  1. Q3. (2 Corinthians 1:10-11) Why does Paul ask people to pray for him? How do the prayers of others have an effect? What happened in your life that has helped you enter into a ministry of intercessory prayer? We are a family. God is the Head and we are is adopted children. We honor Him when we pray for each other. God loves to answer our prayers in His will and in His way and time. He wants us to love each other and one way to do that is to pray for each other. It isn't a matter of perfect words and all the la de dah that goes on but what is in our hearts that He cares about. Sometimes we ourselves are so in the midst of perplexing situations that others can see better to pray for us. We need each others prayers. We are not an island, we are connected with the living Holy Spirit and our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. And after all is done many can give thanks to their Father in heaven for His mercies on us. God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13
  2. Q1. (2 Corinthians 1:3-7) What kind of comfort do you receive from your faith in God? From your personal daily relationship with God? How might you share the blessing of this kind of comfort with a friend or relative who is currently suffering? What words of comfort can you bring to others? It is faith in God that gives deep lasting comfort. The words of friends are sweet (sometimes) and comforting but only God can provide the true comfort that reaches the inner parts of the soul. I read the Bible every day however it is not enough. I must spend more time in prayer and talking to Him, singing hymns. I need constant relationship with Him. My sister put it this way last night that she becomes a hamster in a wheel and that is how I can get. My husband became very ill this summer and his recovery has been difficult and I too have become like a hamster in a wheel when I have needed to spend more time with the One who cares for us and can do all things. I pass along what I have gotten. Bible verses, hymns, a hug, just listening, a smile, a kind word. It feels inadequate sometimes however the God of all comfort and God of all grace who knows our needs knows what they need and when they need it. He is never to late and we just need to be willing to be used by Him. We should be a little touch of heaven on earth for our neighbors, friends, and family. God Bless! Jen Romans 15:13
  3. Q3. (Exodus 14:11-14) Why do the people blame Moses for the advancing Egyptian army? What motivates their fear? Who are the people really blaming? How does Moses respond to their blame and fear? Why doesn't Moses defend himself from their unfair criticism? How do the people respond to Moses' words? It seems the blame game has been going on since the garden. and still is very active in todays world. Why do the people blame Moses? He was convenient, the one in charge, and maybe jealousy, resentment (why didn't God choose me) but mostly personal weakness in our nature. Fear is a natural response to some circumstances. It is what we do with it that makes the difference. Feeling helpless can motivate fear. Maybe the highs and lows of the situation. Maybe they were used to living in feeling defeat under the Egyptians and just fell back into it. They didn't look up and that is essental. Moses encouraged the people. He was their leader and a good one at that. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  4. Q2. (Exodus 12:50) Why was obedience so important to the peoples deliverance? Why is obedience so important to our deliverance from "sin, the flesh, and the devil"? Is there any discipleship without obedience? Does a person who says he believes in Jesus but doesn't obey him have real faith? With out obedience on their part all would have been for naught and some would have perished. There are rules and consequences in life and if we disobey our Lord we pay the terrible consequences. Only God can deliver us from sin, the flesh and the devil. If we disobey how can He? It is imperative that we obey implicitily His Will. There should be a desire to obey and a sincere repentence when we fall short. Our enemy is always trying to destroy us and he knows our weakneses so we will not yet be perfect however we should be growing constantly in our walk and obedience should come with that. I don't know if he has real faith but you do obey the one you love. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 My husband has been very sick. I appreciate prayers. We are both very tired.
  5. Q2. (Exodus 16:7-8) Why can grumbling against a leader really be a symptom of grumbling against the Lord? Are there any cases where this might not be true? Why do leaders tend to take complaints so personally? What does it take to learn that "it's not about you." 1. Because they are God's chosen representative. 2. I don't know of any. 3.Why do parents take complaints so seriously. Leaders and parents can both relate to this I think. We love our little flock so much. They have been entrusted to us. It hurts! Do you think God hurts? I do. I believe He can handle it however I believe it hurts. 4. I feel like I should just put down GUILTY in every response. I seem to be a slow learner and God has to teach me. It takes pain sometimes for me to learn. I don't believe God wants to inflict pain. I believe He allows somethings to happen that are not good in and of themselves and I believe we have a choice how we respond. I seem to make the wrong choice so many times. I am so sorry Lord! It is all about You and here I am thinking about me. I am so sorry for all the hurt I have caused you so many times. Thank you for your constant faithfulness to us. God Bless!!! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 I feel like words are so inadeguate but I do like what the Chinese (in one dialect) say and I don't have the accents on my computer and the spelling might be wrong but it is Bau chyan (sorry from the heart)! It is a more sincere form of I'm sorry. Maybe I should also say "thank You from the heart" although I can never adequately thank You.
