Access to the Father is of utmost importance because it made relationship with Him possible. We are then able to benefit from His love and mercy. This is similar to having diplomatic relation as we are able to enjoy the rights of children of God and benefit from His amazing resources. We obtained this access through our Lord Jesus Christ Who first of all reconcile us with ourselves via His body and finally reconcile us with God through the cross. The fulfilment of the two great commandments is made possible because the hostility between us and between us and God has been removed by Jesus.

This power works in the Church, hence in us. Quantitatively, it is immeasurably more than we can ask for or imagin. This power is not very evident in the church because of our ignorance, lack of faith and relative inactivity. Exercising this power will bring glory to God because it is His power that is used for His purpose. He therefore only takes the glory.

I recall when our Church was asking the state Gov. for a parcel of land. We were then using a school classroom for worship. Our request was late by all standards since the whole place was already allocated. But as the Pastor of the Chuch, this scripture encouraged me and gave me extraordinary confidence. We approached and succeeded in getting the land. Christ is our big Boss. Members, go ahead and do exploits.

That God raised us up with Christ and seated us with Him in the heavenly realm means we have His power and authority to do His will.

Their "eyes" were closed and hence could not see His incomparable power. The problem was not with their natural eyes but with the "eyes of their hearts" or spiritual eyes. It takes God and God only to open these eyes. The power is available for us who believe. The power is like the mighty strength God exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.

Sitting at the right hand of God in the heavenly realm means God has enthroned Him above every other power or authority. That these spirit beigns are under His feet means that they have been conquered and are now totally subject to Him.
