  1. Q4. (John 3:8) What does Jesus' reference to "the wind" teach us about people who have been born of the Spirit? People who have been born of the Spirit, Jesus is saying, are motivated and moved by an unseen but powerful force beyond themselves. The life of the Spirit is a new level of spiritual existence, a different plane entirely. Only people who have been born of the Spirit can perceive and enter the Kingdom of God.
  2. Q3. (John 3:5-7) What does it mean to be "born of water and the Spirit"? In Matthew 3:16, its shows where Jesus when Jesus came up out of the water the Spirit of God descended like a dove...So water would be cleansing os sin and the Spirit woukd be setting the new seed. Rebirth. What do you think "water" refers to? Water would be a form of cleansing sin from the soul. Why have you come to this conclusion? Even though Jesus had no sin, He is the teacher, therefore He has to show humans, which has sin, how rebirth would be done. How, then, would you paraphrase "born of water and the Spirit" to best bring out the full meaning? All of the above??
  3. Q2. (John 3:1-8) When Nicodemus came to Jesus, do you think he was already born of the Spirit? No, I don't believe he was born of the Holy Spirit. I beleive the Holy Spirit reached out to him to guide him in the right direction... towards God. Just like he is doing with all of us. What is the difference between people who have experienced the second birth, and those who have only experienced the first birth? I personally do not know. I do know my heart of heart feels very HAPPY???? when I try to read and understad the Bible.
  4. Q1. (John 7:37-39) In Jesus' teaching on streams of living water from within, whom does he invite to drink? Everyone What does he promise to believers? streams of living water will flow from within him.' To what degree has a spring of living water been fulfilled in your life? 75% still learning and trying to understand
  5. Q5. (John 16:12-15) In what sense does the Holy Spirit guide us into all truth? The Spirit reveals Christ to us and draws us into a deeper relationship with him. Does this promise apply only to the apostolic age and its task of laying the foundations of the faith? No In what sense does it apply to us today? The Holy Spirit assist us in accurately understanding the Father's words to our hearts.
  6. In John 14:16 Jesus says 'I will ask the Father, and he will give...'So God sends the Holy Spirit. Yes it matters. If you have noticed Jesus says..words you hear are not my own;they belong to the Father who sent me.
  7. Q4. (John 16:5-7; 14:12) What benefit is there to the disciples that Jesus goes away? The benefits the disciples will receive will be the Holy Spirit who will guide them in all truth. What promise do we have in John 14:12 concerning the Spirit's power in believers? Whoever believes in Jesus will do the works he has done and greater things.
  8. Q3. (John 14:26; 15:26; 16:13a) Why do we believe that the Holy Spirit is not an impersonal force or power, but a Person? Jesus promises the Holy Spirit to be sent as Counselor, the Spirit of truth. Counselor and Spirit are use as nouns not adjectives. Impersonal force /force are not used . Jw uses the word helper and in 16:13 However when that one comes.... not showing respect to the Holy Spirit (really???) So Holy Sipirit and Counselor are showing a person. What kinds of functions that we attribute to persons does the Holy Spirit do? The Holy Spirit appoints missionaries (Acts 13:2; 20:28), He leads and directs workers in their ministry (Acts 8:29; 10:19-20; 16:6-7; 1 Corinthians 2:13), He speaks through the prophets (Acts 1:16; 1 Peter 1:11-12; 2 Peter 1:21), He corrects (John 16:8), He comforts (Acts 9:31), He helps us in our infirmities (Romans 8:26), He teaches (John 14:26; 1 Corinthians 12:3), He guides (John 16:13), He sanctifies (Romans 15:16; 1 Corinthians 6:11), He testifies of Christ (John 15:26), He glorifies Christ (John 16:14), He empowers (Romans 15:13), He searches all things (Romans 11:33-34; 1 Corinthians 2:10-11), He works according to his own will (1 Corinthians 12:11), He dwells with saints (John 14:17), He can be grieved (Ephesians 4:30), He can be resisted (Acts 7:51), and He can be tempted (Acts 5:9). Why is it so easy to refer to the Spirit as "it" rather than "Him"? The word Spirit does not show gender identity. The use of "it" would not show a gender idenity.
  9. Q2. (John 15:26-27) What does it mean to "testify"? To testify means you explaining what you have seen or heard about a specific person or event. In what way does the Spirit testify about Jesus? The Spirit presents Christ's case for him before the believers and the world.[33] Can you testify from personal knowledge about Jesus? No Or were the apostles the only first-hand witnesses? Yes
  10. Q1. (John 14:15-17) In what sense is the Holy Spirit "another" Paraclete? Jesus is the first Paraclete sent by his Father. When Jesus sends the Holy Spirit to replace him then the Holy Spirit will be the other Paraclete. Who was the initial Paraclete? Jesus is the initial Paraclete. In what way can the Holy Spirit replace him? The Holy Spirit ca replace Jesus by staying with us and reminding us of Jesus teachings. How was he "with" the disciples? This one is about Jesus being with the disciples in human form. When will he be "in" them? This one is about the Holy Spirit being within the disciples in spirit form.

  12. ?1. Daniel shows humility by not correcting to the king that Arioch did not find him, that Daniel is the one that went to Arioch. Daniel did not that the credit for seeing and being able to interpret the king's dream but shared witht he king it was God who revealed the dream to him and it was God that helped him understand how to interpret it. ?2. Daniel gives witness to God by telling the king that it was his God that he believes in and has faith in is the one that showed him the dream. ?3. According to 1 Peter 5: 5-6 we should be humble to each other. ?4. "GOD resists the proud..."
  13. ?1. Daniel knows that the king is very upset and worried about the dream he had. I think even though Daniel and his friends are prisoners of the king, they are no ready to be put to death because of someone's lack of action. Daniel has his friends to pray to GOD and plead for mercy so they may know what the king dreamed and what it means. ?2. According to the bible intercessory prayer is very important. ?3. When the first requst fails, Daniel comws up with a different plan of action..he asks for himself and the other 3 to be fed only vegetables and water. ?3. Even though the chief eunuch is of a low status in Daniel's captures staff, Daniel is respectful towards him. ?4. IN DANIEL 1:9- Now God had brought Daniel into the favor and goodwill of the chief eunuchs. Without God's intervention the head eunuchs could have been hard and unfeeling, and said No, no , no to all and any of Daniels request. GOD had and has a plan of action. God needs Daniel for His purpose. ..
  15. ?1. Daniel and his friends must have had a strong religious background and strong beleif and faith in God, they know what foods God allowed and how it was to be prepared. Taking a stand about the food and drink he is standing strong in his conviction about what his body consumes, to still please God. ?2. If Daniel caved in and ate the kings food knowing it was against God's instructions concerning food, Daniel would feel bad and guilty for doing something he know was wrong. ?3. Daniel had a strong beleif in God and himself.
