Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

Two reasons, one is that he is keeping the church faithful and pure in doctrine. He is teaching them how to help end encourage one another. He can also help build their faith and explain the Word of God in more detail for them. 2nd, he is a young man. This is wonderful development work for him He will learn and develop himself as he is helping them as well. He is the future of the church, the next generation, it is important to expose him while he is still under Paul's helping hand.

In what ways was this a sensitive role. This is a very new church, and Paul had to leave before he was satisfied that the seed he has planted has been properly developped. Paul is clearly concerned about their development, thus he sends the best man he has available to do what he could not do.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment? He is taking responsibility, is taught how to spread the Word of God, develop his missionary strengths and many more

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom? More and more people can spread the Word of God. More and more people move closer to God as they take up the responsibility of teaching others God's Word.

It also opens up time for the church leader to pay attention to other areas of the church. Also, the more hands the easier the work gets done.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

As a minister of God, Timothy was called to strengthen and encourage them in their "FAITH" because as Paul told us in (1Th 2:14) that the Gentile believers will also suffer things by their countrymen as did the believing Jews did in Judea."

In what ways was this sensitive role?

Suffering and trials are something those of "LITTLE FAITH" do not want to hear.

This is why Timothy was called, for they will face persecution from their own people, their own countrymen as did the Jewish believers from their countrymen the unbelieving Judeans;; Even Christ promised persecution will come, Salvation is not for the weak in faith, we are called to stand “STRONG" - This is why Timothy came, to "ENCOURAGE" them in their "FAITH."

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

It is always a great help to our being when we are used of God, as we stand strong against the work of Satan, and as we strengthen and encourage others.

This assignment is not just for Timothy, but for us as well.

Paul wanted to know how the church held up in persecution. If they were experiencing persecution, strengthening and encouragement were necessary.

Paul didn't want the new church to be worried about the persecution they had gone through.

Timothy needed encouragement as well. Put in this role, the people benefit from the love Timothy showed them, and he was encouraged as well. It was time for him to be putting his gifts to work as he had watched Paul use his gifts.

As each person excercises their own gifts, the body runs smoothly. Leaders can get burned out easily and it is important that they delegate tasks to others. That's what discipleship is--preparing others to use their gifts to serve the church.

Q2. (1 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

The church was young and undoubtedly under attack, as is always the case. Timothy was sent to strengthen, and establish, to exhort, comfort and encourage the Thessalonians, as well as to find out how they were "walking" and to let Paul know, as he was nearly frantic to have communication from and about the fledgling body of believers, whom he called "our glory and our joy!"

In what ways was this a sensitive role. How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

Timothy was young and would need to talk a balance between faith without causing the church to fret or fear the persecution and difficulties that would come. His assignment was to see that they were not disturbed and beguiled and led astray by afflictions and difficulties which are unavoidable and are our appointed lot as followers of Christ. Timothy's preparation and exhortation was to help them to remain in faith and to STAND regardless of what may come and as a result, Timothy was strengthened. He was timid and inexperienced and tended to be fearful and rattled himself, with stomach issues. He certainly was aided and encouraged by being sent on this mission, and grew in his own faith.

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

No one is an island unto himself...we are the Body of Christ, meant to function in harmony and in sync with one another. We are to aid and assist one another, to strengthen and encourage one another, rather than to try to function as amputated arms and legs. Alone, we are more susceptible to the attacks and discouragement of the evil one, and are more likely to fail in our faith and service.

The old adage is true: Many hands make the work light.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important? In what ways was this a sensitive role. How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment? How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

The Thessalonians had been persecuted because of their confession of Christ Jesus. This was a criticial time for the young church plant. Satan was probably dropping subtle suggestions that maybe they wrong after all to in becoming Christians. So Paul sent Timothy to strengthen in their faith, to encourage them in staying the course, and teaching them to expect opposition.

Encouraging them to bear it bravely and to rejoice in it. The Thessalonians needed encouragement not to buckle under the pressure of persecution and opposition. To share with them that is not strange that they should suffer so severely, but that it was normal for Christians and not to be shaken or lose heart. But to trust in the Lord.

Suffering is always a sensitive issue and this assigment would help Timothy grow as a young Pastor.

Delegating ministry responsibility is good training for the team and at times puts the right person in the right place at the right time as God deems it appropriate and not the team leader. A good ministry team is well trained and flexible. It is not ego-centric around the senior guy.

Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

Paul had only spent 3 Sabbath Days with them as a disclipler, teacher and church planter before he was forced to leave.(Acts 17) As new believers, I'm sure there was so much more he wished to share with them about the gospel of Christ. Paul showed them that they were not alone or abandoned in their trials, by sending Timothy. He could remind them of God's love for them and that He will never leave or forsake them.

In what ways was this a sensitive role.

They didn't know Timothy; he wasn't with Paul and Silas when they first came to Thessalonica. Trust and acceptance could have been an issue early on, when he first arrived; especially in light of all that had occured when Jason and other church members were brought before the authorities who were seeking Paul.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

It showed him that Paul had great confidence in him to stand in his absence. It also gave him the opportunity to put into practice all that Paul had taught him as his disciple; to encouraged and strenghtened this church.

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

Christ delegated ministry to His disciples as He sent them to take the gospel message to the ends of the earth. That has been repeated over and over again throughout the centuries. It causes the gospel message to be spread and for believers to partner with God and to walk in His will. For the Body of Christ (church) to function as it should; Christ's hands and feet.

