  1. It is great to know that God loves us so much. That we can sing praises to him is just a privilege that is hard to conceive. We do have a great God and we should be praising him all the time.
  2. I think that love and trustworthiness is so important as the bedrock of the Old Testament faith because there was a lot of turmoil in those days. The kings couldn’t be counted on to do the best for the people and they didn’t love them. So to know that we have a heavenly Father that has control was important that he was dependent and loved us.
  3. I think that the aspects of God’s character that stand out to me is the phrase “all that he has made”. I think that sometimes we forget that everything that was made was made by Jesus, God’s son. I think that it is important for “every creature,” every human being to praise him because we are made by him. If we keep God as the most important thing in our lives then we won’t be worshiping idols. I do that by being respectful in church and by doing what God wants me to be doing.
  4. I love the part of God’s character that is mentioned in this psalm because He forgive, redeems, and satisfies. To me that is the most important part. I think that the Exodus was so foundational to Israel’s understanding to God because it showed them how much he loved them. It also showed he would forgive them because they were always trying God’s limits. According to Psalm 103:10-12 God’s limits are as high as the heavens and as far as the east is from the west.
  5. These psalms had enforced in me that we do have a King that is greater than the whole world. Even with all chaos that is going around the world we have a great King that we can cling to.
  6. It is established that the Lord has the right to be called the King because He is the One that created the earth and everything in it. Then the next verses tells us that he had a clean hands and a pure heart. He does not swear deceitfully and that he is seeking the face of God. He is to lift up his head and be strong and mighty. It speaks to me in my situation by telling me to trust in the Lord.
  7. I think that if they remember that God had delivered them from the devastation that they were going through then they would want to pray about the present problem that they are facing at this time. I have been in Arizona when the dry gully was really dry and then the rains came and the gully filled almost to overflowing. But when I looked out at the desert it was a beautiful place to be. So knowing that the dry spell that I am going through will turn into a beautiful place is always comforting.
  8. To “ascribe” to God attributes of glory and strength means to say that God is the one that gave us His great glory and strength. If we fail to ascribe to such qualities him then we are saying that he isn’t what the bible says that he is and we have decided that something or someone else is the one with the glory and strength. God has given us everything so we need to be praising him.
  9. Praise is difficult in the midst of trying circumstances because we are thinking about ourselves. We are in involved in our circumstance and don’t think that God can get us out of it or maybe we just don’t think of God at that time. Praising affects our faith by bringing us comfort knowing that we have somebody that we can count on that will helps us in our situation.
  10. I think that just going through all these psalms that it was very assuring that God is with us and that we can turn everything over to him.
  11. I think that to “rest” in God is to turn all our troubles over to Him. He is there for us and there is no way that anybody can take that away from us. I seek peace when I have things coming at me by stopping and saying a quick prayer and then doing what needs to be done.
  12. I think that the imagery of the river and streams in verse 4 can calm that harassed and harried person by the flowing of the water. To me it is always peaceful when I am near a stream or river. If we know God them we know that he is all powerful. We can dump on Him anytime that we want to. Our words will always be praising God because we are at peace with Him.
  13. I think that when we say “Into your hands I commit my spirit” that we are letting God have all that we can be. It means that we are trusting him to take us to be with him. This can especially bring peace to us when everything else in the world seems to be turning against us. We can know that God is going to be taking care our soul.
  14. The Lord our Shepherd will quiet his sheep by giving them the things that they need and that He is with them at all time. He quiets them by carrying the rod and staff because we know the when the time comes he will be there to protect us. Then He prepares a table for us before our enemies because he is the one that is in charge of things.
  15. David quieted the inner person by not wanting to know the reason why everything is the way that it is. He has turned it all over to God for his understanding. The psalm talks about the closeness that the mother has with her baby when she is feeding them. He also says that he has put his hope in the Lord.
  16. David quieted the inner person by not wanting to know the reason why everything is the way that it is. He has turned it all over to God for his understanding. The psalm talks about the closeness that the mother has with her baby when she is feeding them. He also says that he has put his hope in the Lord.
  17. These psalms were very comforting because of what they say about our Lord and God. We can always know that He is near and that if we stay with Him that He will always be with us. All we have to do is lay our burdens on Him and leave them with him.
  18. I think that the one thing that God really protects is our soul. Nobody can put that to death except for us. We have to suffer the consequences of our decisions and the consequences of other people decisions. I know that God has really protected me is some of the things that I have done in life. I think this is done by his angels.
  19. I think that reading the psalms gives me assurance that God keeps his eyes on me and watches over me. There have been so many things that I have done that would have probably killed me if it hadn’t been for God watching after me. So of course Psalm 121 make me feel more secure.
  20. The psalm teaches us that God is going to always be there when we need him. He will protect us from the dangers of this world. God will let us conquer our enemies. The psalm promises that God will be there when we need him and that is always a great feeling.
  21. The psalmist communicates is trust in God’s protection when he asks him to take him to a higher place on the rock. He also talks about a strong tower in which he wants to take refuge in. And then he wants to take shelter under his wings. The first four verses make me feel that if I would ask God for his protection that I would also be secure in him.
  22. Psalm 80 has been a great psalm to meditate on because I have been praying for this country to turn it around and to have a revival. We seem to be losing our moral compass and we keep wandering in to deeper and deeper into the muck. The country is lost and needs to find the savior.
  23. We have fallen so far Lord please help us to get out of this rut. We see evil and do not say or do anything about it. We are on a continual down spiral and we can’t seem to want to go to you for our help. The prayer in 2 Chronicles 7:14 are exactly what we need. My problem is that we have managed to fall farther then the people during Chronicles time.
  24. Humility is necessary so that we overcome the wrongs that we have done and faith is needed in order to believe that God will forgive us for our sins. If we don’t have humility they we will let our pride direct in the direction that we should not go and we will not be forgiven for our sins. If faith is missing then we continue in our sins.
  25. When I realize that God’s thoughts and plans are focused on me that make me respond with great joy. But I am like you, I get to thinking about how insignificant I am, compared to the universe, I just can’t get my mind around it.
