Q1. (John 1:1-5, 14) When did Jesus glory and kingly authority have their origins? In what sense were they hidden while he was on earth? In what sense were they still present? There was never a time when Jesus glory and kingly authority did not exist. There was a time when He was on earth that He laid His power, glory aside. He went about as a man but He was still fully God. They were still present in His miracles, His wisdom, and at the transfiguration. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q3. Kingdom in Your Midst
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. The Glorious Kingdom of the Son of Man
Q3. (Luke 17:20-21) How do you understand Jesus' saying, "The Kingdom is within you" or "in your midst"? What does this teach us about Jesus? if I am in Christ and He is in me then His kingdom is in me and I am part of His kingdom and the Holy Spirit makes it real to me by His presence. When we gather together as believers the kingdom is within us and in our midst. When Jesus was on earth and the pharisees were questioning Him the kingdom was in their midst but they did not recognize Jesus because they didn't want to out of pride but the kingdom was still in their midst. There is a song that goes "He is here He is here He is moving among us, He is here He is here as we gather in His name, He is here He is here and He wants to work a wonder, He is here as we gather in His name". He says in Romans 8 He will never leave us and never forsake us. He is here in the midst of us always as He was with Shadrach, Meshach and Abenego in the fire and Daniel in the lions den. Sometimes in Spirit and sometimes in the form of a Man. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q4. Presence of the Kingdom
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. The Glorious Kingdom of the Son of Man
Q4. Is the Kingdom of God present now? In what sense? What are the present limitations of this Kingdom’s power, if any? When will the Kingdom of God be fully manifest to all? Yes the kingdom of God is present now in the Holy Spirit who resides in His people and through His Word which is more powerful than a two edged sword. I believe one of the limitations is the apathy of His people, also the quenching of the Spirit and the continuing presence of evil demonic spirits which are allowed to do 'their dirty work" so that the Lord can separate the sheep from the goats, refine us, grow our faith, and glorify Himself in the earth. One evidence of that will be when the nations gather against Israel in end days and are crushed by supernatural means and God will be glorified on the earth. Ezekiel 38:19-23 Then comes the Second Coming of our Lord to the earth in full glory. There Will be no opposing Him. He Will bring in HIs long awaited Kingdom and He Will receive fully the glory due His Name. God Bless! Jen Jude 25 -
Q2. Messiah and Son of Man
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. The Glorious Kingdom of the Son of Man
Q2. What did the term "Messiah" mean to the Jews? How does Daniel's Son of Man exceed this understanding? Why does Jesus primarily use the title Son of Man rather than Messiah or Son of God? Messiah was predicted in Genesis and throughout the OT. I am not sure when the term Messiah was first thought of in terms of being divine. It seems to me the Jews were under tremendous pressure from persecution from their enemies and they expected the Messiah (meaning anointed one as in the first three kings of Israel were anointed) to destroy their enemies and bring in an era of peace. They thought Jesus was a just a man and yet Peter called Jesus the Christ (also meaning Annointed One). So thinking was developing from the thought he would come from the Davidic line and come as a warrior to deliver them from earthly enemies to God's much broader and more than we could imagine plan. The Kingdom of God with Jesus as its Head. A Kingdom for all who would believe in and love God's Son. A Kingdom where there will be no more sin, our sin natures will be demolished along with all enemies of Jesus the Christ. A Kingdom of eternal life with no more tears, pain, illness, death. Jesus may have used the term Son of Man to not draw attention to himself from religious authorities but once again I see this magnificent, glorious God condescending down to us as our loving Savior, Redeemer, Friend, intercessor, healer and so much more. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q1. Daniel's Prophecy
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 2. The Glorious Kingdom of the Son of Man
