Travis63
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your “store of seed”? He increases “seed” we sow for His Kingdom purposes. The seeds (offerings given)sowed here in which Paul was collecting was to help the Believers not only back in Jerusalem. It as well would BLESSED the givers, just as it did the Macedonians whom provided aid to Paul as he was about the Fathers business. How do greed and generosity differ from each other? Greed focus remains on Self, generosity does not. Greed has a likeness to ****, with relating to money it could be deemed as loving money and material wealth. Generosity focus does not remain on Self and it is not limited to the distrubution of funds / money. Relating to giving greed is contrary, it conveys accumulating, collecting however not with other in mind. The expense can be costly for others because it comes at their expense, it can poison or corrupt. Generosity conveys a spirit of concern, care and moves to aid or help, the focus is about sharing, giving not collecting for self. It conveys an act of grace - good will. Gererosity conveys that a person's heart has been cleansed of self-interest and filled with the servant spirit of Christ. What is God’s promise here to generous givers? Being enriched in everything to all bountifulness, made rich. Not for the Corinthians own riches (masses of physical things or lavish lifestyles), but for their kindness, for the glory of the Lord, and the good of men. [Love the Lord God and others as one should love themselves]. who causes through us thanksgiving to God (KJV) Your generosity will produce thanksgiving to God because of us. (GWT) After giving according to Paul's guidance with kindness and willingly, the thanksgiving is directed to God. God gets the glory! and He should for he gave the ability to be in a position to give. He through grace provided the example to show grace. hanks
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your “store of seed”? How do greed and generosity differ from each other? What is God’s promise here to generous givers? By increasing our ‘store of seed’ God is enabling us to sow more so that we will have more resources for doing good works - more for us to give for His purposes. He will multiply the seed we have sown. That is, He will give us greater opportunity and there will be more abundant results from showing kindness to His people. Furthermore, He will increase the fruits of our righteousness. It is not about the accumulation of personal wealth - wealth for our own use. Here greed is all about ME while giving and being generous is all about GOD. We can never impoverish ourselves by giving to the Lord. God’s promises us that if we give generously He will always see to our personal needs and will provide more than we personally need - so that even more can be given. We must also remember that the results of our kindness will endure forever (v 9) – we will be laying up for ourselves treasures in heaven (Mat 6:20). Lion of Grace
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your “store of seed”? How do greed and generosity differ from each other? What is God’s promise here to generous givers? The purpose of God increasing our store of seed is to plant more seed! He gives the increase, so we can continue to give. Greed and generosity differ in that greed is for self. It is accumulating, hoarding, having more than you need and spending on self. It also shows distrust in God because a person thinks they are taking care of self and they have to hoard huge amounts to always take care of self. There is no trust that God will provide for needs or that modest living and savings for self is sufficient because he will be faithful to supply for them. Generosity is an open hand. It receives blessings but remains open to give blessings also. Greed opens to receive, but closes and clutches tightly holding on but never freely giving. Greed satisfies self and generosity gives away with joy. God's promise to the generous giver is to always generously supply for our needs and for the new seed to sows for others. You can't out give God!
JanMary
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your “store of seed”?That the increase may manifest itself in active goodness, kindness and charity! (amp. V10) (the more seed "planted", the greater the harvest!)How do greed and generosity differ from each other?Greed is motivated by selfish gain without thought to others well being. Generosity is just the opposite: It's the unselfish outpouring of resources for the benefit of others. In this case, it's for the mutual benefit and growth of the Kingdom of God, and for blessing Him and those who benefit from the seed, which rebounds again to the sower! We are to be "distributors" of God's resources, rather than "gatherers".What is God’s promise here to generous givers?God promises to multiply our resources and to increase the fruits of our righteousness which manifests itself in active goodness, kindness and acts of charity so that we will be enriched in all things and in every way, which will bring forth thanksgiving to God! The exact opposite of the way the world operates and thinks! The Kingdom of God truly is an "upside down" kingdom!

Delivered
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your "store of seed"? God's purpose is that the cycle of being pressed down and flowing over may continue so that the Good News will not stop, but that it may continue to bring forth a produce, that will give the recipients a reason for praising God for meeting their needs, pressed down and flowing over in thanks to the obedient believers, you just can’t out give God. How do greed and generosity differ from each other? Proverbs 21:26 well describes the difference, GREED feeds from the "flesh" of a slothful person, one who is reluctant to make a commitment, his greedy desires are what feeds his wants, to have them fulfilled at the expense of others, seeking to receive free money, while GENEROSITY feeds from the heart that is seeking after righteousness, charity, the desire to give without grudging. What is God's promise here to generous givers? God will supply their need as they give from the GENEROSITY of their heart.
s8nfighter
Let's just assume that the bible is the written word of God and Paul was just writting down what the Holy Spirit told him. If this proves to be true then the seeds sown are not dollars; rather they are the seeds which produce the fruits of the Spirit. I believe that the seeds of which Paul speaks of are the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Among these gifts is the gift of giving. The gift of the Holy Spirit (seed) sown in faith, hope, and love produces a fruit. And the fruits of the Holy Spirit are: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. These fruits harvested from the work of our faith sown in love change the desires of the heart. God says that He made only one mistake and that mistake was mankind.. It was the desires of the heart of mankind which gave God regret. No. I believe that God's seeds are that of which I spoke. Certainly the vehicle comes in the form of a dollar sign but that dollar sign withoutlove is just a dollar sign. Darrell

quilter
GOD GIVES US RESOURCES TO USE. THEY ARE NOT TO BE USED FOOLISHLY HIDDEN OR THROWN AWAY. THEY ARE TO BE USED TO PRODUCE MORE CROPS. WHEN WE USE WHAT GOD HAS GIVEN US HE WILL GIVE US MORE THAN WE CAN USE AND GIVE. GREED IS NOT USING RESOURES GOD HAS GIVEN US WE USE IT TO ENTERTAIN OURSELVES AND GIVEN NO THOUGHT TO ANYONE NEEDING HELP. GENEROSITY IS GIVING WITH A LOVING HEART AND A LOVING ATTITUDE. IF WE DO THIS WE WILL HAVE MORE THAN WE CAN USE. USE WHAT HE HAS GIVEN US WITH A LOVING AND NON- GREEDY HEART AND HE WILL FILL OUR STORE HOUSES TO THE RUNNING OVER PART. bruceerobert
Q3. (2 Corinthians 9:10-11) According to these verses, what is the purpose of God increasing your "store of seed"? This is common sense. When you have more, you can share with others because you have more. But even when you have less, you should really share what God has blessed you with. So by having more, you may give more to the poor. Just like Peter when was asked for money at the gate, but instead he tells the good news to the beggar. How do greed and generosity differ from each other? Greed is always thinking about himself and does not concern about others. Generosity is a good behavior that you share what you have even if you think it would not be enough for you and your family. You give freely when asked and no complains or any negative feelings. What is God's promise here to generous givers? God promises that when you give, you give freely. And when you give more, you will be rewarded highly and greatly. This reminds me of throwing a ball into the air. The more higher you threw it up in the air, the more pain you may feel when you catch it.
