over the the subject matter is important to God. Know what God wants and do it right.

The ark had to be carried by Levites in a prescribed manner

David & Uzzah had the responsibility to follow God's laws. Unfamiliarity, is not an excuse.

If we seek to do God's will, we need to be in the Word to find out His will!!

The ark was suppose to be transported by the Levites. Uzzah and David were responsible for the provisions of the Mosaic Law even if they weren’t aware of it because they had the scrolls and they should have read up on it before moving the ark.

David’s mistake in this incident teaches us that we are to do things the way God wants them done or we will pay the consciences.

There are very specific instruction given by God about the transportation of the ark, along with who should transport it, only consecrated Levites. It should be held high on poles,so that no one will touch it, or even look upon it. God's instructions are very thorough, and very specific. His commands are to be obeyed. He has made his will know always concerning the ark, what should be placed in it, how and with what materials should be used in its construction, size etc., all is explained in Exodus, suggested reading.

The mistake David and Uzzah made was not seeking God's will. The chronicler does not say whether Uzzah ask God's will or not, that being said, he certainly should have and perhaps he may have not fell against the ark. Possibly he was drawn in as an innocent victim of David's sin.

Clear instructions had been given in God's book as to whom and how the ark was to be carried...

David (more so than Uzzah) and Uzzah were responsible in that they should have more thoroughly inquired of the way the ark was to be carried in honor to God.

The lesson drawn here from seeking God's will is that even when it appears that we know what God is expecting of us, we are yet to seek HOW it is to be carried out. It is also why it is so important to know God's ways and seeking His wisdom is never a luxury but a dire necessity.

As another online poster have mentioned, I too am very shocked that David did not know about how to carry the ark carefully. He should have consulted the Torah and he would have known that a Levite should have had the responsibility of carrying the ark. This means we are to seek God's will in all matters. His way or no way.

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13) How should the ark have been transported? How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don’t know the provisions of the Mosaic Law? What does David’s mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God’s will?

According to Mosaic law David was to bring the Ark back to David's Kingdom where he instead dropped it of fat house of Abinadab. The Ark was carried by men instead of b cart. If he had followed the law Ozziah wouldn't have died and David wouldn't have lost all the blessings.

Q2. (2 Samuel 6:11-13)

How should the ark have been transported?

The Levites were the ones who were suppose to carry the ark, the poles were to be put through the little ringlets at the bottom of the ark, the poles were to be placed on the shoulders of these specially chosen men

How are Uzzah and David responsible if they don't know the provisions of the Mosaic Law?

They should have sought it out by one who would have known. David should have conferred with God prior to planning the move. Why didn't the Levites speak up since they were the ones who were responsible for its movement. Surely, there was someone who was learned about this. But, ultimately it was David's responsibilty.

What does David's mistake in this incident teach us about seeking to do God's will?

He should have sought God's will first prior to making arrangements to having the Ark moved. He knew it was Holy and special care was needed of it. He got ahead of himself.

The Ark should have been trasported with members of the tribe of Levi carrying it on their shoulders.

It was the responsibility of David and Uzzah to know what provisions the Mosiac Law contained concerning transportation and handling of the Ark.

There is an old saying that goes "Ignorance of the law is no excuse".

David's mistake teaches us it's important to seek God's will concerning any major decisions we need to make.