Q1. (Daniel 7:13-14) What are the elements of Daniel's prophecy of "one like a son of man"? What is he given by the Ancient of Days? What clues do you have to the divinity of "one like a son of man" in Daniel's prophecy? 1. He looks like a human. 2. He comes with the clouds of heaven (infers divinity) 3. He approaches the Ancient of Days and comes into His presence (infers divinity) 4. He is given authority, glory, and sovereignty (infers divinity) 5 He is worthy of worship by every tongue, tribe, and nation (infers divinity) 6. His dominion (kingdom) is an everlasting dominion (infers divinity) It always amazes me how God condescends down to us. We cannot even image His power and might, His holiness and purity and yet He condescends down to us. He sets us where we are and walks with us through the details of life. "Amazing love how can it be that thou my God hast died for me." God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q4. Christian Citizenship
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #7. Pressing Toward the Goal (Philippians 3:12-4:1)
Q4. (3:18-21) Why is recognizing and affirming your citizenship and allegiance vital to discipleship? How does it keep us from the temptations outlined in verses 18 and 19? What are the dangers of a church combining and confusing the concepts of temporal patriotism with a Christian's true citizenship? If we don't call a spade a spade what do we have. Something vague and no identity. My identity lies solidly in Christ and heaven is my home that I am journeying too. Right now I am already in eternity with Christ as His. He redeemed me with a price and I love being His and as His my loyalty belongs to Him. I am sort of in school here to learn and grow in Christ. To be ready for my permanent home in 'a better country'. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q3. Discipleship and Imitation
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in #7. Pressing Toward the Goal (Philippians 3:12-4:1)
(3:17) How can Paul be so bold as to ask others to imitate him? Why are we so hesitant to do this? How does God use imitation in building disciples? Who is likely to imitate you? Even before Paul met Jesus on the road to Damascus he was well acquainted with who He was and with this sect and their beliefs. He was also taught the Jewish faith by none other than Gamaliel so he understood quite a bit at this point about Judaism and the Christian 'sect. When he met Jesus on the road to Damascus he started being schooled by our Lord and spent time in Arabia for more schooling by the Lord. He was prepared to serve the Lord and was totally committed to his Lord and Savior. He knew the blessings of following the Lord and the hardships and cost. Paul was on a journey and so are we. While we are not Paul we hopefully as we grow in the Lord set an example to others how to live in the faith. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q6. (Revelation 11:15; Psalm 24:7) When people think of spending an eternity in heaven, who do they most look forward to being with? Relatives? Jesus? What does it mean that he will reign forever and ever? In what way is he the King of Glory in your life? Sometimes when I have an anniversary for a birthday or date of someone I loved who died the longing to see that person again is intense. It doesn't mean we look forward to seeing that person more than Jesus but that at that moment missing them and longing for that one that the Lord put in my life is brought to the fore front. I look forward to spending time with them all but Jesus is my Lord and Savior and He is foremost. The One who created me, gave me life, died for me that I might spend eternity with Him is the One I long to see first and the others will be waiting for me and we will live forever in harmony and love with the Lord. God bless! Jen 1 Peter 1:3-5

Q4. (Malachi 3:2-3; 1 Corinthians 3:13-15). How does Jesus purify and refine his church? How does he purify and refine us? On the Day that fire will test your deeds, will you have anything that remains, besides your salvation? Through His Word and the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 5:25b-27) (Luke 3:16) Through many personal tribulations and afflictions. We need to pray for each other in this and that we will remain faithful to Him until the end by loving Him over life itself. There is still a lot of work to be done in me but God will perfect that which He started. My work is to love Him with all my heart, strength, and mind. I can only do this through the strength of the Holy Spirit so I must remain open to the work of the Holy Spirit. I must pray for God's help to do that. It all leads back to God so that it begins with Him and ends with Him. The Alpha and Omega. God Bless! Jen Jude 20 But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, keep yourselves in the love of God, looking unto the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.

