Q1. Daniel's Prophecy
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. The Glorious Kingdom of the Son of Man
Some of the elements of Daniel’s prophecy of “one like a son of man” is dominion, glory, kingdom, that all peoples, nations, and languages should serve him. His dominion is everlasting and will not be destroyed. The clue that I have of to the divinity of “one like the son of man” is that it will last everlasting and will not be destroyed. -
Q4. Tabernacle and Kingdom
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Glorious Kingdom in the Sinai Desert
The relationship between the tabernacle in the wilderness and the Kingdom of God is that the tabernacle was God’s dwelling place here on earth. They all come together in the wilderness tabernacle when God enters the tabernacle. -
Q3. Spiritual Hunger
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Glorious Kingdom in the Sinai Desert
The reason that Moses hungers to see God’s glory is because he knows that God is the greatest companion to have. Paul presses on so that he can get closer to God. I can see this spiritual hunger in me because I am always studying the Bible and wanting to get to know God more. I satisfy this hunger by studying the Bible and being in fellowship with others who want to be close to God. -
Q2. Glory and Judgment
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Glorious Kingdom in the Sinai Desert
I think that God’s glory is associated with judgment and consuming fire because almost any time that God appears in the Old Testament it seems like He is judging with consuming fire. If people willfully disobey God and his laws they are sent to hell. God’s holiness cannot co-exist with sin because God is Holy and cannot be associated with sin. -
Q1. Types of Glory
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Glorious Kingdom in the Sinai Desert
Reputation glory is one that when you do a good job then your reputation glory is recognized. Derived glory is when we associate ourselves with somebody and they are an outstanding person then through that association we have derived glory. Inherent glory is when somebody is glorious even though some don’t recognize it he still has that glory. The glory that is involved when I praise God is derived glory and the glory that is within me is reputation glory. -
Q6. It Is Finished (John 19:30)
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross
Jesus finished his mission which was to save us from the evil one. We can learn from this Sixth Word: “It is finished” that we should give it are all and never give up. -
Q5. I Thirst (John 19:28)
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross
I learned that Jesus was human and He did suffer for my sins. I think that He asked for the drink so that He would be able to speak His last words loud and clear. This tells me that Jesus was committed to the end of His human life. This experience on the cross taught me I need to be committed to God just as much as Jesus is. -
I think that the Forth Word from the cross teaches me about faith. Jesus had faith that the Father was going to take care of him after He had completed what He was sent to earth to do. It teaches me that I should be committed whole heartedly to the Lord. That I should love the Father with agape love. This understanding has me wanting to do the things that Jesus wants me to do.

The thief’s faith is so astounding in this situation because he is on the cross being crucified for what he done wrong. He realized that Jesus was being crucified because of his faith to God. Jesus granted the thief would go to heaven that day. This meant to Jesus that He had just saved another soul.

Q1. Father, Forgive Them (Luke 23:34)
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in Seven Last Words of Christ from the Cross
I think that my sins is responsible for killing Jesus. I have all the responsibility to bear in this. Jesus was praying that God would forgive me my sins. -
Q4. Divine Lamb
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. The Triumphant Lamb We Worship (Revelation 5)
It tells us that the Lamb is God’s son and that He is very proud of him and that He should be worshipped because He died for our sins. -
Q2. Decoding Symbols
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. The Triumphant Lamb We Worship (Revelation 5)
The Lamb itself represents Jesus Christ. Standing after being slain indicates that He has been resurrected. Horns represent His Power. Eyes represent he sees everything. The number seven carries the idea of being complete. To summarize, then, The Lamb has the qualities of being of God. -
Q3. Triumphing
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. The Triumphant Lamb We Worship (Revelation 5)
The Lamb “triumph” was because He was slain, and purchased for God with his blood for men from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. -
Q1. Lion and Root
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. The Triumphant Lamb We Worship (Revelation 5)
The Lamb is called “the Lion of the tribe of Judah” because Jesus was born into the family of Judah which is “the Root of David”. -
I don’t think that there is much comparison of the Jewish Passover celebration meal in Jesus’ day to the Christian’s celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The Jewish Passover was a celebration of the Death angel passing over the first born of the Israelites and the Christian celebration of the Lord’s Supper is the passing over our sins to Jesus. Our Christian celebration is probably only about a fifteen minute celebration where the Jewish Passover meal was probably an all day affair.

According to the slave-ransom analogy, we are the slave to sin. Jesus Christ offers the ransom. The ransom is not paid to Satan because we are God’s people and He can do away with Satan whenever he wants to. The reason that the slave-ransom analogy isn’t spelled out in the New Testament is because it is only an analogy and like most analogy they break down in time.
