Q1. (Acts 9:4-5; 26:14) Q. Why does persecuting Christ's people constitute persecuting Christ himself? A. Christians are the body of Christ. Persecuting them is persecuting Christ Himself Q. What kinds of goads or prods have you seen God use on you to move you along Christ's path? A. I think God has used failures or even sickness to draw me closer to Him or to slow me down on the path of worldly pursuit of THINGS Q. When you "kick against the goads" is it harder on you or on God? A. On me of course

Q5. Why should Christians look forward to the events surrounding our resurrection? Why do you think Christians have largely lost this as their active expectation and hope? What should be done to reclaim these truths? A. Because it marks the end of death's grip on mankind. Christians have lost hope of this fact because I think, we are are not studying and holding on to the truth of the Bible. We need the power and leadership of the Holy Spirit to learn, know and keep remembering and having faith in the promises of God for that day when death will have no more dominion over humanity.

Q1. Rapture and Resurrection
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 5. The Christian Hope of Resurrection at the Last Day
Q1. What is the word used in the Bible instead of "rapture"? When will the resurrection take place in relation to Christ's return? In relation to judgment? In relation to glory? (This is NOT the place to debate various theories of the rapture and the millennium.) A. Resurrection. The resurrection will occur when the Son will appear and the trumpet sound, the dead will rise first and those alive will be changed and all will be gathered to the Lord for judgement. The just will be separated and taken to be with the Father ans Son in heaven while the unjust will be taken into hell fire. -
Q3. (Luke 24:12; John 20:6-8) What about the grave clothes brought Peter and John to faith? What was so peculiar about them? A. The grave clothes were neatly lying undisturbed confirming that Jesus was surely risen by a power that made Him slip out without affecting the position of the grave clothes.

Q2. What similarities do you find in the resurrection accounts? Based on the agreements between the accounts, what seems to have happened? A. The most significant similarity recorded in the Gospels is that Jesus Christ is indeed risen. The disciples were now risen from the state of their fear and doubt to total belief in what their Lord had earlier told them would happen.

Q1. What differences do you find between the various resurrection accounts? How do you account for differences in eyewitness testimony? How might these differences add to the credibility of the witnesses? A. There are minor differences in the accounts of the resurrection given in the four gospels. Some of these differences are as regards the women, the purpose of their visit to the grave, the grave clothes, the number of angels. These differences are however not significant and do not change the credibility of the resurrection story given that when a number of people witness an an event and report it, there will be minor differences in their reports.

Q4. Firstborn from the Dead
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Present-Day Significance of Christ's Resurrection
Q4. What assurance do you have that you will be physically resurrected rather than experience disembodied immortality? What does it mean that Jesus is the "firstfruits" (1 Corinthians 15:20) and "firstborn" (Revelation 1:5) from the dead? A. My assurance that I will resurrect physically is due to the fact that Jesus Christ rose physically and the power that raised Him is available for me who believe in Him; thus I will also rise from the dead. To Him be the glory.. Jesus being the first fruit means that He is the first to die and and rise physically to die no more. All others who believe in Him will also die and rise at His second coming and will live for ever. -
Q3. An Analogy for Baptism
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Present-Day Significance of Christ's Resurrection
Q3. How does Christ's death and resurrection provide an analogy for baptism according to Romans 6:3-5 and Colossians 2:12? According to Ephesians 2:4-6, while being "raised with Christ" is still spiritual, not physical, in what way does this union impart real spiritual power? A. Our immersion in water at baptism is synonymous to Christ's dead on the cross and burial in the grave while our rising out from the water at baptism represents His resurrection from the dead. Spiritually, by Christ's resurrection, we are raised with Him positionally and seated with Him in the right hand of God to reign with in Heaven. -
Q2. Validating our Salvation
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. The Present-Day Significance of Christ's Resurrection
Q2. In what way does Christ's resurrection somehow validate that we are saved and forgiven by God? If we didn't believe Christ had been actually raised from the dead, how might we have doubts about our salvation? A. In line with the song "....because he lives I can face tomorrow...." we can say for sure that Jesus rose from the dead to live again in heaven, so we can died and rise to life and live with Him in heaven for eternity. If we do not believe that Christ rose from the dead, we cannot have faith that we will rise to salvation after death. -
Q1. What kind of credibility would Jesus' ministry have had if he were not raised from the dead, especially when he predicted it ahead of time? In what way is the resurrection God's seal of approval on him? A. Jesus's ministry would not have been credible if He had not been risen given His earlier prophesy of His resurrection. People would have just forgot Him and moved on. The Lord God Almighty declared at Jesus' baptism that He was His Son in Whom He was very pleased. But the evil world crucified Jesus thinking they had silent Him for ever. However, the Lord God raised Him to the shame of the evil one and placed Him in a place of honour at His right hand confirming that which He had declared about Jesus as His beloved Son in whom He was well pleased.