Q3. (Hebrews 1:2; Romans 8:17; 1 Corinthians 3:22) In what sense is Jesus "Heir of All Things"? What does it imply that we are co-heirs with him? In what sense do we possess all things? Jesus has all power and everything belongs to Him. He is firstborn over all creation and is heir of all. It implies that as co-heirs He will share all with us but He will always be firstborn. We are adopted sons and daughters who are treated as real sons and daughters. We are so blessed. He who overcomes will inherit all this, and I will be his God and he will be my son." (Revelation 21:7). God bless! Jen Romans 15:13

Q1. (Hebrews 1:3; Matthew 17:1-2) In what ways did Jesus show the Father's glory in his ministry? Why do you think Jesus allowed Peter, James, and John to see his Transfiguration? How do you think Jesus will appear in heaven? In His miracles, healings, tenderness, love, his wisdom in His answers and dealings with different people. Those who are closest to Jesus, seek Him and spend more time with Him are those He reveals more to. I never thought about this before however I have never been surprised about it. I am sure that it increased their faith and strength for the days to come. As to if that is the reason why I don't know however I love reading about it. It seems to strengthen my faith and I find comfort in it. In heaven I believe we will see Jesus in glory and splendor and walking among us as the King who loves His people, will be worshipped by them and fellowships with them. He is God of all glory, grace and love. God bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q4. Bridegroom and Husband
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Jesus our Light, Life, Bread, and Bridegroom
Q4. (2 Corinthians 11:2) What does it take for us to be presented to Christ as a pure virgin bride? How faithful are we to Christ? To what degree do we partake with the adulterous and sinful generation that Jesus decried? What does the marriage relationship say about love, communication, and intimacy with Christ? As true believers in Him we are in the betrothal stage and waiting for Him to take us home to be with Him. We are to be faithful always, live holy and pure lives, read His love letter to us (His Word), constant in prayer. We are to be totally devoted to Him in every aspect of our lives. We live in this world but do not partake of those things which would dishonor Him or take our eyes off Him. He is our Lord and Savior and our first and only love. He is God and He is holy. God Bless Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q2. Living Bread, True Vine
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Jesus our Light, Life, Bread, and Bridegroom
Q2. (John 6:51; 15:1-5) What do Jesus' teachings on the Living Bread and the True Vine teach us about drawing from his life? What happens to our vital Life when we rely on ourselves, and stop relying on him? Why is it so hard for us humans to learn the lesson of dependence and trust? If Jesus is the bread (He is!) of life and the True Vine (He is!) then we must feed on His Word and pray daily and we should have a desire to nourish our Spirit for it is life to us. If we rely on ourselves and don't rely on Him through His Word and prayer our spiritual life will shrivel up and die and we will become as others who have not Christ (the walking dead). I don't think it is hard to be dependent and trust in this world because before we know Christ we are of this world and think as the world. When we know Him we do easily forget, the world offers many distractions and people easily buy into the world and what it offers so we need to practice spiritual discipline of reading the Word and prayer until it becomes part of us and not just part of our day. God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13 -
Q1. True Light
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 9. Jesus our Light, Life, Bread, and Bridegroom
Q1. (John 1:9; 8:12) In what sense is Jesus the True Light? In what sense is he the Light of the World? In what sense are you the light of the world (Matthew 5:14)? Why do you think people resist Jesus’ light, his truth, his view of the Father, our world, and eternal life? How does the world’s so-called “light” differ from Jesus’ light? What can obstruct Jesus’ light in this world? What can obstruct our light God is light and Jesus is Only Begotten therefore Jesus is the true light. This world is darkness and Jesus came into the world as the light of the world. In Him there is no darkness at all. 1 John 1:5 Jesus lives in us (true believers) and His light shines in us (Matthew 5:14) Men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil (John 3:19) Jesus is the true light. The world's light comes from men whose deeds are evil. Denying Christ can obstruct Jesus' light in this world. Squelching the Spirit will obstruct the Spirit through whom we get our light God Bless, Jen Ephesians 5:8-10 -
Q4. (Luke 4:23) How does Jesus as the Great Physician resonate with our broken world? What does it mean to you that Jesus is your Great Physician and Healer? Our world is broken and we need a physician to heal. But who can do that. There is one and one only. He is Jesus Christ sent by God to heal us and make us whole. Thank you Father for sending us your Only Begotten Son Jesus to heal us. Thank you for sending your Holy Spirit to guide us everyday to live lives that are healed and holy as we await our time to go home to be with You. Thank you Jesus for being our Great Physician and Healer, our Savior and Lord. When You heal You heal completely. God Bless Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q3. (John 14:6; 10:7, 9) In light of all the world's religions, how can Jesus be the Way to God, the exclusive door or gateway? Why does this offend the world? Since it is true, how can we most winsomely declare this truth to our generation? 1. Because God said it 2. Because God said it 3. Tell them that God so loved the world that He gave His only Begotten Son that who so ever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16) because God said so. God Bless! Jen Isaiah 35:8 He made a Way for me and it is the way of holiness through Him, to Him, for Him, by Him. Is there a hymn about the highway or Way of Holiness? If there isn't there should be.

