Trusting God
The Kingdom of God is small, because the only people who will be able to enter will those who come to Jesus by faith. The Kingdom of God will grow as people are witnessed to and except Jesus by faith, and repent of their sins will have eternal life, and will enter the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom door is narrow, because people who receive Jesus by faith will be able to enter, and those who do not enter the narrow way have chosen the world way which looks more appealing to them. The Kingdom of God is large and diverse because anyone, Jew or Gentile, can enter the Kingdom, and it is selective because only those who repent of their sins and answer Jesus
l.a.
Q4. (Luke 13:18-20) According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? I think, at present time, the kingdom is small because of the confines of our imaginations; I think that we cannot truly phathom the greatness of heaven. The seeds are planted for the kingdom to grow every time we share the Word or perform an act of kindness in His name. I believe that we must always be conscious of our thoughts and actions and rely on God's wisdom; this will lead us to the narrow gate. Because the invitation is offered to all, there will be a diverse group who will enter the kingdom, but compared to all that have received the invitation, relatively few will come. JanMary
Q4. (Luke 13:18-20) According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? In what ways does the Kingdom grow? The Kingdom was small in it's beginning, starting with Jesus then from Him to His disciples then to others, down through the ages till today. The Gospel spreads by word of mouth from one believer to an unbeliever and it only grows one heart at a time. It is small in that only a remnant of all the people in the world, will choose to receive the Gospel and be saved. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? There is only one way to enter....through the Lord Jesus Christ. That is an unbendable principle, without exception. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The banquet is large and diverse in that it includes an infinite number of believers from every nation, down through the ages. It is selective in that only those robed in the wedding garment...His robe of righteousness given at Salvation, before one dies, will be included. Travis63
According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? According to the parables in this lesson the Kingdom is small because the entrance way is narrow, entrance is through Christ Jesus. Being that entrance is through Christ people are to believe in and on Him, they are to love and obey Him as well. The Kingdom is small in comparison to the world however the number of people there will be great, John saw so many clothed with white robes, he says no man could a number, Revelations 7:4. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? By FAITH, by LOVE & compassion, by the fruit made known in the likeness of Christ. By walking as He commanded, and according to His will. By Believers adhering to the same elements as did the angel of Revelation 19:10 " I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." The Kingdom grows as our lives witnesses His love, compassion, mercy and glory. The kingdom grows as Believer witness to others as Jesus did. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? Jesus the Christ is the door, He is the way, being so entrance cannot be obtained other through Him. Those that heard Him, those that have witness His majesty and refuse to accept Him cannot enter by their own doings nor by efforts they have deemed are acceptable. He did not come to condemn, He came to save, however a person must believe. John 3:16 whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The banquet is large do to those in attendance, it is diverse because of those in attendance. It is selective because Jesus has the final say on who will enter in. Note: Christ declares that those who will weep and gnash of teeth their teeth when they see Abraham and Isaac and Jacob and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, (Luke 13:28). None of the previous mentioned knew Jesus or had a relationship with Him. (Hebrews 11) By, of and through faith the Old testament saints look forward to Christ thereby they are saved. I believe that there will be some people who have never heard the Gospel in the Kingdom. These people did not have the opportunity to heard the Gospel to accept it or reject it. My understanding of Romans 1:20 is that mankind no excuse to have faith in the True and Living God. They will be judged based on what they know. It could be that those who have never heard of Jesus Christ and the Gospel will be judged in a different way than those who have heard of Jesus and ignored. There are not multiple ways to God, there is only One way and that is through Jesus Christ who was the perfect sacrifice, the only Lamb that could atone for our sins. Scripture tells us that Jesus will judge in His next coming. I believe that He is just and will be just as He administers judgment. I as well believe in regards to those who never heard the Gospel, He will judge people on what they do know and not what they don't or can't know. Their faith I believe needs to be as was the saints of the Old Testament, Enoch, Job, etc...

In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The Kingdom starts small, with only a few people. It grows when more people become christian. The door is narrow because not many people will enter at all or at the same time. The banquet will be beautiful. It will be selective with guests.

