I like Paul's use of the word confident in the New Testament. It expresses His faith in God's love and trustworthiness. 2 Cor 5:8 Phil 1: 6 Heb 3:6 Mercy unto you, and peace and love be multplied. Jude1:2 God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q2. (Psalm 145) Which aspects of God's character mentioned in Psalm 145 stand out to you in particular? Why is it important for "every creature," every human being, to praise him? What are you doing to help that happen? God's majesty is what stands out to me. I see it everywhere, in creation, in His acts towards us, in the contrast between human behavior and His, in nature. Just every where. HE IS MAJESTY!! It is our duty and our great privilege to praise Him! Not as much as I should. I pray and I talk to people about Jesus when opportunity presents itself. I try to live a life that praises Him. God Bless you all! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Q1. (Psalm 103) Which one or two aspects of God's character mentioned in this Psalm stand out to you? Why do you think the Exodus was so foundational in Israel's understanding of God? According to Psalm 103:10-12, what are the limits to God's forgiveness? For me I guess what stands out the most is verse 10. His mercy! As in the song by Ray Boltz the only thing I am praying for is His mercy. The exodus showed in no uncertain terms God's love for His people and all who call to Him for help and His power to help. "'God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this that power belongeth unto God." Ps. 62:11. In Christ Jesus there are no limits to God's forgiveness. Romans 8:1 God Bless! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26

What does it mean to "ascribe" to God arributes of glory and strength? It means to render unto God what He deserves because of who He is. What happens when we fail to ascribe such qualities to Him? We deny Him what He desires from us and is worthy of. We also deny ourselves the privilege He has given us to worship Him through His Beloved Son. In what sense is praise to God "fitting" or "worthy"? As others have said "in every sense". He IS worthy of praise and adoration. It is our duty and privilege to praise Him. He has saved us for all eternity. And we will dwell forever in the house of the Lord. O Come Let Us Adore Him! God Bless! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26

Why is praise difficult in the midst of trying circumstances? We focus on the circumstances and not on God. I have notes in my Bible by Philippians 1:12 1 Focus on Christ and not the circumstances. Live above the circumstances. 2. Focus on sovereignty of God not the will of man. Nothing can touch a believer until it penetrates the presence of God 3 Focus on the positive results not the personal pain. This takes concentrated effort and work. It goes against human nature. Our enemy puts little thoughts into us such as you didn't deserve that or something isn't fair. We seem to enjoy our pain in that it satisfies our sin natures desire for revenge. How does praise affect our faith? Our Attitude? Our motivation? Praise expresses our faith. It gives us a positive attitude and motivates us to press on in the charge. It glorifies our Lord. That is what is man's chief end. So the problems we have although difficult are for His name to be glorified. Our Commander has allowed them and He is in control!! Praise Him!! and Press On!! God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

The Bible says that before anything comes to us (believers) it must first go through God. When you read the Word and know His character you can "rest" in Him. There is sadness but we can know that He has allowed it for His purpose. PRAY!! God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

What does it mean to say to the Lord, "Into your hands I commit my spirit"? It means I completely trust Him. How does that statement bring peace to a person? It puts the responsiblity on God and I give up control which leads to peace because I know the God I have committed my spirit too. How does the statement, "My times are in your hands", bring peace to the troubled soul? Once again it puts the burden on God which brings peace because I know the God I trust. God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26

According to Psalm 23, how does the Lord our Shepherd quiet his sheep and give them confidence? How many ways can you find in this psalm? 1. He MAKES me to lie down in green pastures. 2. He LEADS me beside the still waters. 3 He RESTORES my soul 4. He LEADS me in the paths of righteousness 5.He COMFORTS me in times of darkness 6. He PREPARES a table before me in the presence of mine enemies 7. He ANNOINTS my head with oil 8. He FILLS my cup to overflowing 9. He PURSUES me with goodness and mercy 10. He TAKES me home to be with Him forever God Bless! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26

David was content to be what God wanted him to be. He didn't seek popularity or fame but he sought after God. Elements would include humility, trust, and the ability to discern. God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

