One may provide the seed and another plant the crop, but God gets the increase. The saints who are blessed by this offering will give thanksgiving to God. According to the recipient and or any onlooker's heart, as we give willingly / cheerfully, as it fulfills needs it gains merit. As done in a manner honoring God, the recipient and onlookers who's hearts are touched will joyfully express their appreciation and thanks, this will be a conduit to God directly if they are Believers and indirectly if they are not. As our light reflective so shine that men might see the good works were made for God will receive glory with thanksgiving. How is our giving a demonstration of God’s grace? Cheerfulness relating to giving carries the same connotations as God extending grace to us. Our giving just as it demonstrated to the saints in Jerusalem via the Corinthians Christians that the grace of God was showing in / through. Why is God’s gift of Jesus termed “surpassing”? Surpassing - exceeding beyond anything every known or imagined. The strength and power of the Christian principle, manifesting itself in doing good to those whom an individual does not have an immediate or direct relationship with. The gift of Christ was given even though we were not in intimate relationship with God. It is surpassing - exceeding because Jesus as His gift surpasses what man knew, had known and will be able to comprehend. Why is God’s gift of Jesus termed “indescribable”? Man's utterances cannot appropriately express the magnitude of Christ the Gift. Unspeakable meaning Christ the Gift is greater than the mind can conceive, with the ability we have to think and speak there isn't a language or level at our grasp that can adequately express or explain Christ the Gift. Our giving will not only supply the needs of people but will also result in people giving thanks to our Lord. It is by His grace that we have been saved, and it is only because we are new creatures that we give generously without a hidden motive. We give out of gratitude for what our Lord Jesus has done and means to us. God’s gift of Jesus is termed ‘surpassing’ because that is what it is: there is nothing else like it, it surpasses everything in its excellence. The same with the term ‘indescribable’. It defies expression or description! Here, on earth, we will never be able to fathom the depth of God’s love for us, the infinite value of our salvation, and the gift of eternal life. Our giving should prompt thanksgiving because the people to whom we give see the Gospel in action and for that they give thanks to God. How is our giving a demonstration of God's grace? Our giving is a demonstration of God's grace in that in giving we show our love to the needy just as God showed love to us and sent His Son to die for us. Why is God's gift of Jesus termed "surpassing"? God's gift of Jesus is termed "surpassing" because there is no any other gift one can think of that exceeds God's gift of Jesus. Why is God's gift of Jesus termed "indescribable"? God's gift of Jesus is termed "indescribable" because of the incredible love to us that prompted it and also that nature of the gift: God's very and only Son to come and die for us sinners. We show our love for Him as we give freely--as He has loved us & given to us freely. The gift of Jesus could not have been given by anyone else. We shouldn't be giving grudgingly or for our own praise, we should be giving generously, cheerfully and to be used as a servant of God to demonstrate HIS care for another. Our giving demonstrates His grace in that He cares for everyone. His grace sought us and bought us. It wasn't that we are deserving of anything. He just gave to us freely out of love and longing. Our giving should demonstrate this also. God's gift is " surpassing" in that nothing compares to it. The gift of Jesus and the sacrificial offering He made, is not measurable in any other thing or act of giving. Jesus was the ultimate gift from God and nothing can compare. Why is it termed "indescribable" ? I think anyone who has deeply taken in what was done on the cross for us understands "indescribable." Where can a person even begin to really understand that kind of love, forgiveness and giving? Our human minds grasp some of it, but to really sit and tell of ALL Jesus did, well, I can be at a loss for words. I can tell of salvation and my experiences with God, but to fully grasp and explain how God gave His Only Begotten Son, to die for us and the obedience and love of Christ to fulfill all that.... just so we could live......is really beyond human comprehension! They see the gift from us as coming from God first. God gave us life eternal life while we were lost in in our sins by the sacrificial death of His dear son Jesus christ on the cross. It should be so natural that when you have you want to share with those who don't have that it wouldn't be anything out of the ordinary. Everything we have is out of God's grace and our new nature, which hopefully we exercise the giving part, is out of God's grace. God's gift of Jesus is termed "surpassing" because it does surpass anything we could think of giving. In our old natures we wouldn't have thought of giving anything because we were wretched sinners with nothing good in us much less sacrifice ourselves like our God did for us. God's gift of Jesus is termed "indescribable" because it is and the fact that he gave it to me is mind boggling. I can only say Thank you God! Help me to live a life that is honoring to you. If it people that are receiving the offerings then they will be grateful for knowing it was God that prompted the person heart to give. The reason that God’s gift of Jesus is termed “surpassing” is because there has never been anything like it before nor will there be anything after except the second coming of Jesus Christ. Our giving is a demonstration of God's grace in that the money is used to be a blessing in all sorts of areas. Sometimes we know how it's used and sometimes we don't. God's gift of Jesus is the supreme gift to us because we needed Jesus so bad and we didn't deserve the grace that Jesus provided when we accepted His death for our sins on the cross. Our giving in abundance prompts thanksgiving to God, it shows our obedience to God to helps supply needs for our brothers and sisters and helps further the gospel. Our giving demonstrates God's grace to us. We give in abundance and with a cheerful heart, because of this giving God will bless us, he will open the gates of heaven and pure forth his abundance on us. God's gift of Jesus is termed surpassing because he sent his Son, to die for our sins. There is no greater love than sending his own Son down to earth to suffer and die. There can be no greater love than this, God willing to sacrifice his son for mankind. Because of God's great love for mankind, he seen fit to send his son to earth. Jesus, having stepped away and leaving all his glory and position in heaven, he came down to teach and manifest what the Father had told him to do. Because of his suffering for our sins, the gift Jesus offers us is surpassing, in the fact that his love for mankind was the greatest thing ever to be imagined. Because Jesus was the Son of God his incredible love for us is indescribable, only God by sending his son could show his love for us by the sacrifice he made for our sins. Giving is a testimony to a different way of looking at wealth -- we see it as something ephemeral and God-given, valuable only in how it helps our extended families and the church family. When we give unexpectedly, others notice, secular people, that is. Even secular people who have given away their own wealth, do so with different motives that do we. We give because we're commanded to give ... and because, in the best case scenario, we feel love for those to whom we're giving. We give without expecting anything in return: no name on a building, no praise from others, no sense of welling pride. As God freely gave to us in the death of Jesus His Son, we should freely give to others, perhaps to our own demise. Grace is free. It's not only unmerited, but when it gives, it never looks back. Secular giving looks back to see who noticed and to hear the applause -- Christian giving ignores self-inflating praise or hubris.
