  1. When we communicate with God in our prayers , we don't demand what want ; rather we discus with Him what He wants for us If we align our prayers to His will , He will listen ; and we can be certain that if He listens , He will give us a definite answer
  2. God had originally intended that His chosen people be a " Kingdom of Priests " with both the nation as a whole and each individual dealing with Him directly with God . But the people's sin prevented this from happenig because a sinful person is not worthy to approach a perfect God . God then appointed priests from the tribe of Levi and set up the system of sacrifices to help people approach Him. He promised to forgive the people's sin if they would offer certain sacrifices administered by the priests on behalf of people .Through these priests and their work , God wished to prepare all people for the coming of Jesus Christ , who would once again offer a direct relationship with God for anyone who would come to him.But until Christ came the preasts were the people's representatives before God . In Old Testament days , when a Jew offered a sacrifice , he ate a part of that sacrifice as a way of restoring his unity with God , agaist whom he had sinned . Similarly , Christians participate in Christ's once-for-all sacrifice at the Lord's Table when they eat the bread and drink from the cup, symbolizing His Body and Blood
  3. Jesus was not trying to get out of His Mission. It is never wrong to express our true feeling to God, Jesus exposed His dread of the coming trial , but He also reaffirmed His commitment to what God wanted . The Cup He spoke of Meant the terrible agony He knew He would endure - not only horror of the Crucifixion but , even worse , the total seperation from God that He would have to exprience in order to die for the World's sin

  5. Jesus asked the disciples to pray that they would not fall into temptation because He knew that He would soon be leaving them. Jesus also knew they would need extra strength to face the temptation ahead - temptations to run away or to deny their relationship with Him .They were about to see Jesus die .Would they still think He was the Messiah ? The disciples' strongest temptation would undoubtedly be to think they had been deceived .
  6. Paul was reminding the corinthians church that as followers of Christ we must give our Lord Christ Total allegliance. we can not have a part in " the cup of the Lord and .......the cup of demons ." Eating at the Lord 's table means communing with Christ and identifying with His death .Dring from the cup of demons means identifying with satan by worshiping or promoting pagan (or evil) activities . The Bibles says very clearly that you can not serve two masters , you will hate one.
  7. Nobody was allowesd to enter the King's Palace while wearing clothes of mourning, for Nehemiah's sad appearance it was a bad show to the King. The King could execute anyone who displeased him . Nehemiah Prayed at any time , even while talking with others .He knew that God is always in charge , is always presnt , and hears and answers every prayer.
  8. The Lord's Supper is a proclamation in that when partake in it We should tell of Christ's Gospel. The Bread and Cup Proclaim the saving AND resurrection of Christ (because "until He comes " implies the Resurrection) The Lords Supper is a reminder of what Jesus did in the past , asymbol of our present relationship with Him and a promise of what He will do in the future.
  9. -Serving God often demands that we risk our own Security , just like the two did to save God's people. -God has also a purpose for the situations in which He places us , we should not complain just let us trust in Him. -Courage , while often vital, does not replace careful planning .
  10. Jesus took our past , present and future sins upon Himself so that we could have new life . Because all our wrongdoing is forgiven , we are reconciled to God . Futhermore , Jesus' resurrection from the dead is the proof that His substitutionanry sacrifice on the cross was acceptable to God , and His resurrection has become the source of new life for those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God . All who believe in Him may have this nwe life and live it in union with Him Jesus took our past , present and future sins upon Himself so that we could have new life . 11. Nehemiah based on God's Promises He made through the Prophent Moses , and he argued also basing on the same promise God made that If His people would turnt from their evil ways , God would restore them . From this I learnt that , God is in the business of working through His people to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks.God often shapes people with personality characteristics , experiences, and training that prepare them for His purpose , and usually people have no idea what God has in store for them
  12. The Passover meal become an annual remembrance to the Israelites of how God delivered them from Egypt. Each year the people would pause to remember the day when the death angel passed over their homes .They gave thanks to God for saving them from death and bringing them out of land of slavery and sin.Believers today have experienced a day of deliverance as well - the day we were deliverd from spiritual death and slavery to sin . The Lord's Supper is our Possover remembrance of our new life and fredom from sin .The next time struggles and trial come remember how God has delivered you in the past and focus on His promise of new life with Him.
