Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 11. Let Us Trust: Perspective of Faith (11:7-12:2)
Some of these characteristics of a believer would, as I said before this, be not getting too attached to earthly or worldly things; to keep running the race before us with our eyes on the goal of being with the Lord Jesus Christ forever in eternal life as our finish line; keep growing in our knowledge and wisdom in the Lord and His Word to us; to obey Him in doing His will for us; getting our minds off of concerns for worldly things and onto things of the above of heavenly glory (Philippians 4:8-9); and, as did the Apostle Paul, -

Q1. The Nature of Faith
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 10. Let Us Believe: Nature of Faith (11:1-6, 11)
Faith in God and all of the things He has done and will do for us, His children, is what we believe as Christians and put our trust in Him as we believe, even though we often cannot see the end results of His promises, in what He has done and will do for us and in the world. Faith does it all for us who put our faith (or trust) in our living Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ, and our faith in Him and His Word to us will be totally fulfilled someday for us in heavenly glory when we -
The type of sins expressed in this phrase are those of the unbeliever deliberately rejecting and hardening his/her heart to the Lord Jesus Christ; and instead of accepting the Lord as his/her Lord and Savior, turns away to unbelief and apostasy and keeps turning or running away from the Lord. I believe that this is exactly the unforgivable sin and it cannot be committed by anyone who truly knows the Lord through the conviction of the Holy Spirit and God

Q2. Meeting Together
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Let Us Draw Near: Confidence of Faith (Hebrews 10:19-39)
The prime motive for meeting together with other Christians is to worship and thank the Lord for whom He is and all He has done for us; and to encourage each other on in their Christian lives to grow and mature in the Lord until the Day of His Second Coming. Our usual motivation, which leads to not attending church or a small group meeting, is the selfish notion that we attend so that God will bless us, not so we can bless Him and the others who are attending. Probably this is one of the main reasons why some people get out of habit of attending church; but another one is by pure laziness -

Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Let Us Draw Near: Confidence of Faith (Hebrews 10:19-39)

Q2. Redeemer and Ransom
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Jesus, Our Willing Sacrifice (Hebrews 9:13-10:18)
Jesus Christ serves as our Mediator between God the Father and us because of the new covenant that He ratified and completed by the shedding of His precious blood at Calvary. He is our ransom from our sins because He bought us back to our heavenly Father from our sinful ways and gave us His own life so that we now have new lives; we -
They were unable to cleanse or perfect the conscience because they were external and not within their hearts. God has always looked for a tender, willingly obedient heart of believers under the old as well as the new testaments, and those who have such hearts do have their consciences cleansed by the Holy Spirit (i.e., David in Psalm 51:1-11, etc.) but neither the external rituals of the sacrificial regulations (including circumcision and baptism) cleansed the believers

No, the Old Covenant provided only for forgiveness of unintentional sins and not for intentional, active, and rebellious sins against God. In fact, such rebellious sins were likened in the Old Testament to the sins of witchcraft and other horrible things. Only the New Covenant of Christ provides for not only our unintentional sins, our intentional, active, rebellious sins, and the sins of our thoughts as well as our actions against God and our fellow people. Only through the blood of Christ, given to us for the forgiveness of all our sins at the cross, can we be granted complete forgiveness for our sins

Q4. Christ, our High Priest
Don W replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus, Our High Priest Forever (Hebrews 6:13-7:28)
Our Lord Jesus Christ is described in verse 26 as: holy (for only God is perfectly holy so thus, He is God); harmless (totally without sin ever in His life); undefiled; separate from sinners (He is both entirely sinless and has been exalted to His heavenly place at God -
