The promise to claim in verse 5 is that if we lack wisdom, ask God and it will be given to you. The condition is we must believe and not doubt. We trust in God to give us wisdom in the trials that we go through. We are not to doubt anything.

I think it is because we are receiving Gods wisdom and strength. When we go through trials, God breaks our sins and they lose their power, only if we seek God first and ask for his mercy. Through the many trials in my life, I have drawn closer to the Lord.

I think that people blame God for evil because it is someone to blame and an easy cop-out for many. It is much easier to blame than take the blame. No, God doesn't tempt us with evil. Evil is in the world thats why we have free will, to deliver us from evil

The value of trials that I have had in my life are a big amount. Only through God's grace and mercy was I able to overcome them. We never really understand why we go through the storms of life, only God does. We are to let God refine us and keep our head up straight. When I am going through a trial, I now pray that the Lord will see me through it and give it all to him.