It seems as though I always find something different that stands out when I read scripture and this time I thought about God never sleeping. If I don't sleep I am tired and sluggish. It just amazes me that God never sleeps. Our God is awesome. God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

What reassurance is it to you that God keeps you and watches over you? How does Psalm 121 make you feel? In Matthew Henry's commentary he has in quotes "You shall not be hurt either by open assaults of your enemies, which are as visible as the scorching beams of the sun, or by their secret treacherous attempts, which are like the undetectable insinuations of the cold by night". "The Lord will keep you from all harm, the harm of sin and the harm of trouble. Even that which kills shall not hurt." "It is the spiritual life especially, that God will take under his protection: He will watch over your life." If we are standing out as salt or light as Christians we will be assaulted at some point. We need the Lord to watch over our life and we need to be aware of that He is. The Word is so important to be in. We are no match from the enemies assaults except through the strength and power of our Lord. It makes me feel like I need to pray more and read the Word more since I don't know what is out there and what is coming but my God does and He is bigger than it all. God Bless!! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26

What does this psalm teach us about God's protection when in danger? What does it teach about our authority to vanquish our enemies? What promises does Psalm 91 contain? How does this psalm make you feel? God's protection is all encompassing and very much to be relied on fully and completely because of who we know God to be. We can walk without fear as long as we don't invite trouble. We have strength over our enemies through Christ who conquered our enemy Satan. Promises 1. He will rescue us. 2. He will protect us. 3. He will deliver us. 4. He will answer when we call to Him. 5. He will be with us in trouble. 6. He will honor us. 7. He will satisfy us with long life. 8. He will show us His salvation. It makes me feel awe for our God and when I read this psalm I feel tears in my eyes because I feel at home in Him. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

What images does the psalmist evoke to communicate his trust in God's protection? How do the first four verses of this psalm make you feel? 1. The rock that is high and mighty (solid) 2. Refuge 3. Strong tower (fortress) 4. Shelter 5. God's dwelling place 6. Wings When I read this it renews again my awareness of how blessed we are through Jesus who is our Rock. I am reminded of my constant need to be in the Word. When we stray from the Word we stray from the comfort of knowing and being reminded by our incredible Savior through His precious Word of the protection our God provides for us out of His complete and total mercy. "This Rock is Jesus, Yes He's the One, this Rock is Jesus, the only One. Be very sure, be very sure, your anchor holds and grips the solid Rock." God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Do not lie. Do good always. Guard your heart. What you put into it is what will come out. Do not speak falsely or maliciously about someone else. Do good to your neighbor. If you hear gossip and cannot dispprove it don't repeat it. Look at what others do not at what they have. If you make a vow fullfill it even if it hurts if possible. (Be careful not to make a wrong or foolish vow.) Be charitable to others and do not take unfair advantage of someone in need. Do not hurt or prejudice a righteous cause. Matthew Henry says "Goodness and holiness are not only the way to happiness, they are happiness." If you do wrong confess it. We have a merciful and forgiving God. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

This short psalm seems to reaffirm what we already know: the righteous will succeed and the wicked will perish. Why do we need to be reminded of this? Sometimes it seems like the wicked florish and triumph. We need to be reminded that there flourishing is short lived and eventually the righteous will succeed even though right now we are buffeted by Satan's attempts to destroy us. Our God is victorious and has already won the battle. From an emotional standpoint, what lines in this psalm stand out to you. Why do you think you like them? Verse 3 says : And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither; and in whatever he does, he prospers. We are planted by God and kept by His strength. And God bears fruit through us in His season. It's all of God. That to me is comforting. God Bless you all Jen Numbers6:24-26

God's love is the foundation of my faith. It is my blessed assurance knowing He loves me. When no one else seems to we have that assurance in Him. His love is everlasting ( Jer.31:3). PRAISE HIM , PRAISE HIM, PRAISE HIM! The realization that God loves me gives me the strength, courage, will to stay the course. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

