I lived for several years in another country. In order to be effective in "incarnational ministry" I deliberately learned and adopted many aspects of the local lifestyle. This caused me to constantly evaluate my practices and values - probably more than when I was living in my own country - because I wanted to to be in touch and effective in the world, whilst living as a citizen of heaven. The Christian who identifies more with his present homeland than his heavenly one allows "the world" to shape his values and actions, "being conformed to the pattern of this world" (Rom 12:2). F