Q4. Compelling Proofs
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Convincing Proofs of Christ's Bodily Resurrection
Q4. Which of the various proofs for the resurrection seems the most compelling to you? Why? If you had a friend who wasn't sure about the resurrection, could you explain why you're sure that Jesus was raised from the dead? A. The undisturbed grave clothes of Jesus seems to me the most compelling proof of His resurrection because through resurrection the clothes will remain intact. Any other theory including theft, fainting etc will result in missing burial clothes or their disorderliness. Yes. -
Q3. How does the disciples' psychological state after the crucifixion provide excellent support for belief in the resurrection? A.Initially, the disciples were afraid, in hiding and did not believe the women story that Jesus had risen. Later, after their encounter with the risen Lord, they believed and preached about Him at the expense of their lives. Given this scenario, it is cast iron guaranty that they risked lives due to their certainty that Jesus rose.

Q2. The Theft Theory
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Convincing Proofs of Christ's Bodily Resurrection
Q2. On the theft theory, what motive might the disciples have to take Jesus' body? What motive might the Romans have? The Jews? Joseph of Arimathea? A. The disciples had no motive to steal the body of Jesus neither did the Romans, the Jews or any other. -
Q1. What do you think motivates liberal Christian scholars to explain away the bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ? Why would they claim that it is unhistorical more than some other event in the first century? A. One of their their claim is that Christ resurrection cannot be proved scientifically. They also claim that the resurrection of Christ cannot be explained historically. Everything about Christ including the resurrection is historic as it tells of His story, God's intervention in the history of man

Q5. What is the difference between Jesus' resurrection and his ascension? How do the two fit together? In what sense is the ascension the completion of the resurrection? A. Jesus's resurrection refers to His victory over death while His ascension refers to His return heaven to be glorified by His Father The two are related in the sense that He rose to ascend into heaven

Q3. (Luke 24:12; John 20:6-8) What about the grave clothes brought Peter and John to faith? What was so peculiar about them? A. The grave clothes were undisturbed proving that Jesus Divinely came out by the resurrection power from the grave clothes. Anything otherwise would have scattered the neat arrangement of the clothes. This boosted the faith of the disciples.

Q2. What similarities do you find in the resurrection accounts? Based on the agreements between the accounts, what seems to have happened? A. Some of the similarities in the resurrection accounts included the following: 1. Jesus died and was buried 2. The tomb was empty on Easter morning 3. Some Disciples mistook some appearances as that of Jesus 4. The disciples proclaimed the resurrection In Jerusalem These agreements buttress the case for the resurrection of Jesus Christ

Q1. What differences do you find between the various resurrection accounts? How do you account for differences in eyewitness testimony? How might these differences add to the credibility of the witnesses? A. Some of the differences are about the number of women that went to the grave, the purpose of the visit and the type of cloth that Jesus was wrapped with. These differences do not change the fact that Jesus's resurrection is real.

Q4. Why did Jesus' enemies heed his prediction of being raised on the third day even more than his disciples? Did his enemies expect him to rise? Did his followers? A. Jesus enemies remembered the prophesy of Jesus resurrection but I don't think they believed that He would rise. If they believed, they would not have asked for the grave to be secured by soldiers to prevent His disciples from STEALING the body from the grave. I think His followers too did not believe until after the resurrection.

Q3. (John 11:23-25) Q. What do you think Jesus meant when he said, "I am the resurrection and the life"? What role will Jesus play in the resurrection of the dead? A. Jesus is the resurrection because at the His second coming, both the dead and the living will rise.