What is the psalmist feeling during this spiritual struggle? How does he combat his spiritual depression? Have you ever felt this way? How did you reach out to God at this time.? Matthew Henry calls this a struggle between "faith and sense with sense objecting and faith answering". To combat it David asks himself why he is feeling this way. Is there a cause? Has not God always taken care of him? Is there not reason to be encouraged when we focus on God and His love? "A believing confidence in God is a sovereign antidote against prevailing despondency and disquietude of spirit. " I don't believe we can be idle at these times. We MUST go on the offensive with praise and prayer and reading the Word. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

What does it mean that David desires to "dwell in the house of the Lord"? What does it mean to"seek His face"? How does David provide hope at the end of this Psalm? When you love someone you desire to dwell with them. You are not happy apart from that person. You yearn for them. David more than anything desired the ark of the covenant to be in Jerusalem because that was God's meeting place with His people. The mercy seat was there and through that he had access to God. We now have access to the throne through Jesus. Even now we are seated in the heavenlies because of the mercy we obtained through the death of Jesus on the cross for our sins. May His name be praised forever!!! We seek His face through prayer, reading and meditating on His Word, being with fellow believers in corporate worship, and in private devotion. Wait on the Lord!!** Those who wait on the Lord will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

In what way does the wonder of creation in the psalm seem to affect the psalmist? He is overwhelmed with the knowledge of God. verse 6 In his concluding prayer in verses 23-24, what does he ask God to do? He asks God to do what God already wants to do. Cleanse us and purify us and fill us with His Holy Spirit God Bless Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Verses 1 to 6 seem very different from verses 7 to 13, but there is a common thread that relates the first part to the second part. What is it? God's glory In what way does the psalmist seem to bask in God's Word? It is the Holy Spirit in him that makes him able to bask in God's Word. Have you ever felt that way? Yes How does the psalmist's wonder in creation seem to affect him in this psalm? It brings about a sense of awe. In the classic prayer of verse 14, what is David asking God to do? I think he is asking God to do for him what God asked Abraham to do- Walk before Me and be blameless. Genesis 17:1. The psalmist knew he could not do it on his own but only through God's help and he wants to please God before anyone else.

What does this psalm teach us about God? It teaches us about the excellence of His Name. It is not treated as excellent on this earth but His Name is excellent. It teaches us about His glory. We see it in His Word and in His creation but in heaven we shall see Him as He is. What does it teach about human beings? We are His creation, not of ourselves it is He who made us. He made us a little lower than the angels and gave us rule over every living thing. What does it teach us about Christ? Christ humbled Himself to become man to save man and in so became a little lower than the angels and is crowned with glory and honor. He is now at the right hand of God. He is my Lord and Savior! What does it teach us about our responsibilities? We are to serve and honor God by how we treat His creation. The verse that says all creation groans is to me rather telling as to how we are doing. God Bless! Jen Nehemiah 9:6

What exactly is faith? Can we take credit for having it? Can we be condemned for lacking it? In this case faith is the ability to believe in Christ Jesus as Savior when we recognize and acknowledge our need for a Savior. It is a gift of God. We can claim no credit. No one will stand before His Creator and say He didn't know He was. He will be condemned on His unwillingness to repent. The fool hath said in his heart, "There is no God." Psalm 53:1 God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26
-
According to Ephesians 2:10 what were we credited to do? Why? Matthew5:16. Good works so that God will be glorified! What a great calling! Work on O King Eternal!! What is the difference between these works and the works Paul discredits in verse 9? These works are the result of salvation and the Holy Spirit working in us. The ones in verse 9 are referring to the human efforts to earn salvation. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Just as Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were saved by Jesus from the fiery furnace so we need to be saved from hell through the atoning blood of Jesus. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6:24-26

Why is it so hard for us to understand grace? Because our hearts are naturally desperately wicked. NO good thing dwells in us. What commonly held life principle does it demolish? That everything has a price. There is no buying our way into heaven. Translate the word grace into language a 10 year old would understand? I guess I might liken it to an animal that is found dirty, underfed, and full of oozing sores. Someone feels sorry for it and takes it into his house and feeds, cleans and makes it healthy. The animal did nothing to earn it and was repulsive to look at. That's how God sees us. He paid the price to redeem us from the bad owner and took us into His family to live with Him forever. God Bless! Jen Numbers 6: 24-26
