  1. Q2. What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession should we emulate in our own prayers? Upon what logical grounds does Moses offer this bold appeal to God? What do you think it means to "pray the promises of God"? How does knowing the Bible help you get your prayers answered? How does this help our prayers be within God's will? Q.2a) What aspects of Moses' prayer of intercession (a prayer to God on behalf of another) should we emulate in our own prayers? By looking up all these words I have learned the meaning of them. God was ready to destroy the whole nation again because of sin. Moses pleaded for mercy on the people and God spared them from God
  2. Q1. Read Exodus 32:1-14. What had the people done that was so bad? How can a loving God be angry? Is God's sentence to destroy Israel and raise up a new nation through Moses justified? Q.1a) What had the people done that was so bad? They had made themselves an idol to which they offered sacrifices to and bowed down to worship their god, they had broken the first and second commandments of God. "And God spoke all these words, saying: 'I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of Egypt, out of the land of slavery.'You shall have no other gods before Me.' 'You shall not make for yourself a carved image--any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth, for I the Lord your God is jealous God, Exodus 20:1-6 Q.1b) How can a loving God be angry? How can a loving God not be angry? He heard his people
  3. Q4. Why should we continually ask forgiveness? How can unforgiveness on our part block God's blessing? How can unforgiveness block God's forgiveness? Q.4a) Why should we continually ask forgiveness? We should continually ask forgiveness of our sins because if we(I) don't then to me that would mean that I am okay with sinning and I am not ready to take responsibility for my actions. But if I continually ask forgiveness then I am acknowledging that I need to take responsibility for what I do or how I act. I need to ask God for for forgiveness in order to grow in Christ Jesus. Q.4b) How can unforgiveness on our part block God's blessing? I have to be willing to forgive myself and someone else if I want to grow with Christ. But if I continuously refuse to forgive then I am not allowing God to run my life I am saying that I don't need God to direct my life and I am just fine on my own.(but I am not). So by not forgiving I am not allowing God's Will to flow through me. Q.4c) How can unforgiveness block God's forgiveness? If I don't forgive my self or others then God won't forgive me. Just like 1John 1:9 If we confess with our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. Only when we (I) forgive we (I am) are forgiven.
  4. Q3. Why do we seek to be independent of asking anyone for help? Why do we seek to be independent of God? Why should we ask God to "give" us daily bread so long as we can earn a living for ourselves? Q.3a) Why do we seek to be independent of asking anyone for help? For me I think by asking for help I am admitting that I can't do it alone. And if I can't do it alone then I am not independent. Growing up I use to always hear you need to be independent and do things for your self because no one will do them for you. So by asking someone for help that is a "dependency on others" goes against things we (I) grew up learning. Q.3b) Why do we seek to be independent of God? God's will is so simple to follow and so humbling, that we(I) think we seek to be independent is because God's promises could take a life time for us(me) to happen. And society strives on the NOW syndrome. Because you are worth it you deserve it. Its all about YOU (me). When in reality if we give to God what is God's he will Bless us (me) in many ways. But we fight siding with God, because Satan offers instant gratification. Satan offers it NOW with the promise of no ramifications. Then when you go for what Satan offers there is always a PRICE To PAY and it is never what we want to pay. Self respect, our family, our friends, our life. Q.3c) Why should we ask God to "give" us daily bread so long as we can earn a living for ourselves? I have just realized that having a job and supporting myself is a very lonely thing if you can't share what you do in life. If we(I) pray for guidance of my income and how and where I should spend it. The Lord directs me. I don't know what verse it was in the Bible because I am new to the Bible but it mentions giving with a happy heart. God has freely given to us (I) and we should freely give to others. So by asking God to "give" us our daily bread I think he is Referring to if you seek the answers in the Bible and follow God's plan then he will give us the bread of life. Because Jesus said as he broke "BREAD" Take this bread and eat it in remembrance of me. So Jesus is the bread of life and if we ask God for the Bread of Life then we are constantly asking that LORD AND SAVIOUR to be us.
  5. Q.1a) What about our lives and words "hallow" the name of our Father? Recognizing that God is God and praising Him for everything in my life even if it isn't what I "really" wanted. Saying a prayer when I get up, communicating with God the Father in every aspect of my life. Q.1b) What desecrates and besmirches it? I believe that this means to not live what I believe, I confess with my heart and go out and my mouth or actions don't coincide with my heart of confession. I believe this to be a great shame on my part. I am working with God on this I trust and believe that the Lord will help me. Q.1c) How should we "hallow" the Father when we begin to pray? We should always remember that God is our Heavenly Father and with out Him there would be nothing. We need to acknowledge that He is the Alpha and Omega, the sacrifice He made for all of us.Through him anything is possible. So when we pray we need to give God all the praise he so deserves. Q.2a In what sense are we asking that the Father's kingdom should come? We are asking the Father that his kingdom be born in the hearts of all for His power and glory, so when Jesus comes back He won't have to leave anyone behind Q.2b Why are we asking for the Father's will to be done here on earth? The only will that really matters on earth or in heaven is God's will. So often I run with my own ideas and only end up hitting a brick wall I often ask myself why not just let go and let God? It is way less painful that the brick wall and in the end His will always reigns. So we need to pray even the smallest thing in life. We need to step back and let the Fathers will take over our will. He will never leave us nor forsake us, we as humans just have to "Let Go And Let God" for His Will, will be done no matter what. Q.2c How should this prayer affect our living? I believe that by living and believing in this prayer it makes us stronger. I know first hand it is very hard to forgive someone for what they did, but if I forgive them then it takes up less energy. I find it exhausting to be mad at someone. So I believe that this prayer helps build character and brings us closer to God. Because if we are doing God's will and preparing for the Kingdom to come hearing the words from Jesus "well done" makes everything in life worth it.
