Q4. Fruit of the Spirit
KenBoy replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 7. The Holy Spirit versus the Flesh
Q4. (Galatians 5:22-23) How does the Holy Spirit produce this fruit in our lives? By walking in the Holy SPirit and allowing Holy Spirit guidance in our life ,The power of Holy Spirit manifests in us to produce the fruits .By walking(giving authority to the Word of God) ,being led and conforming with the statutes of biblical worldview -Holy SPirit resteins us from sin and empowers us to walk in Grace. What theological term would you use to identify this process? Stoicheo meaning walk or be in line or step with the standard ,agreeing ,following .conforming and holding onto , How can it be that a person who has been a “Christian” for years displays few or none of these fruits? This happens when renewal or rebirth has not occured , Are they saved, but just immature? What does James 2:17-19 say about this? Is that too harsh? No .they are not saved .But God is the final authority to judge them as they may get saved ,Only God knows , .James 2:17-19 says faith without works is dead; works without faith is dead. "Believing in God is no proof we are justified by faith alone, even the devils believe without justification." 4 James speaks honestly .To sinners and those soft on sin may find it harsh .But it is better to be in heaven without an appendage than the whole body .. -
Q3. Spirit Power Brakes
KenBoy replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 7. The Holy Spirit versus the Flesh
How does the Spirit enable us to resist the temptations of the flesh? As Spirit and flesh are opposing forces ,the presence of Spirit RELEASE us from the bonds and attractions of sin and active life of Holy Spirit that lives in us RESTRAINS from the bondages and indulgence in sin , How does He restrain us? How does he enable us to break the hold the flesh has had over us? The Active Holy Spirit prevents the power of sin on us ,the impulses of flesh are defeated when one person leads a Spirit anointed and guided life , -
What does it mean to “set the mind on the things of the flesh”? Self righteous .choices and thoughts .acts that follow a person by ones own carnal mind and ways .Godless . What is involved in “setting the mind on the things of the Spirit”? To believe that God sending His son Jesu Christ in the likeness of sinful flesh ,and he was condemned to take away the sin of the earth ,Died and rose and live again ,and Christ send the Holy Spirit ,the person who is with us and leads us in every work ,thought and deeds ,So it is unselfishness ,not I who live but Christ in Me ,being crucified with Christ in the flesh. What does it mean to have your mind “stayed” on Jesus? Believe in Christ and stay in Obedience .humility and surrender enable the Grace to abound in us , How much of this requires will-power? We hand over our WIll in obedience to the WIll of God ,to obey and wait on Christ . How much does the Spirit assist us? Abundantly ,fully Can this become a habit as we practice it? Yes indeed ,Walk not carnal ways ,but spiritual way though it is narrow at times ,Spirit delivers us from the snares and rewards of sin which is hell and separation from our maker ,

Paul refers to sinful nature is the spirit that operates at human level ,or flesh level ,that which operates in human bodies to do ones own will to satisfy the reckless nature selfish desires without guidance and grace of Christ ,our redeemer and God incarnate. Christ in His life on earth was tempted in every way ,We cannot eradicate it.control it without the dependance on Christ through our companion guide Holy Spirit Yield to the New Operating System. This law in Spirit free us from the slaver of sinful nature of every human heart and acts .

Q3. Tongues, Prophecy, and Praise
KenBoy replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Baptized with the Holy Spirit
I believe speaking in tongues. If one is persistently a devout person of God and loves Christ above all things ,totally surrendered ,Gift of tongues or loosening of speech and anointing of precious Holy Spirit does happen at worship and even in ardent prayer alone .I do not come from a denomination that exalts the need to speak in tongues . I have a dilemma in judging or difficulty in having a strong opinion about tongues.and will refuse to make this a matter of debate as i commonly see ,esp against it . Speaking in tongues MAY be one of the gifts the Holy Spirit gives. In 1st Corinthians 12, Romans 12 and Ephesians 4, Paul lists many gifts: Wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, prophesy, tongues, teaching, miracles, administration. All of these are the gifts the Spirit gives, but no one gift is given to all. In verse 11, Paul says the Holy Spirit decides what gift is best for each person -
. The Holy Spirit is given for a purpose to equip and empower for a special mission of manifestation AND be filled & immersed in the power and presence of Holy Spirit.. Even though Peter had already been baptized with the Holy Spirit at Pentecost, he now he manifests the power and shares or bestows the power of the SPirit. I wont think(debate ) much about this except Believe that all things (promises of Holy SPirit and its Rich Spiritual Gifts ) /receive ,share /bestow ,,so that Light of the Word reaches all , Power Power Wonder Working Power........

