I believe that faith is dead when unaccompanied by action, because how are you going to express your faith if no one is there to witness that you are a child of God? Your deeds are the result of your faith although you could do good deeds without faith, but you could not have faith without good deeds. I used to discriminate against plenty of different type of people or sinners. Even as a Christian I used to discriminate, but it was only when I became a born again Christian did I realise what I was doing. I am not sure if I still discriminate against sinners or not, but I pray that if I do that the Lord would open my eyes and help me to realise what I am doing wrong so that I can repent and change my point of view. I am not trying to make a good impression on anyone neither should any Christian try to do so. We have an obligation to be different, not to impress others, but to be examples for others so that they can see and witness how great our God is and how never ending is love is for us.

To tame the tongue and caring for the poor are the prime test, because these are actions that Christians witness when we are amongst others. It is important to have quiet time with the Lord to build your relationship with Him and that is where faith comes into play, but if your faith does not flow over into actions then your faith is meaningless.

The Perfect law that James refers to is to love your God with all your heart, soul, mind and power. The royal law is to love your neighbour as yourself. This Word that John refers to (according to my understanding) is Jesus Christ, so what James refers to here is that God give us spiritual birth by His will through Jesus Christ. I think that the significance is that God who is all powerful and almighty loves us extremely. He loves us so much that he did not spare His own son which just proves how much he loves us. Now who would dare to be against the people that God loves so much? Those who are against us are also against God and we all know that no one would stand a chance if they go against God. Our enemies are the non-believers in Christ. Those who choose not to love him and to be called according to His purpose. The statement makes me feel safe and it gives me the assurance that all will be well or better for the future. Whatever might happen to me in years to come does not matter. What is important is that God loves me and all things work for the better. We know that the end is coming and what we receive when the end is here will be far better than what we experienced in our past.
