tgandy
Jesus was worthy to open the scroll and bring history to its consummation because by his dying and rising again he pruchased us by his blood. He made for us a kingdom of priests to serve God. Jesus was worthy because He suffered and died for us, and rose again defeating death so we could go directly to the Father. He did this for us to draw us to him and to the Father. We are His. He is most worthy!
Craig
Q3. (Revelation 5:9, 12) What made Jesus so worthy of opening the scroll and thus bringing history to its consummation? Why was this act so noteworthy and praiseworthy? Jesus was so worthy because He was slain and with His blood Jesus purchased men for God making them a kingdom and priests for God. The only Son of God, sinless and pure, carried the sins of humanity on Himself to be crucified on the cross for human sin. A universal atonement for sin and for the redemption of those who believe on the name of the only begotten Son of God, Jesus Christ. Jesus is the salvation of a lost and sick humanity. He is the bridge between God and mankind. Jesus' sacrifice is worthy of our worship and praise. Jesus' suffering under Pilate and the Jews, death, burial, and resurrection are beyond noteworthy and praiseworthy. Jesus is the Son of God, Prince of Peace, King of Kings, Lord of Lords, the Alpha and Omega and the creator of all things that were created. He willingly shed his blood for a corrupt, immoral, lawless, and rebellious creation. What an amazing love God has shown through His Son for our salvation. Even more amazing is that Jesus submitted His will to the will of His Father putting Him through circumstances we cannot even begin to comprehend. rn_flobow
There are many good answers here. I will add just a "few" of my own thoughts here. The Lamb is the ONLY one who is worthy because it is through the lamb alone that the people on Earth can be saved. It is the through Grace of the Cross and the price paid for our lives that we are enabled to go to heaven. There are TWO types of religion in the world essentially. One teaches that a person can "earn" their way to Heaven. The other teaches that only through Grace of Jesus can we go to Heaven. That is what sets Christians apart and that is what sets Jesus apart and on high and worthy of all praise.
JoanG
Jesus was sinless and guiltless. However, He took our sins upon himself and suffered and died for us. He shed His blood because He loved us so much. Because of this self-less act, He became the only one that is able to open these. He allowed Himself to be sacrificed for us out of love. Paulhoward
His complete obedience to the Father. His sinlessness. That he was willing to do it out of love for us. That he knew everything that was coming and still went through with it. That he faced the depth of human sin, but also the separation from the Father. he saw me and did it!!!! That he suffered the worst any of us can suffer, such as betrayal & deepest rejection.
Guitar Jim
Q3. (Revelation 5:9, 12) What made Jesus so worthy of opening the scroll and thus bringing history to its consummation? Jesus is the Son of God. Yet it is not that fact alone that makes Him worthy to open the scroll. His supreme sacrifice of His own life, laid down for all mankind's redemption, and His resurrection, brought about by His Father, Almighty God, that qualify the Lamb of God . . the Lion of the tribe of Judah and the Root of David . . to be the ONLY one with the authority, power, and the very worthiness to open the scroll and thereby usher in God's ultimate plan for all things in Heaven and Earth. This is a very powerful scripture passage. Why was this act so noteworthy and praiseworthy? In no other religion since the world began has the god of any religion died for sinners in their place as a substitutionary sacrifice. We are uniquely privileged to be included in the number of the Saints of God.
Old Jerry
While Jesus was on earth He never sinned. He was God son and could have saved His own life if He wanted to. They crucified Him and God raised Him up from the dead and place Him at His right hand. Therefore He was worthy of opening the scroll and bring history to is consummation. TraceyF
He is the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the root of David who has completed the sacrifice, the Messiah. He is worthy to be praise.
romie090
Jesus Christ is frequently portrayed as the sacrificial Lamb of God, and the phrase "Worthy is the Lamb" is used in the Bible, particularly in Revelation 5:12, where angels declare that Jesus is deserving of "power, riches, wisdom, strength, honour, glory, and blessing" because of His atonement for humanity's sins.