  13. When Jesus said , "Do this to remember me as often as you drink it ." How do we remember Christ in the Lords's Supper? By thinking about what He did and Why He did it. Futher , the remembering has both a backward and forward look. We remember Christ's death , and we remember that He is coming! If the Lord's Supper becomes just a ritual or pious habit , it loses its significance. But when we appreciate what Christ Has done and anticipate what He will do when He returns , the Lords Supper takes on a profound sense of purpose.Take time to prepare yourself spiritually for Communion .Greatfully recall Christ's Loving Sacrafice for you. Let the reality that your sins are forgiven motivate you to Love and Serve Him better.
  14. Nehemiah fasted and prayed for several days , expressing his sorrow for Israel's sin and desire that Jerusalem would again come alive with the worship of the true God .Nehemiah demonstrated the elements of effective prayer :(1)Praise, (2) thanksgiving , (3) repentance, (4) specific reguest , and (5) commitment. Heartfelt prayers like Nehemiah can help clarify ; (1) any problem you may be facing , (2) God's great power to help you , and (3) the job you have to take. Fasting and Praying is still God's mighty force in solving problems today.Prayer and action go hand in hand .Through prayer , God guides our preparation , teamwork , and diligent efforts to carry out His will.
  15. Just as God answered Daniel's prayer , so we can have confindence that God hears and answers prayers .
  16. When I partake in the Lord's Supper that is as we eat the bread and drink the wine , we should be quiettly reflective as we recall on Jesus' death and His promise to come again , grateful for God's wonderful gift to us, and joyful as we meet with Christ and the Body of believers.
  17. In Daniel's prayer for the Nation he confessed his own sin , using the pronoun we throughout .In times of adverity , it's easy to blame others and excuse our own actions. If any Israelite was righteous , it was Daniel , and yet he confessed his sinnfulness and need for God's forgiveness. Instead of looking for others to blame , first we should examine ourself and confess our sins to God
  18. The action words are : Given- Jesus Body was given out for us , :-Poured Out - Jesus' blood poured out as a sacrifice to forgive sin to many.
  19. For a true believer of the Lord Jesus Christ we should take the Lord's supper more serious since it was Command which we have to follow. The most important thing is one to live a Holy life by daily repentance.
  20. Daniel did not boast because he was a rigtheous man but he humbled himself before God in prayer by fasting, and in sack cloth and ashes .He pleaded before God to forgive the Nation and restore it. We should follow the example of Daniel in our prayers for others.
  21. What encouraged Daniel to seek God for the Forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland is he believed God's promises for His people to return and he also trusted that God will forgive people's sin. This lead for Daniel to take this burden upon himself that is to intercede and plead with God on the basis of God's character
  22. When taking the bread and wine which symbolises the Body and Blood of Our Lord Jesus , I have to remind myself of my many sins which Jesus Carried for me at the Cross.I should live a Holy life not nailing Him again on the Cross.
  23. This pray of surrender to God is so difficult to pray because we never surrender Totally to God, there are many Sins we hide thinking that God will not Know it , but we are wrong .God knows everything we do in our secret places. To be sincere I have never prayed this kind of prayer. If we want to genuine disciple of Christ we need to Pray this kind of prayer.
  24. This should encourange me to seek and know God more and more for He is wonderful and needs more Praises than anything else in this world. I should also Fear God because He knows me more than I know myself. For a young woman carrying a child , she should know that she is carrying a very important being who is known by God .She should take great care of that creature in fear of God. This knowledge is overwhelming to us in that we can not even be able to desicribe How great is our Lord.
  25. God had touched the psalmist in : Protection from all sides of any danger that could fall on him, blessings and guiding. Yes I have felt God's hand on me , the first one is the free salvation, the work am doing and many other things He does in my life.