  6. WE NEED TO PRAY FOR EACH OTHER!! God Bless! Jen Numbers 6: 24:26
  7. Q1. (Exodus 15:24) What are the reasons that people grumble and complain? How do fear and faith relate to grumbling? What symptoms of grumbling do you see in your own life? What should you do about it? Ungratefulness Everyone has fear at some point. Our fear eithers turns us to God in faith or to grumbling and complaining (our natural in the flesh response). When I find myself grumbling I have to adjust my attitude to one of gratitude for the goodness of God, first at the cross of Christ and then for all the blessings and deliverances He has graciously provided. There is a difference between groaning and grumbling. God understands our natures and how we are made and patiently(!!) bears with us. What an awesome God He is! God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

  11. Q4. Why do we tend to fight our battles
  12. Q2. Why is it so difficult for some church leaders to confront people? What fears in this regard does a leader face? How can confrontation and rebuke be a good thing? What happens when we refuse to confront when we should? I don't like confrontation. I don't know why but it makes me very uncomfortable. I do if I have to but I don't like it. It could be lack of conficence, fear, being looked as intolerant (or political correnctness). It should not be done lightly and should be done in gentleness and when we are sure of the issue. It can help others to see the "error" of their ways, correct us when we are wrong. If done properly it can build up and not tear down. Sin multiplies and grows. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  13. Q1. (Exodus 7:6-7) Why did Moses blame God for his troubles? Why are Moses and Aaron so stubborn, do you think? Was it fear? Was it unbelief? Or both, perhaps? Why does God have to command Moses and Aaron? God is the One who told Moses to go to Pharoah so it seems natural that Moses would go back to God when it didn't work out. I'm not sure that he was 'entirely' blaming God as well as entreating Him "what do I do now?" Sometimes when God asks us to do something and we run afoul of the "law" in doing God's bidding God can seem stangely far away while we are face to face by our selves (so it seems) with the task or foe at hand. The Lord is of course with us but He isn't in our face like Pharoah was with Moses. The physical can seem so much more initmidating at the time. I think Moses because he was sent by God expected things to work out differently. Now he sees that this might be a more difficult task or command than he originally expected and he balks. Plus Pharoah's response was so unjust and Moses was being blamed by the people who were suffering under this cruel tyrant. If you are in the position where God tells you to do something you save yourself a lot of trouble and grief if you just obey but Moses was human like us and I think he needed a no nonsense "do this" before his backbone would stiffen up and he would face Pharoah again. He was also assured by God of eventual success in this. Fear and unbelief have held me back sometimes and I have always anguished afterward. Mostly just sorrow for not listening to the God I love. He understands how we are made and many times a second chance comes but not always. Sometimes we have only a fleeting moment and then it is forever gone. There is the bitter when we don't listen and the sweet when we do. Regardless of success or not God wants faithfulness from us. He got it from Moses even though it took a little on the job training. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  14. Q4. What does the call to the Great Banquet sound like when we extend the invitation to those around us? In what sense are we the servants told to
  15. Q3. (Luke 9:57-61) Why was Jesus so harsh with those who made excuses when called to follow him? Why is the call so urgent? Why do our excuses seem so trivial when offered to Jesus? I believe the knowledge of God is within all of us. Excuses minimize or trivialize God Himself. The call is so very urgent because the consequences are so great. Imagine an ant standing up to God and saying no or I can't be bothered with you. We are like the ant. We can make choices but God has the power. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 May all who live believe in You and sanctify thy Name in truth, for You are our salvation.
  16. Q4. Why are we so afraid to obey God when he puts on our heart to do something decisive? How are we to deal with fear when we feel it? What is the relationship of fear to courage? Why is courage required in leaders and disciples? Quite often it is something that is going to "pit us" against the general flow of political correctness in our culture, including our family members, friends and just plain people (some with "power" to cause pain). If we don't like conflict or feel uncertain it will prompt a fear response. Plus those we care about will not understand. Emotional pain is very difficult. Look up! Spend time with the Lord or if it is immediate Trust Him!! I think the presence of fear is what makes it courage to do what He asks. Because they are going to be paddling upstream much of the time with lots of opposition. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  17. Q3. (Exodus 4:13-14a) Why is God angry with Moses? What is Moses
  18. Q2. (Exodus 3:10-12) Does Moses' response to God's call reflect a low self image, true humility, or lack of faith? How does God reassure him? How does God reassure us when we are called to impossible situations? After 40 years in the desert I think Moses lacks confidence for this mission, he has now true humility, and lacks faith because that is learned as we walk with the Lord. God promises to be with him. As we read His Word we learn He promises to be with us in all things, never to leave us or forsake us, give us wisdom, guide us. As we see His hand in our lives we grow in our faith the same as Moses. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  19. Q2. (Luke 14:15-24) In what way is the Parable of the Great Banquet about grace? In what way is it about judgment? In what way is it about evangelism? To what End Time event does the great banquet point? 1. God who knows our hearts made a way for us at great cost to Himself. Amazing Grace!! 2. We who are nothing refuse His invitation? How can this wickedness be? He must judge if He is to be just. 3. All are invited. The gospel is given, the Good News presented. 4. The wedding feast of the Lamb. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26 John MacArthur on Luke 14:22 "still there is more room. God is more willing to save sinners than sinners to be saved." Amazing!
  20. Q1. (Exodus 2:11-15a) What do we learn about Moses' motivations, character, and leadership ability from the incident of him killing the cruel Egyptian taskmaster? What positive things do you see in his character? What negative things do you discern? Moses was not timid when he saw injustice (at this point). He had a sense of justice or indignation when he saw the Hebrews being mistreated and concern for their wellbeing. He looked all around but not to God. He went about correcting the wrong the wrong way. (Probably if he had gone to pharoah he would not have been well received). He was impulsive and he tried to cover up. Murder was not the answer although in this case I am not sure what was except to look up which he looked every where but. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
  21. Q1. (Luke 14:15-24) In the Parable of the Great Banquet, who do the original guests represent? Who do the later invited guests represent? What does it mean to
  22. Q4. How do you think Jesus will hold you personally accountable on Judgment Day for using your "talents"? If you begin to be more faithful from now on, how do you think that may affect his accounting on that Day? We will all be held accountable for how we used our talents on "that" day. I believe that if we try in great odds it is pleasing to God. After all it is His to accomplish. We need to be faithful and leave the success up to Him. I need to grow in my faith and to be more faithful in what He has given me and I believe that He rewards our continued or new efforts to live a life more pleasing to Him using what He has given us to glorify His Name on earth as it is in heaven. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
