The basic elements involved in a sacrifice for sin is that you confess you sins, provide a female lamb without blemishes, transfer your sins to it and then cut its throat. The things that are still necessary for forgiveness of sins today is to confess our sins and ask God for forgiveness. The slaughter of the lamb is no longer necessary because Jesus Christ was our Lamb without blemishes.
