This is the first study that I take and I am very happy to start with it, because I know that it will be an important part of my spiritual growth. I am married and have three kids. I work as an elementary teacher. I have great expectations about this study and the comments from the other people. Thanks for this opportunity to learn more. God bless you all.

  1. The expression of God as a Spring of Living Water talks about the Living God; that is His essence. That life that never ends can be passed on to me, if I make Him be my only source. The water coming out from such a source is pure, fresh, good for health. Once you drink it, you will be completely satisfied, but when you become thirsty again, you won
  2. I am not sure of the reason why we tend to try our own solutions first, instead of calling the Lord right away. Maybe it is because of a false pride that we feel when we think that we got something by ourselves. However, that is a lie! Everything we get and manage to do is because God allows us to do it. So, if we really want God to be our Helper and Shepherd, we must call on Him first and be ready to obey Him without hesitation. Otherwise, we won
  3. I would say that I acknowledge my need to rely on God every day, and innumerable times during the years since I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior. If I didn
  4. I think Abraham was actually expecting God to do something about the sacrifice, either to provide it or to raise Isaac from the dead, as Paul says in Hebrews 11:19. He was certain that God would do something special, just because that had been His promise to Abraham, so the man might have been expecting to see how the Lord would keep His promise. Besides, the passage tells that Abraham walked for three days, enough time to think and go back! I have had the experience of receiving a last-minute provision from God many, many times, in the most surprising and unexpected ways. And this will always happen, no matter under what circumstances, with only one condition: that we show the same
  5. God is our keeper because He watches over us, takes care of us, protects us, and saves us. He holds us in His hands. He guards us in all our dimensions: physical, psychological, and spiritual. He guides us and protects us against evil in all types of surroundings (social, environmental), simply because He loves us and is in control of everything that may happen to us.
  6. God is called a Rock meaning stronghold, solid ground, strong basis, firm and fair God, unremovable foundation, solid walled place, unchanging God, supporting place, trustworthy and reliable Savior, perfect and fair Creator, source of faith. A rock is extremely important in Palestine, where in the desert terrible sand storms occur and make people get lost, become blind, suffocate, and even die. Under those circumstances, the only possible way to survive is by finding shelter under a rock.
  7. God is a shield for us because He prevents our enemies
  8. If the believer wants to be protected by God, he must confidently remain in God
  9. Yahweh gave the kings and rulers in this world the authority to govern, as His representatives. They should try really hard to rule as God our Righteousness would, and they will be judged about this aspect. A nation that secularizes his symbols, pledges and currency is showing an overt rejection to God the king, and will suffer the consequences of such a rebellious attitude. It loses its sense of purpose and justice, which will inevitably lead to violence and general crisis.
  10. The personal implications of God being my king are that I no longer am driving the car, but God is and I am seating at the passenger
  11. Giving tributes was an inevitable part of being the vassals of a king, if they wanted to get the benefits from such a relationship. Tithing was the way of paying tributes to God in the old Testament, because they were necessary for supporting the people who lived devoted to the service of the Lord or for those in need. Tithing, then, was an external proof of the acceptance of God as a King. For those who live under the New Covenant, tithing is probably not a law sine qua non like it used to be, but it certainly is something that God demands from us in order to show Him our obedience and submission. God promises great blessings for those who tithe, and tithing is used as a financial source to sponsor the church activities and demonstrate the Lord that He is at the first place in our hearts.
  12. We Christians are God's arms and feet. God wants to use us to show His love to people. We have the commitment to make His love real and easy to feel to everyone around us, believers and non-believers. If we are aware of the importance of reflecting the character of Jesus Christ, then we should assume the same commitment that He showed in favor of the poorest and weakest people. Every congregation must have a ministry for social help, and all its members must contribute to expand God's kingdom of love, solidarity, and equity. This is a sign of our true faith and love to God, as stated in 1 John 3:10: "Here is the clear difference between God's children and the devil's children: those who do not do what is right or do not love others are not God's children." And 3:17-18: "If we are rich and see others in need, yet close our hearts against them, how can we claim that we love God? My children, our love should not be just words and talk; it must be true love, which shows itself in actions."
  13. The first thing a believer must accept and acknowledge is that Jesus Christ is THE truth and He was THE perfect model in every ethical and moral way. There are some moral values that are universal (such as the right to life and solidarity) and accepted in virtually all human societies. The Bible presents them as principles, and we must understand that these are different from values, which can be culturally shaped. The summary of God