Q2. Rock, Stone, Foundation
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Jesus our Head, Cornerstone, and Way
Q2. (1 Peter 2:4-8) In what way are these rock images of Christ attractive to our world? In what way do they repel people? Why? In what ways do you see Jesus as a Rock, Stone, and Foundation in your own life? People like the rock images especially when they can apply those images to themselves in the realm of power and strength. It is very self gratifying. When it applies to Christ and they have to acknowledge Christ and not themselves as a sure foundation they are repelled because of the baseness of their character and arrogance. Jesus is my solid Rock, to who I go because He is immovable, strong, solid and He never changes. He is righteous and just. He is the foundation of my faith because He my Hope, He is solid ground, He can never be moved. "My hope is build on nothing less than Jesus blood and righteousness, I dare not trust the sweetest frame, But wholly lean on Jesus name. On Christ the solid Rock I stand, all other ground is sinking sand, all other ground is sinking sand." God bless Jen Psalm 62:2 -
Q1. Head of the Church
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 8. Jesus our Head, Cornerstone, and Way
Q1. (Colossians 1:18) How should the assertion that Jesus is the "head of the body, the church" affect the way we conceive of the church? Is he talking about the universal Church or a local congregation, or both? If we believe that Jesus is the head of the church, how should that affect the way we conduct our life and ministry as the church? In what ways does the visible church represent the "head"? How well do we, as the body, follow his leadership? In Him we live and move and have our being. The church, the believers, are the body and the body follows the head. In following Him we have unity of mind and purpose. If we don't obey the head we are lost and in constant state of discord. If we follow His leadership we will have unity and bring glory to His Name. The body follows His leadership by reading His Word, and through prayer and faith. We are nothing without Christ and everything in Him and what we put into these and build up our faith will be how well we follow His Leadership. God bless! Jen Romans 15;13 -
Q3. Kinsman-Redeemer
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 7. Jesus our Savior, Shepherd, and Redeemer
Q3. (Mark 10:43-45) How does Jesus serve (like Boaz) as a Kinsman-Redeemer to us? What does the idea of needing a ransom imply about our condition? What was the redemption-price that the Father paid for us? God sent His Son to serve and to be a ransom for many. There is a price to be paid for the debt of sin which we owe. The idea of needing a ransom implies that we are slaves or have been kidnapped. We need someone to rescue us. The price was the blood of Jesus shed on the cross for me/us. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 Tis so sweet to trust in Jesus, Just to take Him at His word. -
Q2. To Seek and Save
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 7. Jesus our Savior, Shepherd, and Redeemer
Q2. How are we disciples to assist in Jesus' mission to seek and to save the lost? What is the love-balance between seeking to save our friends and having to back off because they feel we are trying to pressure them? First by our lifestyles. As disciples of Christ we are to live holy and righteous lives by the power of the Holy Spirit. Second do not quench the Spirit. Thirdly study to show yourself approved. Fourth be ready to give an answer in season and out for the hope that is within you. God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13 -
Q1. Friend of Sinners
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 7. Jesus our Savior, Shepherd, and Redeemer
Q1. (Luke 19:10; Matthew 11:19) Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. What does it mean to you personally that Jesus is the Friend of Sinners? How should it affect your relationships with people who are deep in sin? It means everything to me that Jesus is the Friend of Sinners. That meant He was and is and ever will be a friend of mine. And "I once was lost and now am found, twas blind but now I see" because He is a Friend of Sinners. My life radically changed because He is The Friend of Sinners. Pray for those who don't know Him and be a witness through word and deed. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 -
