  1. Q4. Why did Jesus' enemies heed his prediction of being raised on the third day even more than his disciples? Did his enemies expect him to rise? Did his followers? Because in theor eyes if Jesus did rise as He said He would the people would believe in Him and the pharisees and the other groups would lose their following. After the trial and His death they began to remember what He said and they posted guards and placed a large stone in front of the tomb. The disciples did not expect him to rise, after his resurrection they believed the words He had spoken.
  2. Q3. (John 11:23-25) What do you think Jesus meant when he said, "I am the resurrection and the life"? What role will Jesus play in the resurrection of the dead? Jesus was the firstfruit of them that slept. In Christ all shall be made alive. If He had not risen we would not have the hope of a resurrection. It is in Him we live, move and have our being. It is all in Him, our life, death, resurrection. The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout , with the voice of the archangel and with the trump of God.
  3. Q2. (John 5:28-29; Acts 24:15) According to scripture, both the righteous and unrighteous will experience resurrection. What will be the result of resurrection for the righteous? The righteous will spend eternity in th presence of the Lord. The trumpet will sound and the dead in Christ will rise first and those that are alive shall be cought up together with them in the clods to meet the Lord in the air.
  4. Q1. How does Job's vision of resurrection (Job 19:25-27) differ from the Jews' former understanding of death as Sheol? What is progressive revelation? Job saw beyond the resurrection, because he says I know my redeemer liveth and he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth. The Jews saw the grave as a place of despair,a place where you do not enjoy being in the presence of God. Progressive revelation is when God reveals knowldge to us as we have the ability to receive it.
