Q3. Christmas Hardships
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. The Shepherds' Sign of the Manger (Luke 2:1-20)
Poor Mary was due to deliver any day, riding a donkey wasn't the most comfortable thing being in labor I'm sure! There is always hardships being a consistent Christian! It happened to Jesus, and all the believers past. Many don't believe the Good News and will argue with you, call you a flake and in some countries, put you in prison or kill you for your faith. If you just go with the flow, no feathers get ruffled and the True message doesn't get told. -
Q1. Naming the Current Rulers
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 3. The Shepherds' Sign of the Manger (Luke 2:1-20)
By naming these rulers, it's another way of prooving that Jesus did exist. -
Q5. Naming the Child
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
Joseph was righteous and trusted God. Joseph was the legal father of Jesus, therfore, Jesus inherited what ever was Joseph's, including the lineage making Him a decendant of David. -
Q4. The Prophecy of Immanuel
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
The prophecy was fulfilled when Mary concieved and gave birth to Jesus and called him Immanuel (God is with us) -
3. The Name Jesus
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
Jesus' Name means God Saves. I think that God giving the name to both Mary and Joseph seperately was a way of confirming that it was indeed from Him. -
Q2. The Character of Joseph
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
Mary's only other options were living with her parents, becoming a house servant, or a prostitute. Joseph showed trust in his God, mercy, and love for Mary. -
Q1. Son of a Carpenter
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. Joseph, the Stand-In Father (Matthew 1:18-25)
Jesus learned the trade himself. He learned the skills of patience, listening, careful planning, dedication, and hard work. -
Q5. Titles of St. Mary
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Mary, The Virgin Mother (Luke 1:26-45)
These titles are appropriate to describe who Mary was and is. I think we hesitate because people may think we're worshipping Mary like we worship God. -
Q4. Mary's Response to the Angel
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Mary, The Virgin Mother (Luke 1:26-45)
Mary's response was total trust. We should be just as willing to trust and obey God! Mary accepted when she said, " Let it be as you said. I am the hand maiden of the Lord." We consent to obeying God. -
Q3. The Virgin Conception
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Mary, The Virgin Mother (Luke 1:26-45)
[/font] Jesus is Holy, the true Son of God. The Christian message is built on the truth of the Virgin birth, proving Jesus is the Son of God. -
Q2. Mary's Question to the Angel
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Mary, The Virgin Mother (Luke 1:26-45)
Mary's question rose from Faith, but Zexhariah's question rose from Unbelief. -
Q1. The Angel's Announcement
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 1. Mary, The Virgin Mother (Luke 1:26-45)
Ruler over the house of David, the forever King over the house of Jacob, and the Son of God. -
I need to start living more holy, being about the Lords business. Praying more, reaching out more, sharing the gospel with others and living according to the life of Jesus!

Q4. Outside the City
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #8. We Shall See His Face (Rev 21-22)
Many do good deeds, but it won't get them into heaven. Only by confessing and recieveing the Grace of God will we be saved. God cannot allow anything unholy to dwell with Him, we are to live holy, living the life we claim to have hrough Jesus. The way we live will determine wether we live with God or not. -
Q3. Holy City, Bride, Church
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #8. We Shall See His Face (Rev 21-22)
You put is so beautifully! -
Q3. Holy City, Bride, Church
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #8. We Shall See His Face (Rev 21-22)
Jesus sees His church as pure, unblemished, beautiful, and holy. -
The water of life represents Salvation here. It's free because Jesus already paid the price for it. I think we are to be the light and share the gospel with the world, and live by example so people can see Jesus through us and will want to come to Him and have what we already have!

Q1. Promises Fulfilled
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #8. We Shall See His Face (Rev 21-22)
In Heaven, god will live with us and not be separated from us. The promises can only be fulfilled in Heaven where nothing curruptible can enter. I think I most look forward to Having God dwelling with me for eternity! -
Q2. Compromising Standards
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
This is destructive to the faith because it tries to pull us away frrom the teachings that make us holy and righteous before God. If we ease up on what we're taught, then we quickly fall away and conform easily to the world's way of things. Our culture is basically becoming one of no rules, no accountability. When we speak out about the morals and values that bring about righteous behavior we are considered out dated & told to ease up. Sexual immorality is everywhere, making it hard to turn away without the proper quidence. It's destroying & perverting what is right and it will not go unpunished! -
Q1. First Love
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
The congragation losed it's first love when their focus shifts from Him and Gods word and is more involved in man made plans & teachings. Real love for Jesus shows in a church whose focus is worshiping and studying the Gospel. Where believers are doing His will and not their own. The church can get their first love back by turning away from all the things that lured it away in the first place. -
Q5. Christ and His Churches
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
This shows that Jesus was given all that the Father promised him, authority over all, a king for eternity. The church has the promise of greater things as well if we are faithful and obey His commands. Jesus fulfilled the prophecy of Messiah. He is all that He claimed to be so He can be trusted and believed. -
Q4. The Exalted Christ
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
This vision of Christ shows the King He is, the great authority and power. This is the Jesus who now sit's at the right hand of God. -
Q3. Comfort
Sherlynn replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
I know that Christians in China and Indonesia are persecuted, imprisioned, and even killed for their faith. Revelation reminds them that in the end God wins so we win! All that God promised them will be theirs forever. He is with us and knows all that we suffer and He will give us rest for all our labors here.
