Q4. Antichrist and False Prophet
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. By The Blood of the Lamb (Rev 11-13)
The Antichrist will be very powerful. He will be able to deceive those who do not believe in Jesus Christ. They will make it impossible to buy and sell food and other goods if you don’t have their mark on them. This is telling me that the end times are really going to be bad for those that are left on the earth during this time. -
Q3. Overcoming
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. By The Blood of the Lamb (Rev 11-13)
It means that Satan was conquered by Jesus and spread that word throughout the land. We were not afraid to spread the word even unto death. We know that if we die in the faith then we will raised again and be with Christ. The “blood of the Lamb” was Jesus Christ dyeing on the cross for our sins and forgiving them. Loving our lives means that we love the things of the world more than Jesus Christ. So our idol is our live and not the one who saved us. -
Q2. Woman and Dragon
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. By The Blood of the Lamb (Rev 11-13)
We are going to have a lot of persecution because the dragon is making a last dich effort to conquer the world and have everybody follow him instead of God. But those that are following God are going to be protected. The comfort that I get from this is that Jesus is going to be with us. -
Q1. Two Witnesses
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #5. By The Blood of the Lamb (Rev 11-13)
They were strong and brave and they kept witnessing to the end and they were killed for that. We should be witnessing and standing up for faith in Jesus Christ and we will be rewarded like the two witnesses and be raised up to heaven. -
The thing that is bitter is that most of the earth will be destroyed. But the thing that is sweet is that we will be protected. If we can’t understand it then we can’t believe in what it is saying. We just have to take it on faith.

The people that made up the “great multitude” were the Christians worldwide. They came from all over the world and believed in Jesus Christ. The Spirit within them caused them to worship God. The song “Amazing Grace” is saying that we realize that it was Jesus’ blood that has caused us to be saved and not our own doing.

God is going to protect us at all times especially during the end-times. I think that the 144,000 are to go and try to convert those who are left on the earth during this time.

We learn that those who had been slain were brought to heaven. The persecution was going to go on for a while until the number of brothers had been killed. These souls were under the altar. It may signify that they were still under God’s control. They were killed because they believed in the Lord. They had been cleansed in the blood of Jesus and they wanted vengeance on those that had killed them.

The person that initiates this great storm of destruction is the Lord Himself. It is directed at those that did not believe him and were sinners. It is a just to remove those that are not going in heaven.

Q5. Equal Worship
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
The significance of the same quality of worship being offered to both God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son is they are interconnected some way. Jesus was fully God and was fully man so we can relate to Jesus. The Father loved us so much that He sent his Son to die for our sins. That is a relationship to us that I will probably understand. -
Q4. Reigning with Christ
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
Our destiny includes reigning because that is what God has told us that it is going to happen. I don’t know in what sense we could reign we are going to have to leave that up to God. We are a kingdom because we will all be with God. -
Q3. Worthy Is the Lamb
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
While Jesus was on earth He never sinned. He was God son and could have saved His own life if He wanted to. They crucified Him and God raised Him up from the dead and place Him at His right hand. Therefore He was worthy of opening the scroll and bring history to is consummation. -
We are to give glory and honor to the Lord. That the Lord was slain and was raised again and we are to praise Him who is heaven. We pray to the Heavenly Father. We sing praises. We serve the Lord with the gifts that He has given us.

Q1. Revelation Hymns
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
I think of very many but I love to sing them. The one or two I can think of is Holy, Holy, Holy and How Great is Our God. -
Q5. Criticism and Praise
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
The churches were being criticized for being lazy in the things that they were doing. They were compromising with the pagan world. They were praised for following God and his commands. -
Q4. Apathy
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
The churches are trying to get as many people in their churches that they are willing to compromise on the spiritual things. We can continue to be bold for our churches. We can be in the right attitude when we are with others. We can brag about our churches rather than tear them down. -
Q3. Religious Compromise
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
I think that the religious compromise that the heathen religious practices required in the trade guilds was so spiritually destructive because it took their eyes off of God. The compromises that the twenty-first century Christians struggle with is trying to be politically correct and trying to accumulate more stuff. -
Q2. Compromising Standards
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
We believe in one woman being married to one man. So to compromise that means that we have lost our moral guide. We have more to look forward to and that is resting with God our king. The way that the culture tends to take the edge off your own Christian moral convictions is by our entertainment and trying to be political correct. -
Q1. First Love
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
The way that local congregations can lose their “first love” for Jesus is by turning inward and only looking at the church. Some of the signs of genuine love for Jesus is worshiping Him with all your heart. By doing the things that Jesus has put on your heart. And by the ministry teaching about Jesus. -
Q5. Christ and His Churches
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
Jesus walking among the lampstand says that Jesus is always with his church and that He is there to protect us. -
Q4. The Exalted Christ
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
The reason that the vision of Christ among the lampstands is different than the Carpenter-teacher is because He has been resurrected and is standing at the right hand of God interceding for us. The overall emotion of this vision of Jesus among the lampstands is one that He watching out for us. -
Q3. Comfort
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
Some of the countries that Christians are presently experiencing tribulation for their faith is China, the Arab states, and Africa. The Book of Revelation has to be comforting to them because they are willing to be beheaded for their faith. They know the end of the story and they want to be there when that end comes. -
Q2. Father and the Son
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
The Father is the first and the last and the Almighty. Jesus was the first and the last of those who went to the grave. He is now alive and will reward those that have believed in Him. -
Q1. Faithful Witnesses
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
The theme of testimony and witness is so important for that purpose because it shows us that we aren’t the only ones going through the rough times. Jesus was crucified for our sins and never wavered when he was asked hard questions. I think that the reason that we aren’t such a clear witness in a culture where we aren’t persecuted is because we don’t want to be the outsider. Jesus and his disciples were always outsiders when they were on earth but they were persecuted. We just don’t to be outsiders. -
I know that I look forward to events surrounding our resurrection. I don’t know if I did when I was younger but now that I am getting older and my bones don’t want to be so limber anymore, I definitely look forward to the resurrection. I don’t know why Christians have largely lost their active expectation and hope. As our world comes crumbling down around us that is the only hope that we really have.
