  1. Q5. (Hebrews 2:16-18) Why in God's plan did Jesus have to become human like us? How does his humanity provide encouragement and help to us when we are in trouble? The qualification for kinsman redemption required Him to be made like His brethren. This gives experience in His high priestly office, compassion through His first-hand experience. Jesus experienced fear (although He was perfect in love) so that we have confidence when we fear... the we can go to Him in prater.
  2. Q4. (Hebrews 2:14-15) What was the purpose of Christ's death according to verses 14 and 15? In what sense is this mission accomplished? In what sense will it see its final completion in the future? What is the result in our lives from Christ's accomplishment? To defeat the devil and take the keys (authority) of death. To render Satan with the basis of power in the life of the child of God. Thus... delivering them from fear.
  3. Q3. (Hebrews 2:10) What does it mean, to bring many sons and daughters "to glory"? In what sense did Jesus become "perfect" through suffering? What are the implications for our own lives? Jesus repopulates heven through His suffering. Jesus developed (matured) the Father's will through suffering. Suffering can work good things into our lives.
  4. Q2. (Hebrews 2:9) In what way did Christ "taste death for everyone"? Why is this so dependent upon God's grace? If Christ died for your blackest and most stubborn sins, what are the implications for you? By the cross the perfect eternal sacrifice satisfied the judgment of God against the believer. Jesus' death was substitutionary. He took our penalty. We trust Christ's righteousness and not our's. Because Jesus died for my worst.. i can go to heaven.
  5. Q1. (Hebrews 2:9) In what ways did Jesus suffer during his life and death? In what ways are we likely to suffer? Does suffering have any value? What happens when we live in such a way to avoid all suffering? He suffered a physical death on the cross. His life .. He suffered rejection, grief, heart break, & isolation from the Father. Our suffer can be in any of these, but probably not to His extent. Suffering has value... in any way that we are associated with Christ our character grows. The seeks to avoid all suffering causes us to focus more on the temporal.
  6. Tough question. The Revelation of God's Word. The presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. God's existence shown through the created order. We need more signs and wonders in this world today. Jude stated that we should content for the faith once delivered to the saints.. That active faith would bring signs and wonders.
  7. Drifting is easy... small compromises lead to larger ones. The GIVING HEED is the teacher stressing us to PAY ATTENTION. The metaphors of SLEEP, Being AWAKE, WATCHING, and GUARDING are of the same discipline. The Sower illustrates the various ways / attitudes / efforts that the seed is handled. Deal with the SEED. Take time to find GOOD Soil.
  8. Jesus was the Word Incarnate... Left heaven! Isiah stated that the Word would not return VOID... but would accomplish what It was sent to do. Jesus returned to the Father having completed the task He was sent to do. We know that Jesus had a Divine entrance (through Mary) and a Divine exit (through the ascension). The writer of Hebrews calls Jesus the EXPRESS IMAGE. Jesus was the revelation to this world of God's Nature, God's Love, God's desire for a restored fellowship. What I see through Jesus is God's image.
  9. Jesus was the Word made Flesh. Eternal with the Father from the Beginning. Jesus as God's only begotten Son, is superior to Angels or any of the Prophets. The Word's of Christ have total authority as God. He counted it not robbery to be equal with God. The Nature and Substance (if we can use that term) are exactly the same between God the Father and Christ the Son.
  10. Thanks... instead of "That's"
  11. Looking forward to the study in the Book of Hebrews... That's for all the work that you have put into the studies and web site.