Q4. (Philippians 2:7-8) How are we to follow Jesus' example as the Servant? Why is humility difficult? Why is obedience hard? Where are you struggling right now to be humble and obedient? Jesus gave up everything to do the will of the Father. He came to serve and not to be served at the Father's request. We are to do the same. Paul said it well to the Corinthians, we are being made fools of and you are honored? Humility is hard when we are treated like we are worth that and the ones who are treating us that way think they are worthy of honor. Obedience is hard when we are frightened or want to do something else. I'll do it my way thank you. We have egos and lots of pride. Humility and obedience are characteristics we must learn. Life and people have a way of teaching us don't they! God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q3. The Lord's Supper
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus the Lamb of God, Holy and Righteous One
Q3. (1 Corinthians 11:23-26) What is the purpose of the Lord’s Supper? Why should we partake often? Why is it so easy to forget what Jesus has done for us on the cross? As we take the bread and the wine we "remember' what Christ did for us. His body that was broken and His blood that was shed. It is only for those who have made Jesus their Lord and Savior. We take time to reflect (to remember) on Christ and the price He had to pay. I don't know that we so much forget as that Lord's Supper brings it to forefront to think about it solely and somberly, to consider Him alone and to honor Him alone as we understand in part the costliness of the cross. God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13 -
Q2. Lamb of God
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus the Lamb of God, Holy and Righteous One
Q2. (John 1:29) Why is Jesus referred to as the Lamb of God? To what degree does he take away our sins? How does he come to represent you -- as your sacrifice for sin? Animal sacrifice was the way God accepted payment for sin until the final Lamb came, holy and sinless, once and for all, Jesus the Lamb of God paid the price for us through His death on the cross. He was sent by God and His work on the cross was enough to pay the price for every sin in the world. "His work was so complete, they'll never be remembered more I worship at His feet." As I put my faith in Him, acknowledge Him as my Lord and Savior His substitutionary death on the cross for my sins is accepted by the Father. Jesus takes my sin and gives me His righteousness. "Amazing love how can it be that thou my God shouldst die for me." God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13 -
Q1. Holiness and Righteousness
Jen replied to Pastor Ralph's topic in 6. Jesus the Lamb of God, Holy and Righteous One
Q1. What does Jesus' holiness and righteousness demand of our lives as his disciples? In the Parable of the Sheep and the Goats, what was the primary characteristic of the sheep vs. the goats? As His disciples Jesus says we are to live lives that are holy and righteous. This we cannot do on our own strength but on the strength of the Holy Spirit who lives in us. In the parable of the sheep and the goats notice the goats called Jesus Lord but did not feed the poor and clothe the naked. As His sheep we are to do the things He did and to follow His example in life and take care of others, help others, feed others. The goats lived for themselves. They didn't really know Him. They knew of Him. Sometimes I am afraid I see too much of the goat in me. We may not have much time left to do these things and it really made me think. I keep thinking of Pastor Ralph's question do I love Jesus. I hesitated before I answered as I thought yes I do however I wondered how much because I look with trepidation on what is coming or what might be coming and then I realized that God will give me the strength and the willingness to face whatever it is at the time. I have today to live for Him with what He has given me. Yes Jesus I do love you! I am not sure of what is in me, however I do know the One Who lives in me and He is able. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
