Johnguitars
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? Something of immense value that is worth all you have to attain. How should it affect us? We should put the Kingdom first at all times. e.g. I have heard friends say they cannot come to church because they go sailing every weekend so they are placing pleasure before service. When seeking a new house, you need to consider where you will worship and not just what school the kids will go to.
tammie7
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? The two parables have in commons is that they both talks about hidden a treasure and buying it to become wealth. one point is that it is ok to selling everything when you know that you are going to become richer. Because sometimes we think it is wrong for us to sell everything to get rich or to be better than you was before, our lives will be better But the greatest gift is salvation. The joy that a person feel when getting a treasure this is the same joy that we should feel with salvation.
linda bass
The finders of both the hidden field and the pearl went and sold all they had in order to own these treasures. The one man sold all he had in order to buy the field he found the hidden treasure in. The merchant sold everything he had in order to buy the precious pearl. The main point of these parable is,when someone comes across something valuable and priceless,it is worth selling everything in order to obtain it. This should affect our values in such a way that we consider the Kingdom of God as worth obtaining. As Christian,we should be willing to give up all so that we may partake of the coming Kingdom of God.
wifee
1a)The Hidden Treasure & Pearl both had much value to the labourer & the merchant. They both had to used all the money they had to purchase them. For both it involved seeking & finding the treasure. Finding the Kingdom, involves our participation. If we seek we find. Disciples told to seek the kingdom. b)the main point is that we should give up everything & let Jesus be nos 1 in all our ambitions & actions,if we want to enter the Kingdom, it doesn

What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? The 2 parables are much the same-the Pearl of Great Price and the Hidden Treasure-both demonstrating Jesus is out in the open for all to see yet his wonders are hidden from non-believers, yet He took the Great Price for us. Trusting God
The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have two things in common: 1. The rich man and the wealthy man both found a valuable treasure, and 2. They sold all they had to purchase that treasure. The main point of these parables is the importance of parting with everything we have and own in order to obtain something invaluable, and inestimably greater. These Parables should affect our values to remind us that the Kingdom of God is greater than anything we can own on this earth. We should strive to forsake everything on this earth to obtain Heaven
nurselaino
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? Mat 13:44 "The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found and covered up. Then in his joy he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field. Mat 13:45 "Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search of fine pearls, Mat 13:46 who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it. In both of these parables a man has found something of great treasure and has sold everything he owns to gain these treasures. There are somethings which we need to take hold of at any cost to us. These things should be on the top of our list to have and they are worth all we own. Our Salvation is just that. It is beyond price and we will never have enough money to buy it on our own. Both were willing to give all they had to get the treasure. What is the main point of these parables? Heaven is the great treasure. We must give our all to Jesus. He must come first. How should it affect our values? Our lives? Our values and treasures are to be stored up in Heaven not earthly things.

What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? a) Both scriptures are referring to and likening the Kingdom of God to treasure, and how we should/must be prepared to sacrifice everything we have for His Kingdom. The main point of these scriptures is to emphasize the importance and the delicate care we should take in our walk as Christians and not take it for granted. c) Both scriptures should cause us to take our Christian walk very serious, and in essence should affect our daily lives and values. Craig
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? Both parables involve someone who finds something of great value. Greater than anything they currently have. They both sell everything else they have for that thing of greater value which brings them great joy. A joy unlike anything else in their life. The point is, the Kingdom of God is of such greater value than anything else in this world and we need to give up everything else in order to own it per se. To be a part of it. In other words, when I found the joy of being a part of the Kingdom of God I willingly and joyfully gave up or sold off other things in order to be a part of the thing that has greater value and gives me much joy. Pearl
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? Both of the Parables stress the value of the Kingdom of God. We should be willing to leave all to follow Christ. It is just that wonderful. He tells us to Seek first the Kingdom of Heaven and all these things will be added unto you. We will get wealth, riches and whatever we need, but we have to be willing to seek Christ first. The main point is to look to Jesus and follow His example. Don't let anything come between our relationship with Him. He knows the only right way. He knows everything.

andyho1
Q1. (Matthew 13:44-46) What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? What is the main point of these parables? How should it affect our values? Our lives? The Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great price are twin parables recorded by the Gospel writer, and both of these parables are short, only a sentence or two long, and both have similar teaching about the costliness of the Kingdom. Let's examine them in greater detail. These two parables main point is a man will sell everything or parting with everything we have and own, to obtain this hidden treasure or this pearl since the value is so exceedingly much greater. These parables teaches us this incredible value of salvation that far surpasses any amount a poor man might able to scrape together to try to acquire it. That what we own and have in this life is not worth having compare to our salvation or the kingdom of God. We should leave everything behind just for the sake of this salvation which is permanent and eternal.
kcjim
Both parables are short, to the point, and easily understood by the audience. One wonders why two parables were needed, since each seem to be saying the same thing. The point is not the value of the kingdom, but what finding it does to the finder. As the Jeremias quote says, "When that great joy, surpassing all measure, seizes a man, it carries him away, penetrates his inmost being, subjugates his mind. All else seems valueless compared with that surpassing worth. No price is too great to pay." When Jesus called his first disciples, they dropped their nets to follow him, even though they had never (we presume) heard him preach. Often when we long-time christians encounter someone who has just been energized by the Spirit, we don't understand the joy and can't share in it, much to our sorrow. Gerbrand van Schalkwyk
What do the Parables of the Hidden Treasure and Pearl of Great Price have in common? In both parables the treasure found was so valueble that the men gave up everything they had to obtain it What is the main point of these parables? the Kingdom of God is valueble that we should not think before we give something of value to us in order to obtain it. This doesnt mean that we can buy our salvation, no, we receive it through grace, but in order to receive it we must price it above all else. How should it affect our values? Earthly possesions should not matter to us, our focus should be on God Our lives? We must live all out for Christ
pickledilly
These parables both involve someone who discovered something of great worth, something very costly, something so valuable that they each were willing to sell off everything else they had in order to purchase the find. One man unexpectedly stumbled across his treasure, and the other was conscientiously seeking it. The main point I see in relationship to the Kingdom of God would be that in Jesus we find something of supreme and ultimate worth - a Kingdom that supersedes anything the earthly life can offer. That treasure is the Source of ultimate righteousness, peace, and joy! But that treasure required everything He had, including His own blood, and it is also extremely costly to us in that it requires ALL of self. There is no “price” we could ever pay that would be sufficient to purchase this kind of treasure, but we’re called to be willing to offer everything we are and have in order to receive this spiritual wealth as a gift. This is a call to humility, recognizing that nothing in life is more worthy of our focus, efforts, and desire. What are we willing to sacrifice for it? It is a call to evaluate what we consider to be most important, recognizing that nothing in life is more valuable or worth our diligent pursuit. What are we chasing after in life? It’s a call to examine where our hearts are set, on earth or in heaven? Which do we love most? It's a call to live a joy-filled life, no matter what our circumstances may be! Do we maintain a focus on the demands and cares of THIS world, or the supreme glory of the NEXT? May we never lose the wonder and thrill of finding this Treasure (or actually, being found by Him)! jacquie7
These two parables speak of the Kingdom of heaven being a hidden treasure that is something much greater than worldly material wealth; a hidden treasure that one has to seek and sacrifice in order to find. It is so much greater than the world; that believers give up everything to live a life that would take us to the heavenly Kingdom. There we find true treasure in Jesus such as knowledge, wisdom, peace, joy, righteousness, and everything else that comes in relationship with Him. We should treasure heavenly things more than worldly things like our relationship with Jesus who is the Way to our salvation and path to the Kingdom of heaven.
