  1. 1. Why is personal courage such an important character trait for a disciple and a discipler? Because it is a great witness to new believer, that we are not ashamed nor scared of the Gospel we profess. We serve an awesome God who is able to keep us through trails of life, but if we always coward away what does that say about our God (Jer. 1:8.) and our faith. For a discipler personal courage reassures me that I am not walking this journey alone, and when you walk or team up with other it's easier to not faint, so with the power of the Holy Spirit and the Word I know I can make it (Heb. 13:6) 2. How does lack of courage prevent evangelism? It causes you to hide your light under a basket 3. How does lack of courage prevent a congregation from being healthy? It causes them to stumble and not trust in the power of the resurrected Christ that he would not leave us or forsake us. It cause faith in the promises that they could reach the world to diminish.
  2. Q2. (1 Samuel 17:34-37) What does David's explanation to Saul of his combat experience say about David's faith? How lethal is David as a warrior? Why do you think Saul allows him to go out to battle Goliath? Does Saul have faith? If so, what is the source of it? That he know that he is not fighting in His on strength but in God Very, the most dangerous warriors is the one on the side of the Lord. Who has God as his front and rear guard. Everyone has to make that decision on whether they will trust God. For King Saul to try and prevent David would be a slap in God's face, to try and stop someone from laying their life down for the right of serving God Yes, but not David like faith. King Saul faith would have been "seeing is believing faith. David is the substance of things......
  3. Q1. (1 Samuel 17:26-30) Why is David so upset about Goliath's taunt? Why is Eliab, David's brother, so upset with David? What does this teach us about David's faith? What does it teach us about Eliab's character? Because he is insulting the family of Isreal. When you insult one of the children of God you insult us all. When people speak about our Lord and Savior or any child of God we should be the same why David was, Vexed in our spirit. Yes they were scared, but that is something God will deal with not an uncircumcised philistine! Is there no one who will stand up for the armies of Isreal in the name the living God by trusting God. Because his brother or any of the man forgot how awesome their God is! He shamed him. So instead of saying David you know something your right, he chose to do what the uncircumcised was doing to them. But we know that God will use anyone who has a willing heart. David knew it wasn't what it looked like and he had faith in God. He had no doubt that God would be Victories. David showed me that if you stand in the name of the Lord that the battle is not mine but His! That we all have been there, before the relationship and it takes getting to know God in order to trust God. David had establish a relationship

  5. 1 Samuel 16:3-12) How does this story teach us the importance of listening carefully to God’s voice? What is our instinctive way of discerning? How is God teaching us to discern? How do we learn to listen to the Spirit? A. It teaches me not to assume but to be prayerful about all things. To stop moving ahead of God just cause the package is pretty. B. naturally by our senses. C. By the movement of the prayer and the Holy Spirit , His Word and our senses D. Be still
  6. Q4. (2 Corinthians 2:10-11) How does Satan take advantage of our unforgiveness? What are the symptoms in our own heart of unforgiveness? According to Matthew 6:14-15, how does holding unforgiveness hurt our spiritual lives? What would you have to do to really let go of your resentment and give it to God? He takes advantage, by trying to minister negative thoughts about that person or problem. But Glory to God he has given of direction about bring our mind in and taking every thought captive. Vexation; we are irritated every time we think on it. Like a pesting fly. If our heart continue to be irritated then I have not completely cover it in forgiveness of love. I have to look pass the person and really see who is pulling the strings and why No peace or rest, the love channel is blocked. No communication with the Father Pray for the peace of God over that problem and my heart. Pray that I look beyond the person at hand and reconcil it in my heart, that I am still standing and learn from the hurt. Turst God and let it go, knowing that God will take care of the situation. Nothing is worth my rest in my spirit. Because while i am over here being angry and having unforgiveness, that person has probably gone on with their lives. Take one day at a time
  7. I think to "Lord it over" is like a parent with a small child. In the beginning what the parent says goes, because the child does not have any wisdom to make the right decision, in that sense lording would not be a bad thing. But the "Loading" that is refered to in 2 Cor. is like the "loading that was done in the old testament "1 King" by Ahab and Jezebel it my way or death or for us today I guess someone would call it and argonant leader ship, his or her ship because I know more than you. What is the balance between good and strong leadership? - One where you can communicated with you followers in a repectfully way. Not being high minded, but humble. But also not being jelly back, a sweet balance between leadership and servantitude. Only brought about through the obedient following of the Holy Spirit -Mark 10:42. The child has become a teenager now, communication will be the key to lead them into adult hood.God is that way with us Micromanaging-I believe if you are going to do that, then whatever it is should be done by you. Because all your time is gone by watchingevery movement of someone else. Even Nehemiah didn't micromange and they had a huge building project. laissez-faire- this approach says you do your thing and I will do mine. Its almost the same thing as when people say you shouldn't judge. No accountability is being called for. As a laissez-faire leader no truth of the gospel would ever come out, it would be a tickling of ears, no sound doctrine. Authoritative- you may eventually go over the edge. I believe Saul had an authoritative style until he meet King Jesus. Then he learn a lesson on how to balance the gift and use that style for the Glory of God Weak leadership - where as an authoritative leader you run over anyone who gets in your way, a weak leader allow the opposit to happen to him. That where the members start running the church, instead of the Pastor or even more so God. That will be a dead church, because either we wont let the Holy Spirit in or we will let Him in and forget that He is a gentle spirit I don't know if this is right, but I used it as a self examination
  8. I agree with ivory eagle. Also, God does not have any jelly back leaders, it is when we can kill our own agenda! that we can do what thus says the Lord. Ps 118:6
