  1. --------------------------------------------------------------- Q3. (1 John 1:9) How would you define "confession"? Why is confessing our sins so important? What happens to us if we stop confessing our sins? What are the promises given to us if we do confess our sins? How is forgiveness of sins different from cleansing? Confession is important because it shows we agree with God about the wrong we did. Confessing to one another keeps us humble, and allows others to pray with us. Our sins ARE forgiven. Confession is like rinsing the dirt of sin away with the purifying water of Jesus Christ.
  2. What Would Jesus Do? Should the 'I' in us decide to do as Jesus did? When we are filled to overflowing with the Holy Spirit, whatever we do is His. Lay 'I' on the altar, and just walk in the Light. If your brother also put 'I' on the altar, if 'I' died with Jesus on the cross, then we have fellowship with each other. Then whatever we talk about is discussed in that Light.
  3. I believe the difference is in the motivation. Obedience out of reverence to God vs obedience out of a need to be seen. In legalism "I" is the center, where as "love" is focused on the other person.
