Q2. (Revelation 6:9-11) What do we learn about the Church from what is revealed in the Fifth Seal? Where are these "souls" at the time of this scene? What does their proximity to the altar signify? Why were they killed? Why do they ask for vengeance? Is that a Christian prayer? What does the white robe represent? What do we learn from their instruction to "wait a little longer"? ____________________________________________________________ The fifth seal presents the martyrdom of the saints through out the world. Many will be killed by satanic opposition to their testimony of Christ. This was the Golden Altar of incense before the Throne. They were asking God to fulfil His promise, and bring judgment upon the one's that had slain them. The white robes represents their purity. God's promises had yet been fulfilled. Their were still saints that had yet to be martyred.

Q1. (Revelation 6) Who initiates this great storm of destruction represented by the Seven Seals? Against whom is it directed? Is it just? ____________________________________________________________ The seals represents the beginning of Christ's judgment of unbelievers on the earth during the tribulation period. The purpose is to punish unbelievers for their sins, and rejection of Christ. Christ has the right to judge the earth and it's people, because of His submission to the Cross.

Q5. (Revelation 5:13) What is the significance of the same quality of worship being offered to both God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son? What does this tell us about their relationship to each other? Their relationship to us? ____________________________________________________________ In Philippians 2: 10-11 Says, That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in Heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. He was recongnized by many people as a mere Man. But He was more than that- He was still the Son of God, who continued to possess the Devine nature. He regarded sinners as more important than himself, and was just as concerned with their needs as His own. We have to cultivate within ourselves this same attitude and express it to others.

Q4. Reigning with Christ
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
Q4. (Revelation 5:10) How can our destiny as believers include reigning? In what sense could we reign? In what sense do we serve as priests? In what sense are we a kingdom? ____________________________________________________________ Exodus 19: 5-6, says "Now therefore, if we will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine, and ye shall be unto me a Kinkdom of priests, and a holy Nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel. The law contained three elements: (1) Commandments revealing the righteousness of God; (2) Judgments expressing social requirements; and (3) ordiances directing the religious life of Israel. By keeping His covenant's, we can reign as Priests in His Kingdom, which is the body of Christ. -
Q3. Worthy Is the Lamb
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
Q3. (Revelation 5:9, 12) What made Jesus so worthy of opening the scroll and thus bringing history to its consummation? Why was this act so noteworthy and praiseworthy? ____________________________________________________________ He made the supreme sacrifice. Through the shedding of His blood on the Cross, for the atonement of our sins, and by conquering death throuh the Resurrection, that we may also conquer death through the resurrected body of Christ. He was the only one found worthy, because he was with out sin. He was blameless before the Father. All praises to the Lamb of God. -
Q2. These chapters contain many insights into worship that have been adopted by the Christian Church. What do you learn about Christian worship from chapters 4 and 5? Don't miss the basics. Your list might include 20 elements and concepts of worship -- or more. ____________________________________________________________ Three outbursts of praise and worship are directed toward Christ and the Father. (1) The beast and the Elders praise the Lamb for having redeemed them. (2) Angels also praise the Lamb for His Golry and Wisdom. (3) All of creation worships both the Father and the Son. As we come to know Christ in all of his glory, we should praise Him for all thing's. Prayer being the only way to communicate with God, we need to pray every day thank him, and praise Him for the Blessing in our live's.