It had a humble small beginning. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? It grows as more and more believers enter. Salvation is by grace through faith for those chosen by God; it does not accommodate every one. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? It is narrow in that it is difficult to enter. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The Kingdom starts like a baby small and one cell and grows, like a baby grows into a mature adult. There is only one way into the Kingdom, it is called the narrow way because it is the only way. It is made easy and yet it is hard. The banquet is full of people from every tongue, tribe and nation so it is large and it is also selective because only those who meet the invitation requirements are allowed in. God Bless! In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? Jesus is speaking about two different times here. The first time is now, and now is our calling to enter the Kingdom of God. Now is when Jesus set up His kingdom. Now we are to produce fruit worthy of entering the narrow gate later. Later there is a celebration for those who produce the fruit worthy to be placed on the banquet table. Delivered
Q3. (Luke 13:28-30) The great "feast in the kingdom of God" has guests from all over the world. Who are they? God promised the house of Israel that He would write His laws on their mind and put it on their hearts, not in the form of legalism, but that of “love” and the disciples never forgot what Jesus promised them about their place in His kingdom, however, the feast is not a promise to just them, it is a promise also to the Gentile believers, those who understood what Jesus meant in (Luke 13:3) “Everyone stands at the edge of spiritual death until he repents.” Those who will attend are those who repent of their sins, those who thirst after righteousness, obedient to God who called His people to be “holy” (Romans 14:17) The kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. Those at the feast are those who say “no” to ungodliness and worldly passions, they are the ones who go through the narrow way, those who live self controlled, upright, and godly lives. Who will be the ones thrown out and why? They are those who still practiced “sin” - workers of iniquity. Workers of iniquity are those who think they can come into the Kingdom and attend the feast on their terms and did not truly put their faith in Jesus, for true “faith” is seen in a changed heart, works follows faith, (Ephesians 2:10) we are created in Jesus to do good works. There is no room at the “feast” for workers of iniquity.
masika
We like to see big things happen. We like incredible success stories that give us hope that we too, could be successful. But the kingdom of God has small beginnings. The mustard seed is extremely small yet, given time, will grow into a large tree. For many of us, we can face anxiety when we try to compare the small seed that God has sown in us with a mature tree that took decades to form. But we must trust in the power of the seed, even when we see no sprout above the ground. As time goes on, we will be surprised as what seemed small and insignificant in our life becomes a place of refuge for many. The kingdom of God is narrow in that only one person to follow Jesus Christ. Finding salvation requires more concentrated effort than most people are willing to put forth. Obviously we cannot save ourselves
WALT39
Luke 13:18-20 - 18 Then Jesus asked, "What is the kingdom of God like? What shall I compare it to? 19 It is like a mustard seed, which a man took and planted in his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds perched in its branches." 20 Again he asked, "What shall I compare the kingdom of God to? According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? Only believers can enter. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? By people following and truly believing in Christ. One can not be a wishy washy believer. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? One has to be able to meet the requirements and when one does, then one will fit through the door. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? All are welcome, from the east, west, south and north, but the bottom line is you have to believe in Jesus.
Delivered
What ways is the Kingdom door narrow? The door to the Kingdom is narrow, so for one to enter through it, it takes great determination, even if one has to struggle with things that make it harder for him to enter, he understands, the Kingdom is worth any struggle one may have to go through, for wide is the love of God. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The banquet is diverse, for the invitation is open to the world. The world may RSVP to attend the banquet, however it is selective to those who go through its entrance, the narrow door, many want to RSVP, but want to go through the wide door, however, that leads to destruction, you see, it is selective to only those who choose to go through Gods narrow door, that of righteousness, peace, and joy, an invitation received through God's Son. janel
Q4 The Kingdom is compared to a mustard seed or a yeast which is small in size. Through it's influences, it grows to become large and power. As God closes the big entrance door, He leaves only the side door open which is small and narrow. This is to test the faithful of their allegiance and obedience and to learn the cost of entering it. God the Father is a very generous God. He invites all His people to taste His lavish banquet He has prepared for them. However, there are few takers. He is selective because the faithful need to go through His test by entering through the narrow gate. Those who can pass and live up to His criteria are allowed to enter. Guitar Jim
Q4. (Luke 13:18-20) According to these parables in this lesson, in what ways is the Kingdom small? The Kingdom can't be seen by the naked eye. It's in the hearts and minds of believers all over the world. In addition, when the parable was given the Kingdom WAS small, just starting out as it were. In what ways does the Kingdom grow? The Kingdom grows as more people believe in Jesus as Savior and Lord and follow his precepts. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? There is only one way in, compared to other religions where you can in some cases actually create your own door to paradise. We're given the right to enter by following Christ's teaching and trusting in God the Father. In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? There will be people from every race, tribe, and nation at the banquet. That's the diversity right there. On the other hand, many who want to go can't because of their unbelief. That's the scary part really. We all hope that our particular denomination is teaching us the right way. Then there are those who are dogmatic in believing theirs is the only true way to worship God and that they'll be part of only a very select few who will be saved. We think they're wrong and they "know" we're wrong! I hope and pray that the truth lies somewhere in the middle.

