Satan is always at work, he doesn't want God to win so daily he gives us struggle to try to get us to give up and turn to those sins. We must live for Jesus each day. Start our day's with the Word and not only read it but devour and ingest it into our lives so that we may, as Jesus did through the Father, resist the temptations of satan and win against sin. Again the only way to die to sin is to live for Jesus. Each moment of each day He must be with us in our hearts and minds so that we can overcome difficult situations. To live for righteousness if simply to live for the Lord in all we do. Living with hope and joy and not clinging to past sins, because they were "bore" away long ago by Jesus death on the cross.

I had to understand that Jesus deserved none of what he got. I also needed to understand that even though he came as a man he was able to resist sin. I cannot fathom the depth of his pain in having those sins upon him. I know the pain and guilt I have felt with mine alone, to bear the weight of the sins of the world is beyond my comprehension. He was the son of God and trusting in his father and his love for us gave him the strength.

I only recently felt the impact of realizing that I was CHOSEN by God. "I" didn't choose to believe, He chose ME to believe. He picked me, even though I have failed Him over and over He still chose me. That inspires a heart of awe and wonder and complete and utter gratefulness. I want to spend my life praising His name and all that He has done in my life. Even when I was so far from Him I didn't think I could ever get back, He didn't give up on me. He still wanted me to be with Him someday. I stand humbly before him ever so thankful for Him unswerving Love.

Q1. Priesthood
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3 Being God's Temple, Priesthood, and People (1 Pet 2:4-12)
Although God wants us to praise Him and be grateful for the things He does in our lives, He alse wants us to praise and worship Him simply because of who He is. I spend alot of time being grateful, but I need to spend more time just loving Him and praising Him. I need to tell others of His love for them. -
I have felt like my family would be better off without me. That I was not what they needed. But I have learned that I am worth more then silver or gold simply because God says so. God loves me beyond what I can ever comprehend enough to redeem me with the blood of His Son. My physical assets are worthless they will fade away, their value has limits. But my value in the eyes of my Lord is imperishable and it will never fade.

Q3. Judgment and Gospel
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2 Living Holy Lives (1 Pet 1:13-2:3)
Because society and the World has taught us it's not nice to judge, we are to accept people for what they are no matter what there beliefs are. But God tells us to love the sinner NOT the sin. Because of God's love for us we do not get what we deserve in that final judgement. Because we need to understand our sins will be judged, but we will not receive what we deserve because Christ covered our sins with His blood. What then is the point of Jesus sacrifice if there are no sins to be forgiven in judgement. -
Special, different then others to be holy would be to be set apart from the standard and to choose a sacred life. I guess in that simply being the Lord's living for Him set me apart and makes me holy. I must be obedient in my search for holiness, in my search to grow and learn all He wants me too. Not allowing sin to overcome me such as getting angry, or lashing out needlessly, or lying... It is a day to day battle with the flesh, but I know with everything in me that the Lord can change me not only can, but wants to change me. He chose me for Himself. His love, strength and power can conquer all sin.

Q1. Christ's coming
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2 Living Holy Lives (1 Pet 1:13-2:3)
The fact that we will be seeing Him face to face. He will look at us and see everything the good, the bad, and the ugly, but he will also know that ultimately we chose Him and the rewards will be like nothing we can even imagine. Because there is going to come a day, hopefully soon, that we won't have to stuggle anymore. Loving and serving Him will be all we want to do and nothing, not anything in this world will get in the way of loving Him. Because when He comes I want to be able to look at Him without shame knowing I lived for Him and Him alone. We have to be ready and focused on Him at all times because we have no idea when He'll be coming. I lived like I didn't expect His return for too long. It's easy to become lacks and caught up in the world. We think there's alway tomorrow to get right with God. I remember actually praying that He not come right at that time because I was so ashamed of how I was living. But we have to get right and start living for Him right now. It's great practice for when we see Him each and every day forever. -
Q3. Secure by Faith
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Rejoicing in Our Salvation (1 Pet 1:1-12)
It is threefold: He sent Jesus to die for our sins so that we may begin a new life in Him He is always with us guiding us to live for Him and grow in our knowledge of Him He has promised us that Christ will return and all the pain will be taken away and we will be with Him. -
Q2. Forgiveness and Obedience
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Rejoicing in Our Salvation (1 Pet 1:1-12)
In a true born again Christian when you recieve God's forgivness the Holy Spirit creates in you the desire to obey. Without this desire your forgivness gives licence to sin. A person will believe because they are forgiven they need only ask for that forgivness then they can go on living in the world as they always have. The two have to be together for you to grow as a believer in Christ. Obedience is not a work it is a heart's desire to do the will of the Lord. -
Q1. Homeland
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Rejoicing in Our Salvation (1 Pet 1:1-12)
He is more focused on the world the on the Lord. He lives his life without regard to whether or not he is sinning, but uses God's forgivness to give him licence to continue to sin. Yes unfortuantely many time. It greives me to think how long I have lived the lie. Claiming to be a Christian, even believing I am one, but coninuing on living in the World. God happened he allowed me to nearly drown. Thank God he had his anchor securly around me and he pulled me out just in time. -
Q5. Joy
cindyloohoo41 replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Rejoicing in Our Salvation (1 Pet 1:1-12)
Love for Jesus. Joy is Christ gives us Joy in the world. Yes our love for Him is what feeds our emotions. The world tells us to chase worldly pleasures, money, food, ****... these pleasures will never last. They are emptly pursuits. The love of the Lord is the only one who can bring true happiness and joy. Joy is the Lord spills out to others. It can be seen and felt in the lives of believers. Counterfeit is self-centered and empty in the end.
