Q3. Priests Eating OT Sacrifices
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Being Sharers in the Sacrifice
God had originally intended that His chosen people be a " Kingdom of Priests " with both the nation as a whole and each individual dealing with Him directly with God . But the people's sin prevented this from happenig because a sinful person is not worthy to approach a perfect God . God then appointed priests from the tribe of Levi and set up the system of sacrifices to help people approach Him. He promised to forgive the people's sin if they would offer certain sacrifices administered by the priests on behalf of people .Through these priests and their work , God wished to prepare all people for the coming of Jesus Christ , who would once again offer a direct relationship with God for anyone who would come to him.But until Christ came the preasts were the people's representatives before God . In Old Testament days , when a Jew offered a sacrifice , he ate a part of that sacrifice as a way of restoring his unity with God , agaist whom he had sinned . Similarly , Christians participate in Christ's once-for-all sacrifice at the Lord's Table when they eat the bread and drink from the cup, symbolizing His Body and Blood -

masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 10. Jesus' Prayer of Submission at Gethsemane (Luke 22:39-46)
Jesus was not trying to get out of His Mission. It is never wrong to express our true feeling to God, Jesus exposed His dread of the coming trial , but He also reaffirmed His commitment to what God wanted . The Cup He spoke of Meant the terrible agony He knew He would endure - not only horror of the Crucifixion but , even worse , the total seperation from God that He would have to exprience in order to die for the World's sin -

Koinonia is a Greek word meaning participation or communion or sharing .It means sharing something in common with others . Believers relationship to the bllod of Christ and the Body of Christ.. We are shareholdes in the Cross. -
Jesus asked the disciples to pray that they would not fall into temptation because He knew that He would soon be leaving them. Jesus also knew they would need extra strength to face the temptation ahead - temptations to run away or to deny their relationship with Him .They were about to see Jesus die .Would they still think He was the Messiah ? The disciples' strongest temptation would undoubtedly be to think they had been deceived .

Q1. Cup of Lord, Cup of Demons
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Being Sharers in the Sacrifice
Paul was reminding the corinthians church that as followers of Christ we must give our Lord Christ Total allegliance. we can not have a part in " the cup of the Lord and .......the cup of demons ." Eating at the Lord 's table means communing with Christ and identifying with His death .Dring from the cup of demons means identifying with satan by worshiping or promoting pagan (or evil) activities . The Bibles says very clearly that you can not serve two masters , you will hate one. -

Q3. Strategic Placement
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Nehemiah's Prayer for Success (Nehemiah 1:1-2:9)
-Serving God often demands that we risk our own Security , just like the two did to save God's people. -God has also a purpose for the situations in which He places us , we should not complain just let us trust in Him. -Courage , while often vital, does not replace careful planning . -
Jesus took our past , present and future sins upon Himself so that we could have new life . Because all our wrongdoing is forgiven , we are reconciled to God . Futhermore , Jesus' resurrection from the dead is the proof that His substitutionanry sacrifice on the cross was acceptable to God , and His resurrection has become the source of new life for those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God . All who believe in Him may have this nwe life and live it in union with Him Jesus took our past , present and future sins upon Himself so that we could have new life . Q2. Basis of Appeal
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Nehemiah's Prayer for Success (Nehemiah 1:1-2:9)
Nehemiah based on God's Promises He made through the Prophent Moses , and he argued also basing on the same promise God made that If His people would turnt from their evil ways , God would restore them . From this I learnt that , God is in the business of working through His people to accomplish seemingly impossible tasks.God often shapes people with personality characteristics , experiences, and training that prepare them for His purpose , and usually people have no idea what God has in store for them -
Q2. The Passover Feast
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Remembering and Proclaiming His Death
The Passover meal become an annual remembrance to the Israelites of how God delivered them from Egypt. Each year the people would pause to remember the day when the death angel passed over their homes .They gave thanks to God for saving them from death and bringing them out of land of slavery and sin.Believers today have experienced a day of deliverance as well - the day we were deliverd from spiritual death and slavery to sin . The Lord's Supper is our Possover remembrance of our new life and fredom from sin .The next time struggles and trial come remember how God has delivered you in the past and focus on His promise of new life with Him. -
When Jesus said , "Do this to remember me as often as you drink it ." How do we remember Christ in the Lords's Supper? By thinking about what He did and Why He did it. Futher , the remembering has both a backward and forward look. We remember Christ's death , and we remember that He is coming! If the Lord's Supper becomes just a ritual or pious habit , it loses its significance. But when we appreciate what Christ Has done and anticipate what He will do when He returns , the Lords Supper takes on a profound sense of purpose.Take time to prepare yourself spiritually for Communion .Greatfully recall Christ's Loving Sacrafice for you. Let the reality that your sins are forgiven motivate you to Love and Serve Him better.

In Daniel's prayer for the Nation he confessed his own sin , using the pronoun we throughout .In times of adverity , it's easy to blame others and excuse our own actions. If any Israelite was righteous , it was Daniel , and yet he confessed his sinnfulness and need for God's forgiveness. Q2. Preparation
masika replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Daniel's Confession on Behalf of His People (Daniel 9:1-19)
Daniel did not boast because he was a rigtheous man but he humbled himself before God in prayer by fasting, and in sack cloth and ashes .He pleaded before God to forgive the Nation and restore it. We should follow the example of Daniel in our prayers for others. -
What encouraged Daniel to seek God for the Forgiveness and restoration of Israel to its homeland is he believed God's promises for His people to return and he also trusted that God will forgive people's sin. This lead for Daniel to take this burden upon himself that is to intercede and plead with God on the basis of God's character
