Q3. Obedience and Slavery
Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Slaves to Righteousness Rather Than Sin (6:12-23)
Obedience has to do with slavery in that we obey the one that has control of us. The way that acts of righteousness demonstrates our slavery to God is we obey the one that has control over us. The evil one never has us do anything that is righteous. The way that doing bad things demonstrates a slavery to sin is that we obey the one that has control over us. Only sin would make us do bad things. Slavery or bondage us broken by letting go of the things that holds us to slavery. The part that obedience has in breaking this bondage is if we obey what God is telling us to do then we can no longer listen to the evil one. The areas that God speaking to me about a fresh obedience in my life is in the area of self control. -
According to this passage, the point we move from being under the headship of Adam to the headship of Christ is when we were baptized. Christ made this possible for us when he died on the cross for us. The thing that we must do to bring this change in headship about is accept the fact that Jesus died for us and that he was resurrected. The implications of us having died with Christ is that at the last day we will be resurrected and live with him for eternity.

The kind of circumstances in modern life that I can think of where a single person acts for the entire group is the president of the United States. Like it or not he is always invoking us by saying that the United States thinks this and that. The ways that members of the group is tied to this person is that if that country declares war on us because of what he said, we all have to give up something for that war.

Old Jerry replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. We Now Have Peace with God (Romans 5:1-11)
For Abraham the relationship between faith and justification was that when God spoke to him he did what God told him to do without questioning him. For us the relationship between faith and justification is the same. We need to be doing what God wants us to do. If we don -

The prayer request that Paul asked for of the Colossian believers that the Lord would open doors and that they would be able to communicate with them after that the door was opened. What it means when they say open doors is that the heart of the people that they are talking to will listen and will accept the word of God. When he asked for prayer in communicating the gospel was so when the door is open and we don