Q1. Revelation Hymns
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #3. The Lion That Is the Lamb (Rev 4-5)
Q1. Many Christian hymns, songs, and choruses come from Revelation chapters 4 and 5. Which can you think of? ____________________________________________________________ Holy holy holy, Worthy is the Lamb, The burning bush, The Crystal Sea, Those golden bells, Blessed redeemer, Ten thounsand Angels, When the roll is called up yander. -
Q5. Criticism and Praise
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
Q5. Summarize the lessons of this chapter. What are the churches criticized for? What are they praised for? How should these observations shape the twenty-first century Church? ____________________________________________________________ God criticized many of the Church's because they turned from their first love. The love of the Church it's self. The Church of Jesus Christ. Most of them were living the pagan life, and wanting the Blessings of God at the same time. They were criticized for turning God's house into a den of theives, and idolatry. They were praised for their perseverance through persecution, soundness of faith, and devotion to Christ. We know that God judge's all sin, and sin is more prevalent in the Church today than every. We should learn from the Church of paul's day, and steer clear of the way of the world, and abide in the Lord Jesus Christ. -
Q4. Apathy
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
Q4. Why are so many churches a "hotbed of apathy"? How can we combat spiritual apathy and an insipid witness in ourselves? ____________________________________________________________ I feel it's because they lack the spirit of the living God in the their Church, and Church body. They have no personal relationship with the Father. Most Church's look at it as a business, and a job, ratter than preaching the gospel. Just preach what they want to hear. It's not easy to combat apathy, because of the worldly view of Christianity. The best way would be a shinning example of our Lord and saviour Jesus Christ. Let your light shine for all the world to see. -
Q3. Religious Compromise
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
Q3. Why do you think the religious compromise required by participating in heathen religious practices in the trade guilds was so spiritually destructive? What compromises do twenty-first century Christians struggle with? Let's not settle for trite legalisms about drinking and smoking. What are the real compromises that dilute vital Christianity? ____________________________________________________________ It was a way to lieu Christians into the pagan way of life, and by doing so they brough it into the Church. This is still going on in the the Church today. The compromisies they made then, we're making today. We struggle with the same problems today in the Church, preachers not preaching against sexual immorality. not preaching the blood of Christ, and the Cross, not preaching proper dress. We compromise our faith by not standing up for the truth. Jesus said,"And the truth will set you free". We compromise our salvation by interpreting the scriptures to mean what we want, not what they actually mean. -
Q2. Compromising Standards
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
Q2. Why would loosening of sexual standards to conform to the prevailing morals of the culture be destructive of vital Christian faith and witness? How has your culture tended to take the edge off your own Christian moral convictions or forced you to be quiet about them? ____________________________________________________________ The best reason I can think of, is the Bible teach's that sexual immorality is wrong, and I believe the Bible to be the ture word of God. Our culture is based upon the moals set forth in the teaching's of the Bilbe. If you tone down are loosen these standards, you destory the very foundation of our Christian Faith, and our culture. I will never relax my standards of morals tough in the Bible. These standards are God's gifts to us to live by. That we may live in righteousness. With out this we have no hope of enternal life. They may try to force me to be Quiet about my moral convictions, but that's all they can do, Is try. -
Q1. First Love
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #2. Letters to the Seven Churches (Revelation 2-3)
Q1. How can a local congregation lose its "first love" for Jesus? What are the signs of genuine love for Jesus in worship and ministry? How does the lack of love show up? How can a congregation regain this love? ____________________________________________________________ By turning away from the true teachings of the Bible. Such as the Ten Commandments, Immorality, and coveting. Genuine love is, devoting your whole self to loving God, and worshipping in a way that others will be Blessed. When we lose the ability to love our neighbor as thou self, it show's in all aspects of our Christian life. The only way to regain this first love, would simply be to repent as a congregation, and return to the body of Christ. -
Q5. Christ and His Churches
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
Q5. What is the significance of the exalted Jesus walking among the lampstands? (1:12-20) What does this teach us about the church? What does it teach us about Jesus ____________________________________________________________ He knows the hearts of men, and the sin that's in the Church, and He is warning them to turn from sin least they be judged. No matter how hard we try, there will always be sin in the Church. Satan's angel's are there every time the doors are opened. Christ Love's the Church, and wants us as his Disciple's to remove sin from the Church, so he can Bless us. -
Q4. The Exalted Christ
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
Q4. The vision of Christ among the lampstands (1:12-20) is much different than the Carpenter-Teacher who walked the roads of Galilee and Judea. Why? What overall emotions is this vision of Jesus among the lampstands designed to evoke in the reader? Why is this understanding of Jesus important to a balanced faith? ____________________________________________________________ In reguards to the "Golden Lampstands" being they represent the seven Churchs of asia. They are to be the light of the world. He (Christ) is the condition (salt) to meet the needs of the world. His mission (light) is to clearly shine forth into the darkness of human depravity. He make's it clear that he didn't come to destroy the law (of Moses) but rather show the fulfillment of the spiritual intention of the law. We have to understand the defference between the Old Testament law and the teaching's of Christ in the New Testament. (The old tradition allowed it.) ( The new Commanded it.) -
Q3. Comfort
Maxie replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #1 Christ in the Midst of the Lampstands (Rev 1)
Q3. In what countries are Christians presently experiencing tribulation or persecution for the faith? How can the Book of Revelation be a comfort and encouragement to them ____________________________________________________________ All though, all Christians around the world are being persecuted. the one's you hear about the most, are; Africa, Asia, China,Korea, Yemen, Zimbabwe. The only one you don't hear about is the United States of America. I think, to most people the book of Revelation, is a harsh and cruel book of God's wrath upon the Earth, and it's people. This is far from the truth. God is a just and loving God. He wants all people to be his Children, but he can not tolerate sin. Thereforth he must judge the sins of the world, and the wicked there in.
