joanharmelink replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1. The Call of Abraham (Genesis 11:27-12:9)
yes, wnen God called me i nto a praayer ministtry of prayer I hesitated. Again nudged me after praying for a woman whose husband was dying from cancer. Again God called me as I was clled to the hospital to pray for her husband again. I felt and knew God was talking directly to me. I said "yes Lord. Little did know that in the near future I would be the one who needed the members of the minitry Myself.Today I am still in the ministry In a slowwer pace yet stronger. But God has been faithful and Abrahams faith has strengthheened m y own many times. -
Q1. Christ's coming
joanharmelink replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2 Living Holy Lives (1 Pet 1:13-2:3)
as a christain we have a living hope that Christ will return and that hope is ever before us as wwe anticipate Chrrist's coming. It will be an exciting experience to see Christ in all of His glory and welcominng us home to all His fulness and receeive our inheritance of all He has promised us. Knoowing it can will come at any time, cay or night gives me to look eexpectanly and be aware of my obedience to Him and not blindly attached to this world. If we are not aware that Christ could come at any time an d lead lives of no regard to His coming, we fall into apaathy and lose purpse and meaning to the life we have begun to live and we become morre attached to this world than before. -
Q1. Submission
joanharmelink replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #6. Living as Christian Husbands and Wives (1 Peter 3:1-7)
Because of our human sinful nature wwwe do rebel against God and His will He haas planned for us. we believe that we are maaturre enough in our faith that we can know what is best. We are selfish people and think we know all the answeers. Pride makes us believe that we have all the right and best answers. WWe ate told to submit to those who are in authority as long as they are submitted to God's will. -

As in the Old Testqment they had to offer a lamb witheout blemish, so in the New Testament one had to be without sin, who is God's anointed to saave us from our sins. Without a sinless Saavior Christcould n ot pay the penalty for ous sins. Christ was separated from God when He bore our sin{ descended into hell} thaat when He bore the entireload of all men siiins from the time of the Old Testament to this day was a day He bore Our transgressions for us.

Be ye Holy as I am holy. God's command to me. I pray that t he Holy Spirit continually works within me when I am unholy. Without the Holy Spirit to convict me every time I disobey I would f ail my Lord many times, I am holy n ow because of what christ has done for mme and I become righteous of because of Him. I struggle with my thought patterns and this is a daily prayer. But I think that now that I am a new creature in Christ I ca say "halleluah" I can walk in freedom knowing where yo turn to.

Q1. Christ's coming
joanharmelink replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2 Living Holy Lives (1 Pet 1:13-2:3)
As true believeres we should live expectantly with a dddaily rrenewal in our lives . The Holy Spirit has sset us aside to constantly lool for that hope. WWe are born again not only to a hope but to an inheritance that is the substaance of hope.Faith itself is precious but is valuable. We do not see Him now and much in the scriptures tell us to watch and Pray. I feel today is so wicked thaat Christ would weep a s He did on Jerusalem as elievers -
Q1. Priesthood
joanharmelink replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3 Being God's Temple, Priesthood, and People (1 Pet 2:4-12)
They sometime think that doing all the right things that would compensate for all the they would ask of God. We are bought with a price and never de serve what a gracious God bestows upon us. This inspires me to humbly come before His throne but also am told I can boldy approach the throne. -