In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? There is a specific way to enter the Kingdom. Only one way! through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, that would make it narrow. The gift Christ gives is open to all peoples which would make it large. At the beginning of our journey with the Lord after accepting Him as savior and Lord we appear small and defenseless like a new born babe, But as we grow in grace and knowledge of our Savior and we allow the Holy Spirit to take control we become strong and mighty in the Lord and can be used to bring glory and honor to our blessed Savior. The seed grows into a tree the feeds and nourishes others.

In what ways does the Kingdom grow? In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? In what way is the Kingdom banquet, on the one hand, large and diverse, and on the other, selective? The Kingdom is small compared to the many souls who are without Christ. Only those who have put their faith and trust in Christ will enter the kingdom of God. The bible says narrow is the way to heaven, broad is the way to destruction and many there be who will go there at. The kingdom grows by witness and telling others about the need of a Savior. Think of how many people have lived and are living right now, how many truly have Our Savior, in their heart. I think this is why the Kingdom is small. But it is growing, more people are coming to Christ, once they hear the Word. The time is at hand for all to witness to friends and family, for we know not when Jesus will return. The banquet is large for all the saints, it is also selective, because it is for the saints.

The kingdom grows as believers enter in....when we accept Christ Jesus and follow His footsteps. In what ways is the Kingdom door narrow? The Kingdom door is narrow because we have to give up some things of ourselves to be able to follow Christ. We need to know that the time may not always be there for us to make a decision. Highohfaith
Jesus compared the Kingdom to a mustard seed which is very tiny, but once the seed is planted in rich soil it grows to a great size and attracts many to it's branches, so it is with Kingdom of God, once our faith planted, and we begin to grow in obedience, and service to the Lord then we will attract many others to the Kingdom of God. Philippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform [it] until the day of Jesus Christ: The Kingdom door is narrow because many will be called but few will do what it takes to make it into through the narrow door. Few will truly accept Jesus, walk in obedience. Cloth themselves in his righteousness - the wedding gown. The banquet is large and diverse because ALL, from EVERY NATION, are invited. But it is selective in the fact that many will not accept the invitation, they will not accept Jesus as their savior and the one and ONLY way to enter the Kingdom and if they accept Him, many won't do what is required to enter through the narrow door. Many will refuse to walk in obedience to the Lord, or will give up when trouble hits them, or will put it off untill it is to late.
alexandria
According to these parables in this lesson, the way in which the Kingdom is small is because, when christianity first begun it started with the apostles and disciples who followed Jesus and would learn as they followed him, that he was truly the son of God. Many people of that time were won over to Christ because of the positive way he spoke and the miraculous healings he performed, as in time the Apostles would also do. Christianity started with a small group of believers. The ways in which the Kingdom grows is because of the first believers who traveled around with the apostles and won more people over to Christ because of their unwavering faith and they were filled with the Holy Spirit. As the followers of Christ grew, they traveled to far away places where Christ had not as yet been heard of and kept winning people over to Christ by showing their unwavering faith and allowing the Holy Spirit to work through them. The Kingdom grows larger and larger with every person who converts and gives their life to the Lord and allows Christ to come into their life and be their Savior and Lord. The ways in which the Kingdom doors are narrow are, depending on how we practice our belief in Jesus as our Savior and Lord. If we trust in him totally to provide whatever we need to survive and to always know that even when times get tough, if we believe he is in control everything will work out and we will be stronger in our faith but if we do not allow Jesus total control of our lives through faith and trust then the doors become narrowed because lack of faith and trust makes it impossible to enter the Kingdom. Even though the doors are probably normal size, the narrowness only is visible to those who are not prepared to enter. The Kingdom banquet, on one hand, is large and diverse because of the people who will be there. People from every nation and different languages and different backgrounds will be there but they will all be able to understand one another as God gives back to everyone the gift of understanding one another, which was taken during the building of the Tower of Babel. On the other hand it is very selective as to how you measure up, as to where you will be seated and how much you will be given in the Kingdom. In other words we will not all have the seats of honor and even if we think we deserve the best, only God knows who deserves to be on his right or his left and whether we will be in a place of honor or a place of lowly servant. Leonard C
The Kingdom is small because the seed has just been planted. The Kingdom grows as new disciples enter by the narrow gate and earnestly strive to create and remain in a relationship with the Lord. The Kingdom door is narrow because it is difficult to give up a lifetime of bad habits, or worldly things, as in the case of the rich young ruler (Mt 19:16-26). The Kingdom banquet is, on the one hand, large and diverse because disciples will come from all corners of the earth, but it is selective, on the other hand, because few are willing to lay down their lives to accept the one Jesus offers.
