How great to know that the Mighty God keeps and watches over me. It is reassuring and I feel safe in danger. Oh that we should never forget that no matter the danger He is there for us. Inrease our faith in you Lord God.

Psalm 91 teaches us that when in danger we can have faith in God because He is able to protect and deliver us. In fact when we are afraid, we should run and take cover under His protective wings as little chicks do when threatened by danger. We learn from this Psalm that because God is with us (in us) and is our fortress and strength, we have the authority to overcome all the power of the enemy. God promises to protect, rescue, answer when we call, be with us in trouble, deliver, honor, satisfy us with long life and to show us his salvation.

The Psalmist referred to God as the Rock that was higher than him. This showed that he could be adequately protected from the enemy by the towering Mighty God. He also referred to God as his Refuge, a Strong Tower. This further buttress his security as the enemy could not easily reach him as he was protected by such formidable protection. Another image used for God's protection for him was the "wings" of God. This imagery is derived from the protective tendency of a bird that shields its chicks from attack by coverying with the chicks with its wings. Yet another another image used is a tent. Being in God's tent implies being close to God as contrasted to when the Psalmist initially felt overwhelmed by problems felt as being at the "ends of the earth" ie feeling far away from God.

Humility and faith are both necessary when we apporoach God whether in diffulties or not. God is a Great, mighty, powerful and holy King. Therefore, we should humble ourselves before him. He is our deliverer, saviour, provider, protector and is merciful, loving, kind, gracious and will always meet us at the point of our needs. We should thus have faith in Him.

It is wonderful to realise that God thinks about me, even me, a wretched sinner! What amazing love, mercy and grace! This realisation leads me to praise the Name of the Almighty God. Thank you Lord. I am reminded now that you have plans for me, plans that are for my good. Plans for future prosperity and hope. These plans canot be thwarted by any one. Praise God.

After pouring out his heart to God in pain and desperation (a typical human reaction to challenges), the Psalmist tuened to praise to demonstrate his trust and faith in God who was able to deliver him from whatever difficult circumstances he found himself. This experience teaches us that we are free to express or emotions of pain and fear to God. We should however recognise that He is able to deliver and save us from such difficult and painfull circumstaces that we find ourselves. This should lead us into spontaneous praise and worship of God. Praise, a language of faith is necessary especially in our pryaers of desperation because God is pleased to see us turn to him in faith despite our situation.

David had the courage to ask God for something because he knew God as a merciful, loving, forgiving and gracious God who was ever ready to forgive and accept his children back when they return to him.

The reasons given in Psalm 98 for praising God are: for His salvation, He is a righteous God, He is faithful he is a loving God. He will come with judgement when the rigteous ones will receive rewards while the wicked will be punished. ;

The reasons we should worship God as contained in Psalm 95 are beacause God is our God, shephard, Creator and Mighty. The cildren of God who left Egypt for the promised land, most of them did not enter the promised land because of disobedience. The waring in this Psalm is thus a reminder that our worship should include total obedience to God or else we will not please the Lord.

Psalm 150 teaches us the need to praise God. The reason we should praise Him is because of his wonderful works of creation and love. Everthing that has breath should praise Him with intruments.

Dwelling togeteher in unity is difficult in times like this when selfishness, greed and intollerance dominates the hearts of people

We can instruct our children on rigteous living by meditating on this Psalm at our family alter from time until the principles taught are understood and appreciated by the children. Some of the topics covered in Psaml 15 are: - Moral integity - Fairness - Clear allegince to God - Living without greed - keeping our word(our oaths)
-
The Psalmist wants us to be reminded of what we already know- that the rigteous prospers but the wicked perishes. He knew then that people know what they ought to do but dont always do them. A reminder that they will prosper if they do righteous thigns will motivate them to do them.

Recognition that God loves us is the basis of all faith. For God so loved the world that he gave...; God's love result in giving, giving provisions (meeting our needs), providing protection, providing salvation etc. Thus any time we are in need or in trouble, remembering that God loves us and will meet us at the point of our needs should motivate us to have faith in Him. Paul & Silas knew God's love and thus had the boldness to burst into songs of praise when they were in prison. They knew He woud deliver them and He did. In my life, when ever I face difficult moments, I will remember how he had delivered me in the past from difficult situations, and my faith will be rekindled.

The Psalmist was feeling depressed and frustrated bcause of problems created by his enemies. There was fear and anxiety about his safety. He combated the problem of fear and depression by seeking the Lord who was the Saviour who could rescue and deliver him from his probles. He also talked to himself to put his hope in the Lord. These motivated him to hang on. I am currently having serious challenges at my place of work that some times makes me to wonder whether God is still there for me. Going back to His Word and remembering His promises always fan my faith to grow again and again. Remembering how he has delivered me in the past when I faced similar situatuations assure me that He may delay in answring me now but He will surely come to my rescue. Lord I thank you because you are always faithful even when I am not some times. Help me to hang on even when the storm of life is firece and frightening.

By seeking to dwell in the house of the Lord the Psalmist had a desire to be close to God. It was a desire for intimacy. This intimacy guarateed protection in times of trouble. To seek the face of God, the Psalmist expresed desire to have audience with God. He needed God's attention to his prayers, to his needs. At the end, he was confident of Go's presence (thus protection) and attention (having his his prayers answered by God)

The wonder of creation led him to praise, surrender to God for mercy, love and guidance. Thus in verses 23-24, he prayed that God would examine him and to lead him in the path that is right. He wanted to continue be right in the eyes a God whom nothing is hidden.

The first 6 verses of psalm 19 show how God is revealed in his creation. His creation reveals Power, beauty, glory and attributes of God that show how awesome He is. Verses 7-13 on the hand look at the law of the Lord through his Word that is valuable and sweet. The link is that medidation in either the creation of God or His Word can bring to the surface, an overwhelming knowledge of God that in turn brings joy, peace in his presence. In verse 14, David's desire and request are that he will please God in what he says with his mouth and what he ponders in his heart.

Psalm 8 reveals God as a great and majestic creator of heaven and earth. Man is nothing compares to God in majesty, infinte wisdom, knowledge, power, domnion etc. God in his mercy and love gave man authority to rule over his creation. We however have a responsibility to manage his creation within his set plan.

The Christians should look forward to the resurrection because it will be a moment when the bodies of the dead will rise to be united with their spirits. We that are alive will then be united with them and live with our Lord Jesus Christ. Some Christians however do not look forward to this wonderful moment because they cannot see how the bodies that would have been decomposed and changed into to diffenrent element could be raised to life. This is however a faith issuse, believing that since the Bible said it will be so, we ought to believe it, even when we do not understand how it will be done.

Q1. Rapture and Resurrection
haar replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 5. The Christian Hope of Resurrection at the Last Day
The word is resurrection. The resurrection will take place when the Lord Jesus shall appear in the heaven and the trumpet shall sound. Both the righteous and the righteous will rise, the former to glory and the latter to judgment.
