Q1. (Numbers 2:1-3:39) Why was the camp of the Israelites laid out as it was? What did this layout teach the Israelites? Why were the Levites and priests camped closer than the other tribes? It put God at the very center of their lives. He was to be their Head,Provider, and Protector. That with God in their midst they didn't need anything. The priest were the chosen representatives of God to the People. The Levites were to be the family the priest came from.

Q1. (Exodus 32:1-6) Why do you think the people of Israel were so quick to make idols, even after hearing the monotheism of the Ten Commandments that forbade graven images? Why do you think Aaron facilitated their sin? How do you think the golden calf made God feel? What idols do Christian churches allow that lead them away from pure worship of God in our day? Their hearts were still in Egypt, they had no fear or loyalty to the true God. Aaron gave the accuse that he feared the people, but I think He was a slow learner also. He needed leader ship training more than Moses. Things they bring into the church musical instruments, church decorating, things they spend their time doing instead of worshiping the true God.

Q3. (Exodus 16) Why did God provide manna for the people? Why did the manna finally cease? Why do you think that the people gradually began to take the manna for granted? What provision of God are you taking for granted? He had planned to feed and provide for them, and because they grumbled against Him. He was showing them they could trust Him for their needs. It ceases because the people became self centered again they started gathering food in Cannan depending on themselves and not God. They took it for granted because it was always there, God told them it would be and when they could gather it after 40 years it was expected not appreciated. His Mercy that is new every day, I often find my self doubting how could a Holy God show mercy to some one like me.

Q2. (Exodus 16:7-8) Why can grumbling against a leader really be a symptom of grumbling against the Lord? Are there any cases where this might not be true? Why do leaders tend to take complaints so personally? What does it take to learn that "it's not about you." Because we fail to remember that it is God who places our leaders over us. We always think we need to be in control,we disagree and feel we need to be right. Pride gets in the way and we reject our leaders and their objectives. Yes, when a leader is not following the word of God in their leading, when they go against Godly principles. They take it personal because the attacks or arguments seem to be against them they seem to forget at times who put them where they are and give in to pride also. We would need to be totally commited to the Lord and not self. I don't see this happening till Jesus comes back.

Q1. (Exodus 15:24) What are the reasons that people grumble and complain? How do fear and faith relate to grumbling? What symptoms of grumbling do you see in your own life? What should you do about it? They usually fear something, maybe failure, loss or maybe safety but it leads to a lack of trusting in God to supply their needs. I have the same in my life at time I tend to worry and that is a lack of faith. Jesus said for us not to worry because we can't change anything only remember that God the Father is in control.

Q1. Blaming and Resisting God
Stan replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Finding Courage to Stand (Exodus 5-11)
Q1. (Exodus 7:6-7) Why did Moses blame God for his troubles? Why are Moses and Aaron so stubborn, do you think? Was it fear? Was it unbelief? Or both, perhaps? Why does God have to command Moses and Aaron? They expect God to work swiftly in taking care of Pharaoh and freeing the people but God's plans are higher than man's so they became fearful and discouraged. They were stubborn because they did not understand the plans of God and wanted things they own way. God commanded them because they were reluctant to do the thing that God wanted them to do. They were caught between Pharaoh and the people they may have feared for they life but they had already been told by God to not fear so lack of faith may have been a part. -
Q4. Fear and Courage
Stan replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. The Birth and Call of Moses (Exodus 1-4)
Q4. Why are we so afraid to obey God when he puts on our heart to do something decisive? How are we to deal with fear when we feel it? What is the relationship of fear to courage? Why is courage required in leaders and disciples? We look inward instead of outward and see our fear instead of God's power. We allow of fear and self doubt to sway us away from God's plan. We to often give into the fear and self doubt that satin put in our minds. Fear keeps us from using the courage, strength, that God give us anytime we ask to complete what He has ask us to do. Courage is required in leaders and desciples because they need it in help those who struggle with doubt and lack of faith. They need it in doing God's will of seeking those He has chosen to come to His Son. -

Q1. Spiritual Kingdom
Stan replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. The Spirit and the Kingdom (John 3:1-21)
Q1. (John 3:3, 5) What does Jesus teach here about the nature of the Kingdom of God? Do you think Nicodemus understands him? Why or why not? In reply Jesus declared, 'I tell you the truth, no one can see6 the kingdom of God unless he is born again.' 4 'How can a man be born when he is old?' Nicodemus asked. 'Surely he cannot enter a second time into his mother's womb to be born!' 5 Jesus answered, 'I tell you the truth, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless he is born of water and the Spirit.'" (John 3:3-5) That not just anyone will be able to enter the Kingdom of God, it is Spiritual, it lives in our hearts through the Holy Spirit and through the power of God to bring use into fellowship with His Son,Jesus. That it is not a place that can be seen but must come through belief that Jesus is who He says He is and willingness to follow Him. I don't think that He understood Jesus at first but must have came to believe in Him through the mircles that He did. His questions make me think he didn't understand and his responce to Jesus' answers. -
Q3. (Matthew 7:7-8) Why is continual asking, seeking, and knocking so essential to our looking forward to the Kingdom? Why do we give up so easily? How do we gain boldness and persistence in prayer? We must stay prepared because no man knows the hour that Jesus will return and we are going to be constantly attacked by satin trying to steal our salvation. We must continue to study and work at keeping others from being lost. We tend to give up because it is the human thing to do if the going gets tough then quit, but this is not what Jesus wants, He says we must keep seeking and asking. Wegain boldness in presistant prayer because we are led by the Holy Spirit other wise we wouldgive up praying also.
