Five What does this tell you about David's relationship with God? No matter what the circumstances are David communicate with GOD. What does this tell you about his faith during trials? He has overwhelming faith in GOD. Which is your favorite among these psalms? Why? Psalm 18, David give praise unto GOD for delivering him from his enemies. The words he used to express his feelings is great. -
Q3. (1 Samuel 23:14-18) Why does Jonathan visit David in the wilderness? To encourage David. What risk is there for David? Jonathan travels with his father's army and may compromise David's location. What risk is there for Jonathan? That the men of the army will tell Saul about Jonathan and David's meeting, What do you think it meant to David? It means a lot and it encourage David. Have you ever received a visit from a friend when you needed it most? Yes.

Q2. (1 Samuel 22:20-23:12) What did Abiathar and the ephod have to do with "inquiring of the Lord?" The ephod is part of the high priest's garments that include the Urim and Thummim. Why did David inquire of the Lord? To have clarity must he go and attack these Philistines. What huge advantage does the person have who seeks God's will before acting? You have the assurance that what you want to do is the right thing to do. How can you find God's will at key points in your life? By constantly consult with GOD, remain in HIS presence. -

Q1. (1 Samuel 22:2) Why were David's men attracted to him? They were pursuing by Saul. What did they have in common? They owe money being hounded for repayment, rebels who want to overthrow Saul, and probably a few bandits who are wanted for various crimes. Why kind of men were these? They were distress or in debt or discontented. What difficulties do you think David probably had in leading them? The responsibility to feed them and their families. -
Q4. (1 Samuel 20:35-42) What is the nature of the covenant between David and Jonathan? It's a enduring covenant they sworn to each other, in the sense that no one of them will hurt each others descendances. What does David receive? Assistance from Jonathan to escape from his father (Saul). What does Jonathan receive? Received assurance (securance) from David when David became next King. Who benefits the most from this covenant? Great risk for both of them, both risks their lives. Is it self-serving -- or not? Yes and No. Yes they think of their own thing at present and no, because they also think of their future (their descendants). What is the significance that God is witness to the covenant? They have sworn in the name of the LORD.

Nothing is sacred Saul, his fear and need to control have pushed him to total rebellion against God. Why do people prophesy when the Holy Spirit comes upon them? Holy Spirit moves people from their intent to kill David to speaking the things of God. What is the relationship between this incident and the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2)? Resulting in prophecy.

Eliab is embarrassed by David's naive comments because they reflect on his own lack of courage. What does this teach us about David's faith? With our living GOD everything is possible, David is fully depended on GOD. What does it teach us about Eliab's character? very bombastic and diminishing over David. -

Q4. (1 Samuel 16:14-23) From Saul's perspective, why is David summoned to court? To become a court musician and general equipment-bearer when he isn't singing. From God's perspective, what seem to be the reasons for this service in Saul's court? God wants David in Saul's court to be exposed to the nuts and bolts of governing, to learn the art of leadership from that nation's leaders. What things tend to prevent us from learning from God in the midst of the circumstances in which we find ourselves? Disobedience towards GOD. Want to do things your own way instead of GOD's way. What might make us more teachable? An open SPIRIT or teachable SPIRIT. Trust and obey GOD. -
Q3. (1 Samuel 1:13) What is the significance of Samuel anointing David? Samuel's anointing is much more significant spiritually than any political anointing. What is the significance of the Holy Spirit coming upon David? The Spirit of the LORD came upon David in power How does this explain his success? The young man had been a harp-player and songwriter. Now he becomes an anointed, prophetic songwriter and the "sweet singer of Israel" (2 Samuel 23:1). The boy who has courageously defended his flock against the lion and the bear, now becomes the mighty warrior who defends his country against giants and Philistines (17:37). The young man who has shepherded his father's flock to find green pastures and still waters (Psalm 23:2), now becomes the shepherd[35] of a nation as its king -- all by the powerful Holy Spirit who has come upon him. How is the Holy Spirit upon us vital for our own success as disciples? By obeying the HOLY SPIRIT, as GOD's word said the if you are a son of GOD you are led by the SPIRIT of GOD.

Samuel nearly does it but every time HOLY SPIRIT rebuke him and he listen. What is our instinctive way of discerning? As we are in the world but not of the world, our instinctive is mostly natural How is God teaching us to discern? We have to be Spiritual Minded, led by GOD's Spirit. How do we learn to listen to the Spirit? Meditate on GOD's Words. it is life giving and inspired by GOD's Spirit. Set us apart for GOD's purpose.

Q1. (1 Samuel 15:22-23). What is rebellion? Rebellion is doing it our way that means, doing what we decide to do rather than what God tells us. We excuse ourselves by our difficult circumstances. In what way is rebellion as bad as witchcraft or occult practices? Obstinate resistance to God exalts self-will to the place of authority, which belongs only to God. What does rebellion have to do with arrogance? We think we know better than God, so we do it our way instead of his -- often with tragic results. What can we do when we find rebellion against God in our hearts? Repent of this sin and give it to JESUS so that HE can take it away. JESUS already delt with it on the cross. What happens if we do nothing? We will be responsible for our own down fall. GOD is not happy with a Rebellion spirit. -

The commands to aid the poor begin in the Law, with instructions to leave some of one's crop in the fields so the poor can glean there. Why are we sometimes hesitant to help the poor we see in our streets? What we gave them they used for something else. What are some wise ways by which we can make a regular practice of giving to help the poor? Learn them to catch a fish instead of give them a fish. -

Which are designed to provide protection and security for his people? The wall of Jerusalem, "the supporting terraces (Millo), and Hazor, Megiddo and Gezer. Many of God's people are in day-to-day provision mode, but if God has given you a bit of disposable income, which of your primary financial outlays are designed to honor God? a Tenth of it. Which are designed to serve others? With in the 90% to meet the need of others. -

A man who loves God and whom God loves Can you think of anyone else in Scripture who is loved by God and loves God back? (Hint: 1 John 4:19) We Yet, Solomon's life is a cautionary tale for believers. Why? Although he loves GOD and GOD loves him, he betray GOD by worshipping idols on high hills and was led into sin by foreign women. -

He is a humble person, he repents on behalf of the nation, by seeking GOD's face he prayers three time to GOD. What must God's people do to experience renewal and revival today? Humbling themselves and repentance by confessing the sins. What conditions must be true in our hearts? A repentance heart. How might God's healing show itself in a person? Will be a free person. In a congregation? Unity amongst the people. In a region? Unity amongst the population groups. In a nation? Unity amongst the population groups. Why is a Holy Spirit-sent revival so important in our day? People have moved like in the Old Testament day away from GOD to idols, today the people are still turning their back towards our faithful GOD.
