  1. Being a people whereby "all have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God", we should constantly ask for forgiveness of our sins because they abound daily, even when we are not knowledgeable of them. The transgressions and iniquities committed require us to daily be forgiven. Our blessings are blocked because we do not keep His word. 1 John 3: 22 says, " and whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight." As the scripture says, "...if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins", this is a law of God that cannot be dismissed. God honors his word and cannot lie, therefore, He must abide by what He said.
  2. We seek to be independent from anyone because of PRIDE. Our pride tells us that we are self-sufficent and we don't need anyone or anything. Pride is the root of the sin nature. Being dependent upon God takes our independence away and most people, because of pride are not "willing" to turn over there dependence. Asking God for daily bread acknowledges to Him the reverence He is due. It is saying to Him, I totaly trust you to provide my every need in every situation.
  3. We ask the Father's kingdom to come so that the "system" of divine living can be established here on earth as it is in heaven. The Father's kingdom is His ultimate plan of how we should live in His will. We need to operate in His will because we do not possess the infinate knowledge to know the end from the beginning as He does. God knows what's best ultimately and if we allow His will to be done, there is no need for questions because His will is perfect. This prayer should affect of daily living in that we shoud always request God to have us do that which is well pleasing in His sight and to lean not unto our own understanding, but in all our ways, acknowledge Him and in this, His perfect will becomes our will.
  4. We should consecrate our lives as we are children of the Most High God. This "sets us apart" from the world and hallows or sanctifies our lives for His use. To besmirch His name would be to live contrary to how He instructs us to live and to bring the world to blasphmy Him by our lives and actions. We hallow His name in prayer when we are obedient to His instructions and call upon his name, pray in our "secret" place, as appropriate, pray earnest prayers and not ask things in vain and not in His will.