Q1. Baptized, Filled, Received
KenBoy replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Baptized with the Holy Spirit
At Pentacost ,the PROMISE of the baptism by immersion with Holy Spirit was fulfilled.Something like tongues of fire rested on them and they began to speak in other languages (tongues) This event was unique in a number of ways : It was spontaneous. What looked like flames of fire rested on the disciples and they spoke in a number of known languages. (Separately or in unison?) The sound of a mighty rushing wind was heard by many people This was a completely new thing. A new age of grace commenced. The gospel was preached The church was born, 3000 people were baptized. The gift of the Holy Spirit was offered to the hearers of Peter’s message. People were added daily to the church Unique as - Six words are used synonymously Baptize (Acts 1:5), Come upon (Acts 1:8), Filled (Acts 2:4), Pour out (Acts 2:17-18, 33), Receive a gift (Acts 2:38), Promise (Acts 2:39, cf. 2:33); these six words describe what happened at Pentecost to those who waited upon the LORD faithfully and received the Holy Spirit. "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off -- for all whom the Lord our God will call." (Acts 2:38-39) Jews from foreign lands heard the sound of language in their own mother tongue and wind .They saw the tongues of fire resting on those baptized. They heard the sound like that of the rushing violent wind or tempest. Peter explained that this was the culmination of PROMISE - Joel 2:28-32 being fulfilled in their seeing and hearing... That no longer was it necessary to have a priest or intermediary in order to be in relationship with God because He would be living in them. It is clear that at Pentecost a message - the message- was being preached, but there was no interpreter. That leaves us with two possibilities. The first is that the disciples were speaking in different languages, and, as there are more than twelve locations mentioned, switching between them. The other is that on this unique occasion the Holy Spirit conferred, temporarily, the gift of interpretation on all the hearers, so whatever language or languages the disciples spoke, the hearer heard in his own tongue. When Cornelius and his household came under the power of the Spirit, there was no need for an interpreter, as they were praising and worshipping, and the main reason was to witness to Peter, ans thence the Jews, that God had accepted the Gentiles in Jesus the Christ. -
Q 4(1 John 4:4) Why does John need to remind us that we have “overcome” the world? .a. John reminds us that we are to live in Christ (Love Christ and obey the commandments. ,We need to stay in the Word and say what God says about us in the Word. If we get it in our heart, it will be there when we need it. John assures us the He who lives in us is greater than the world with its evil chaotic methods .So we are winners through the Holy Spirit .,This Holy Spirit is immensely powerful ,greater than the evil ones ,Hence we overcome the world by having a spiritual point of view as we discern the world and make choices that does not grieve the Holy Spirit. .b .Is the potential power of the Holy Spirit within you less than the power in the Apostle Paul. What might be the factors that seem to limit our sense of power? I personally believe that the power of Holy Spirit is the same as that of New Testament era . The factors that minimize our power are many -Not thirsty enough ,Engagement with the world ,Lack of prayer life ,Acts that grieve the Holy Spirit ,Willful disobedience , Explore the bible to be spiritually strong as in Ephesians 6 ... Lack of prayer life is the greatest obstacle ,and lack of personal relationship with Christ . May I say ,Help me Oh Lord to look to you and be filled with the spirit of Christ.

What does the Spirit as an “anointing” teach us? The full payment was made at the cross ,still there are further payments when Christ will see us face to face . Spirit as anointing -The meaning of the word anointing is 'oil being poured out on someone ,"" the Oil of the Spirit of Holiness ,This anointing by Holy Spirit is the teacher , Summary is that Holy Spirit comes upon a person and takes the reign of life and reigns ,the master and controller ,protector and advocate from evil ,illness and deceitful enemy ,

Q4. (John 3:8) What does Jesus’ reference to “the wind” teach us about people who have been born of the Spirit? People cannot control Holy Spirit but Holy Spirit lead us when we accept and make our hearts abode of the Holy SPirit . Q 2. (John 3:1-8) When Nicodemus came to Jesus, do you think he was already born of the Spirit? What is the difference between people who have experienced the second birth, and those who have only experienced the first birth? Q-When Nicodemus came to Jesus, do you think he was already born of the Spirit? No .Only Jesus Christ was anointed of Holy Spirit at the time ,Jesus was preparing his disciples for the same . People born-again have been changed by the Holy Spirit. They now care for the things of God, having the need to seek after God. There is now a love for God that was not there before. But Nicodemus was a seeker and he came to the right place ,being drawn by the Father . Q-The difference between people who have experienced the second birth, and those who have only experienced the first birth? Born of water and spirit .....A believer in Christ seeks higher communion or relationship with God the ,It is a Free Gift .I find some mystery in that it is indeed special and predestines ,though humility and seeking teachable mind set can be an asset that we seek and see the Creator .. Men ought to love God for He first loved us . The First is a natural Birth into flesh and physical form in this material world ,,Carnal and natural man , The Second is the Spiritual and Permanent Birth ,into Life eternal and Salvation Promise of Good Hope to be with Christ (Heaven),
