Q4. (1 Thessalonians 1:10) What does verse 10 teach us about the Christian faith? Which of these elements are most important? Which are less important? Which are under emphasized by the church in our day? " and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead -- Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath." (1:10), according to scriptures we are to wait on Jesus that He has risen from the dead He is our Savior and He will save us from His wrath of sin. And that He will return to get His children one day. I do not feel that you can count anyone of these elements more or less important than another. The one that I feel is less emphasized in church is the wrath that will be bestowed on people that do not believe in Jesus, the sad and hell fire is not preached as much as the others this day an time.

Q3. (1 Thessalonians 1:5b-6a) How important is imitation in the formation of a new Christian’s spiritual life? What kinds of ministry are most conducive to imitation? Why is the character of the mentor or leader so important to the health of the church? How well do people grow in Christ who aren’t part of a Christian community? In what way is your character important to your family and spiritual children? I feel that the role of imitation in anyone's life in important its a way that we learn. When we first become a Christian our old ways are still what we know but when we imitate other Christians the new life slowly becomes familiar. I feel that any area of ministry is able to be imitated until learned or mastered. Plus we have the Holy Spirit dwelling within us to guide and teach as well. It is difficult for a new Christian to accept and want to live as a Christian if they see the leaders not doing right. We gain knowledge and relationships with others when we are in a Christian community but if we are not we isolate ourselves which harbors depression, guilt, and no growth. If I state that I am a Christian then I should want to live and act as a Christian to show others that I am a new person so that others will want what I have, God.

The Holy Spirit allows us to worship God in spirit and truth we are not spiritual without the Holy Spirit residing with in us. The presence of our will in the ministry will not allow us to minister correctly our self will step forward in stead of the Lord. The role of miracles in Paul's ministry was to show the people that God was present and working. The reason people do not see miracles is they do not believe, however, if a miracle happens to a person it will cause them to believe. I know this from personal experience

I believe that we are to follow Paul as he followed the Lord. He knew that he was called according to the scriptures, he has/had the signs that were mentioned in our study, He had received the gospel that was presented to him with spiritual power and miraculous manifestations. He was welcomed by the people, and the people imitated him. He exhibited joy in the face of persecution. He was a model for other believers, he had turned from idols to the true God and he had an expectation of Christs coming back... I feel that facing a violent reaction to our ministry should it mean we should stop? No, if anything it should make us pursue the ministry more and become closer to God in the face of the violence.

I will tell you all a story and that is what happen to me about believing and trusting in God through rough times. My husband was at deaths door and we, me and my son stood firm in the fact that he was not going to die because God was not finished with him here. He was on life support for over 22 days and he is alive and still here with us today. During that time we had revival at my church and my husband had ask me to go everynight and to sit on the front row and pray for him which I did. I was so happy even though my husband was said to be dying and I just felt the peace of God that he would be okay and return home and praise God he did just that. So believing and standing firm in what the Word of God says is the truth for evermore. AMEN we serve an awusome God.

Q1. Crediblity
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Struggles that Advance the Gospel (Philippians 1:12-30)
Our struggles make us stronger if we handle them correctly. Handling them correctly means to handle them as we feel would best glorify the Lord with our actions. When our peers see us struggling and still standing firm in our belief that God is in control and everything will be done to His will and not ours. And that we are willing to except that whatever it is we are a living testimony to God. Paul stood firm in his faith unto God no matter what was going on in his life or whaere he was no matter if he was in jail he still believed and continued on spreading the word of God. We should do the same. -
Q4. Discerning the Best
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. Approve What Is Excellent (Philippians 1:1-11)
God allows discernment for us to know what is HIs will for us and others. Being selfish ignores Gods' will and puts self first. We are not the "slaves" of Christ if we are selfish. It may be a good thing but might not be a "God" thing. -
Q4. Discerning the Best
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. Approve What Is Excellent (Philippians 1:1-11)
God give us the ability to discern what is right and true and from Him, and then we are to base our responses and decisions and choices on what we know to be right, true and from God. By having discernment we are able to live in the will of God. When we are selfish we are unable to have clear, true discernment because we are putting ourselves and wants and desires before what we know to be what God's will is. We tend to miss out on what God has for us when we are selfish. A -
Q3. Bring to Completion
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. Approve What Is Excellent (Philippians 1:1-11)
God will complete the work He has started in every believer and that includes me and you also Praise God for His word and His blessings. All His promises are YES and AMEN. -
Q2. Partners
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. Approve What Is Excellent (Philippians 1:1-11)
We will inherit all eternal rights that the mission we support will gain. We can also offfer our time to this mission in raising support for them, by praying for them. By helping them in any way possible. I recently took a mission trip to Honduras and it changed my life totally forever I really look at many things now through different eyes. It was the greatest gift from God to allow me to serve Him in that compassity. If you have never been on a mission trip you should really pray about going they are great and so humbling. -
Q1. Slaves and Saints
luvHimalways replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. Approve What Is Excellent (Philippians 1:1-11)
The slave idea really hit me like a ton of bricks, we are to be slaves to Christ. He actually paid for us when Jesus hung on the cross. We cost a terrific price for Jesus to purchase us. And the saint issue to me felt sort of aquward because I really do not feel like a saint, but because Christ purchased and saved us that is what made me holy and saintly it truely was nothing we did. So that helps me except that a little better. -
Greetings and blessings to all here. I have been involved in several studies before but not very deticated with the forum. I will try to remain connected this time. I have been a Christian for a long time and I attend a NonDenominational Church. I am married and a nurse that is currently attending school to obtain my BSN degree. I have allowed this and my other responsibilities to pull me away from God and the Holy Spirit is calling me to get back closer to God. This is my goal for this lesson to get back with God where I am suppose to be and to learn and apply what God has instore for me here. I live in North Carolina, USA and my name is Jeanne
