Craig
Q4. (2 Corinthians 7:5) What are the distinctions between fear, faith, and courage? Why is being honest about our fears better than pretending we don’t have any fears? How did Paul deal with his fears? Fear is the built-in, God created ability for people to sense danger and respond to it. It is a survival mechanism. However, as Christians when we encounter or sense danger we should take to God for guidance as to how to deal with it. We trust Him to protect us. This takes courage because we are placing our lives into the hands of another in the face of danger or what we perceive to be danger. Being honest about our fears is a genuine testimony to our human frailty and our trust in God as our Shepherd to watch over and protect us. Being honest about our fears encourages others regarding their fears. Everyone has fears whether they will admit or not. Honesty is a witness to our honesty and makes our testimony relatable and effective in reaching others for Jesus Christ or encouraging others in their walk with Christ. Paul placed his trust in God to overcome fear.

Much we fear never happens; much we fear is from false old experiences, led by the devil to confuse us. Sadly, he is more wise than us and without God we are easily tricked to join the pleasure of the world. Without prayer, meditation, we are lost and will fall into sin. Heaven can help us; we need to take the action and reach our to our permanent protection, our savior, Jesus. He has overcome all. and we so often for get this. So I pray now and thank God for this blessed moment of peace.
WinstonY
Q4. (2 Corinthians 7:5) What are the distinctions between fear, faith, and courage? Why is being honest about our fears better than pretending we don't have any fears? How did Paul deal with his fears? Fear in the Bible text has two possible meaning. One is to be afraid of something or somebody. Secondly, in the Bible, fear can mean awe and reference. Also in the Bible there can be a meaning that includes both fear and reverence. For example when Isaiah saw his vision in the temple he exclaimed : “Woe to me!I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the Lord Almighty.” These words seem to be filled with all of fear, awe and reverence. Courage is the ability to go forward in spite of your fears. Faith in God gives us courage for if God is for us who can be against us. 1. If we admit our fears and name them then we can deal with them better and understand them. 2. The people we are dealing with can understand our fears and, being aware of them, can be more able to cope with these fears and be more understanding of why we do some of the things we do in reaction to those fears. 3. . If we name our fears to God then God will empower us to deal with those fears. Paul told his fears to the Corinthians , from his heart. I am also confident that Paul prayed and talked to God before he wrote his letters.
lighthouse2014
Q4. (2 Corinthians 7:5) What are the distinctions between fear, faith, and courage? Why is being honest about our fears better than pretending we don’t have any fears? How did Paul deal with his fears? The difference between fear and faith is that fear is a lack of faith. Through faith we take courage in a time of trails and tribulations. Fear is a natural reaction to danger and our bodies natural react to this, but through faith in God we gain courage and give God the praise and glory for overcoming the fear. Being honest about fears is better than pretending or lying that we have no fear. All people will experience fear one way or another in life, whether it is death, threats or physical beatings we can overcome these fears through faith in our God. Paul dealt with his fears by praising God and having faith the Lord would help him to overcome these fears. He had admitted to others that he had faced fears and dangers for the mission of spreading the gospel to all men.
Krissi
There's a fear that sometimes overwhelms me that God will not rescue or deliver me, that my fate is to be a martyr ... or worse yet, a living martyr. This is the fear that is opposite to faith, an unhealthy fear (for a Christian), and a fear that crushes hope. There's also a fear in circumstance that seems healthy and normal. And then there's the "fear of the Lord" which is faith.
