Q1. Anchor of our Hope
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus, Our High Priest Forever (Hebrews 6:13-7:28)
Because our God is our refuge or the Rock of our salvation, when we have fled to Him in His salvation for us, we have fled and are entirely safe in Him and not anything nor anyone can remove us from our Savior -
Q4. Patient Endurance
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 5. Warnings Against Apostasy (Hebrews 5:11-6:12)
Our need to exercise both faith and patience for the long haul (or the long race) before us has the effect of being with the Lord Jesus from day one of our being born-again to throughout eternity with Him. He has us in the palm of His hand so we need to be more and more conformed to His likeness as we grow in Him every day and as we keep our eyes and our hearts on Him and loving and obeying Him daily in our Christian lives, then we have the proper perspective towards our Lord God through His only begotten Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. We need to resist the subtle temptation of thinking that our salvation comes because of anything we do or say; rather, it is totally on Christ -

Q4. Learning Obedience
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Jesus, Our Sympathetic High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-5:10)
Our Lord Jesus was already perfect in His humanity as well as in His being God The Son, but He learned perfect obedience to God His Father from all the passion and sufferings He went through during His whole life; but particularly in the Garden of Gethsemane where He learned to be perfectly and completely submitted to His Father -
Q3. Coming Boldly
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 4. Jesus, Our Sympathetic High Priest (Hebrews 4:14-5:10)
We should approach the throne of grace with boldness and confidence because the Lord Jesus Christ, the King of kings and Lord of lords, has invited us to do so because we belong to Him and thus can call His Father, -
Q4. The Living, Active Word of God
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Jesus, the Giver of Rest (Hebrews 3:1-4:13)
These two verses are directly related to the whole passage for a couple of reasons: one being that if a person ignores the Word of God, especially about the salvation the Lord Jesus offers to them by the grace of God, then they are in deep trouble as the Word of God (the Holy Bible) will someday expose them for who they really are as unbelievers at the Day of Judgment. Another thing God -

Q2. Hardened by Sin

Q1. Holding On to Faith
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. Jesus, the Giver of Rest (Hebrews 3:1-4:13)
The readers of this Book of Hebrews were tempted to return to their Old Testament practices, including the animal sacrifices, instead of totally believing and giving of themselves to Christ Jesus, and believing in Him that He was indeed the final, last sacrifice they would ever need to return to a relationship with God and to have all of their sins forgiven by Him so they needed to believe, trust and to -
Q3. Bringing to Glory
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Jesus, Who Tastes Death for Everyone (Hebrews 2:5-18)
This is exactly what the Lord Jesus Christ did when He lovingly died on the cross for us as His people and then was resurrected from the dead to return to heavenly glory; so we who believe and trust in Him will go to glory as His -
Just as the First Adam, as representative of the human race, tasted death upon his act of sinful rebellion against the Lord God and became a curse upon all of mankind to follow him; the Second Adam became a curse for us when He went to the cross to be put to death to be substituted for us who believe upon Him for the wrath of the Lord God upon all of our sins; thus He tasted death for us by His death upon the cross as our representative of God

Q1. The Value of Suffering
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Jesus, Who Tastes Death for Everyone (Hebrews 2:5-18)
These are really tough questions to answer and many books have been written on suffering by both Christians and non Christians, so I am sure not one of us understands the depths of suffering that our Lord went through nor what some of us go through in suffering, but I -
Q4. Miracles and Faith
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Jesus, the Father's Own Son (Hebrews 1:1-2:4)
The truth of salvation has been confirmed in me in numerous ways, but it all boils down to the fact that the Lord has brought me to Himself through His Holy Spirit to be born-again into the forever family of God, and He has changed me (and will continue to change or transform me daily into the likeness of the Lord Jesus Christ. The miracles of this happening to little old me are that He chose me to be saved before the foundations of the world were established and will continue His wonderful work in me until it is perfectly completed when I go home to heavenly glory to be with Him and to be like Him forever in His glory! I believe that Christians still see signs and wonders today, mostly in seeing the salvation of many people around them and their changed lives as a result, but also in healings by the Lord Jesus (as well as by the Holy Spirit using the hands and means of doctors to heal people) sometimes, but I also believe that the picture of the early church of the apostles -

Q1. The Idea of "Son"
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Jesus, the Father's Own Son (Hebrews 1:1-2:4)

Q23. Fulfilling the Law
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3.1. Fellow Citizens with the People of God (2:11-22)
Jesus Christ, The Messiah, totally fulfilled the Mosaic Law entirely, in all three aspects of it (moral, ceremonial and civil) by His life lived here on earth totally without sin, spot nor blemish, and upon His death at Calvary, He completely demolished the ceremonial laws of the Aaronic priesthood when the thick curtain was torn in two from the top down to the bottom (Matt. 27:51), thus permitting the way now for believers to go into the inner Holy of Holies to meet with God there at the mercy seat anytime they desired to do so (instead of just once per year under the Mosaic Law and only the high priest at that time could do so without being put to death). This is the significance for us of what Jesus did for us when He totally fulfilled the Mosaic Law in its entirety for us to be totally forgiven for all of our sins and to be brought into fellowship now with God our heavenly Father at all times and places. For the Jew, it didn
