To follow the Lord “wholly” or “wholeheartedly” means that we follow Him no matter what is going on around us. Caleb and Joshua differ from the other spies because they saw the land through the eyes of the Lord and knew that there was nothing in the land that they couldn’t conquer with His help. If the leaders are not willing to follow God’s will then is harder for the people that are following God to get involved. God was angry with the Israelites because they did not keep God on their minds but instead listened to the ten that said that it was too big a choir to conquer the land.
