Becuase he knows how much words can hurt, how deep that hurt can go. Its just as if you took a gun to some one and shoot them and killing them. Does this mean that murder is no worse than an angry insult in God's eyes? It kind of puts it on the same level. Just as murder can cause pain for the family. God knows our words are just as deadly unless we learn to control our tongue. How would we act differently if we actually believed that angry attitudes towards others are viewed by God as murder? We would start thinking before we open our mouths. We would think about the affect our words will have on the ones we are speaking to.

A lot of people see no reason for reading the old testament today. thet say we are to live under the new coventant and there is no reason to go back to the old. It's everyone doing there own thing thinking its everyone else that is wrong but not them.

How does hiding our light affect the glory of God? If we hide the light then no one can see God. No one will know his love and mercy for them if we refuse to let our lights be seen. Was Jesus' suffering necessary? Yes or could have never payed for our sins. Is ours? Yes or we wouldn't grow into the person he wants us to be. What does this have to do with Romans 12:2? The change our thinking so that we can be the salk and the light that he talks about in the world.

Concerning what danger in the life of a Christian disciple does Jesus warn us in this parable? A christian that would hide his light is living in fear. Afraid of what others will think. Afraid if he speaks out for Christ that the people with think of him as a Jesus freak. Where we need to not be afraid, but to speak out for Christ and bring others into the kingdom before it's to late.

Is it possible for a believer to detect such symptoms in himself or herself? We should be able to tell if are not living like we shoulh by the Holy Spirits conviction in our lives. What do secular people notice about a "de-saltified" Christian? That we have become no differnt than them. Our personalities has changed to be more like the world, instead of being a witness for Christ. What do other Christians notice about you? That we have lost our joy and our peace. An attitude change. Is it possible to "resaltify" your life? Yes with the help of Jesus we can start being hungry for him again and doing the things that draws us closer to him. We can get back into the word and talking to him so that our peace and the joy of the Lord can return to us.

We canrejoice knowing it will only draw us closer to the Lord. we can rejoice in the fact if our relationship with Jesus is bothering some one else their heart has been touched and it bothers them so they take it out on us. We should rejoice because it may turn them around for Christ if they see it doesn't affectus the way they want it to. What keeps this from being some kind of sick masochism, or finding pleasure in pain? We may never see joy in being persecuted but when we are being persecuted it means others are seeing Jesus and it bothers them so they work to make us feel bad. we just need to go right on being happy and showing them that nothing that will do to us will get us us to change how we feel about Jesus. Why is the blessing "for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" appropriate for the persecuted? Becuase they have push past the persecutions and have kept the mind of Crist through it all drawing us closer to him.

Q5. (Matthew 5:8) Why can people with a pure heart see, know, and discern God? Why can't "chronic" sinners see God? How do we obtain the pure or clean heart that Jesus describes? Why can people with a pure heart see, know, and discern God? Thosw with a pure heart don't have sins blocking them from being able to see and discern the things of God. They have love and mercy for others instead of hate. We can see things more clearly by looking a things through seeing things God's way instead of our own way. Why can't "chronic" sinners see God? They can not see God because they can only see from the worlds perspective. To their life styles of sin blockes them from having a pur heart. How do we obtain the pure or clean heart that Jesus describes? By keeping our eyes on Jesus and keeping sin out of our lives.

The world is against the people who do wrong instead of just the wrong thing they did. God's rightousness helps us to help the person so the wrong so they do can be made right. What sort of righteousness is Jesus talking about, do you think? The kind that makes you feel good about doing what is right. The kind that makes you want to do what is right because it pleases God. What promise are we given in this Beatitude? That if we seek his rightousness we will recieve the blessings he has for us.

If we are not spiritually poor, we are not ready to see the need to become a christian. Sometimes we feel we are doing ok on our own and don't need a savior. What kind of mourning is necessary for a person to become a Christian? That they should see that they are sinners and the need to repent and turn to Jesus who came to save them. What kind of mourning is a common experience of Christians? It should cause us to mourn when we see the ways of the world. That they don't see the sins in their lives and see there need to repent and turn to him.

Those that are seeking after God and his kimgdom Why do you think Jesus made each Beatitude a paradox? He wanted us to to have something to think about. And dig the truths out for ourselves. If we have to study it we will learn more how to apply it to our lives. When we go by what someone else has learned we may miss the one thing he wanted us to grasp from the teaching. Sometimes it can be a group from work or just those you hang out with. doesn't need to be a position that is only done in a church setting. We can be mentors to those outside the church and to new Christians to help them grow. What must a church do if its "senior pastor" doesn't have the spiritual gift of pastor? There is usually someone else in the church that can do that. Anyone that knows the word and the truth of how to apply it can help those that need help in the church and fulfill that position.

We would have to feel the need to win lost souls to Christ. And to give me a hunger for God so that many would want to return to Christ. What might be the earmarks of a person with this gift? How might we detect false apostles? (2 Corinthians 11:13; Revelation 2:2) If there were apostles today, why kind of function might they have? I think they would be overseers of pastors. To make sure the word they are teaching is the truth of God. What needs do our congregations and regional groupings of churches have that an apostle might meet? To get right literature that is going to help their churches grow together in Christ. How might we detect false apostles? Bye reading the word four ourselves and testing what is taught against when we have learned from the truth in God's word. 2 timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth. If we don't do what this verse says how can we know that we are being taught wrong? He had to read and study for ourselves so that we will know the truth when we hear it.
