We are consecrated by the blood of the Lamb and we are His prized possession and therefore holy. Hence there is no more blemish that may mar the relationship with Him.

It is scary because some people fear it excludes them from God's grace with no opportunity of redemption. It is comforting since God has predestined us to be in His grace and we should be happy in that knowledge. Likewise Ephesians were selected to be in the predestined plan of God and hence it is to be praised.

It means to be enveloped in the love of Jesus Christ and be led by it. You are no longer the same any more