Q2. (1 Thessalonians 3:2-3)

Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

In what ways was this a sensitive role.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

Since the apostles were chased out of the city, Paul could only assume that these new Christians were under attack and that they might have been led astray from Christ. Therefore, and because of his inability to return to Thessalonica, Timothy was sent to strengthen and encourage them in their faith. So we see Timothy being sent on both a nurturing and a fact-finding mission. He had to stabilize the Thessalonians in their faith, to remind them that suffering for Christ was unavoidable, and then he had to report back to Paul with the news of how they were doing. This task as a strengthener and encourager was important as they needed confirmation and comfort in the Christian faith; someone to come and stabilise the situation – someone like Timothy. This was a sensitive role as he not only had to be careful about returning to Thessalonica but also because he was so young and inexperienced. However, the faith Paul had shown in Timothy must have given him the confidence needed for this assignment. If Paul could trust the credibility of Timothy, the Thessalonians could as well. Paul had written before, "But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you shortly, that I also may be encouraged when I know your state. For I have no one like-minded, who will sincerely care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are of Christ Jesus" (Philippians 2:19-21). By delegating ministry the Kingdom benefits as there are now more and more labourers able to spread the good news.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important? In what ways was this a sensitive role. How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment? How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

The Thessalonians were under severe pressure and persecution after Paul was forced out. Paul was afraid that the tender newness of the church (and he only preached 3 Sabbaths!) could possibly affect the people who were under extreme pressure. He was concerned if they had the strength or enough maturity to stand strong in their new belief. Timothy, was sent to strengthen and encourage them and to bolster their endurance and remind them of what Paul had taught them. Paul himself could not go, but trusted Timothy with the care of the Thessalonians whom He loved like a father loves his children.

This was a sensitive role for Timothy, because when we encourage someone, it needs to be a positive and gracious role. Timothy was sent to build up and equip the people further. He was to express the like minded love that Paul had for the Thessalonians. Paul knew they were lacking in some areas and hoped to fill those areas with truth and grieved he couldn't be there himself. Paul wanted Timothy to go because he did felt the same about the Thessalonians and had concern for them also.

It helped Timothy to be sent on this assignment, because he grew in maturity also. Paul had mentored him and this was a way to put into practice all Paul had taught him. The same in the church today, we were mentored by someone more mature in the faith, we eventually were sent out to mentor others and we send those others who we mentored out also! This process equips many and grows all into strength and maturity. The church grows and it grows with mature believers! If only one small group declares the maturity and they are only constantly holding on to doing everything....then the church doesn't grow. It stagnates or people eventually leave not matured, opportunity is lost to grow disciples and the church itself becomes a revolving door church.

Q. Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

A. Timothy's role was important because though he was not as influential as Paul, he was considered a coworker of Paul. The same Holy Ghost power that dwelt in Paul was evident in Timothy. The Thessalonians respected Timothy because of his association with Paul. Timothy brought them words of encouragement from Paul which instilled strength and courage in the church.

As Christians there are times when we may become discoursged and will need people who are good encouragers to do just that, especially a new Christian. His role was so important so that these new believers would not turn back from following Christ and know that the trial that they were going through would past and to encourage and strengthen the brothers so that they would stay the course and not give up. Reminding them that they were not alone.

Q. In what ways was this a sensitive role?

A. This was a sensitive role due to the ongoing persecution of the young Thessalonian church. Timothy's attitude had to be one of courage and not appearing fearful. He had to fulfill his role as strengthener and encourager.

Q. How did it help Timothy?

A. It help in that it showed Paul's confidence in him by sending Timothy to the Thessalonians. As he did what he was sent to do his faith in God was strengthened and he was able to see that he could do all things through Christ who strengthened him.

Q. How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

A. As everyone does his or her part more for the Kingdom can be accomplished. One or two people cannot do it all. Delegation is very important. It is part of the great commission given to His disciples by Jesus, which has been extended to us. "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit." Matt 6:19

Jesus has delegated the ministry of the Gospel to us, praise God!

Timothy’s role as a strengthener and encourager is so important because this attribute compliments a teacher/preacher when ministering to a troubled congregation. This was a sensitive role because the new Believers were going through persecution and needed comfort and encouragement. Timothy's role did in fact bring solace in the time of need just as we'd bring when the opportunity presents. When the point man or woman of a congregation is unavailable to bring encouragement and exhortation for strengthening; they should delegate the assignment to a trusted minister who can, under the leading of the Holy Spirit take an encouraging word to those who need it.

The Thessolonians were undergoing persecution and trial. They definetley needed someone to encourage ,motivate help and guide them through this time. Therefore Timothy's role as a strengthener and encourager very important.

Timothy's role was sensitive because he had to go and encourage the new Christians. He had to be bold and full of courage at the face of opposition and persecution. He had to be strong in his faith and go and help these Christians in need.

Each one in the ministry has been equipped with a special gift. These gifts can be used by delegating work in the Ministry according to their gifts and potential. This helps the leader to concentrate more his work of pastoring to the congregation. While all work together for the Lord .yes it helps the Kingdom of God.

Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager was important because the Church in Thessalonica were facing severe persecution and needed to be strengthened and build up so as to be able to stand firm.

Paul was not allowed to visit the Thessanian church again and thus Timothy who was junior minister had to carry out this assignment that was very important but there was a possibility of also facing the persecution. This made the assignment sensitive.

Delegation helps the ministry as people of different skills and opportunities can avail themselves for service where others cannot.

Paul was concerned that the pressure would be too much for His new church and would become unsettled.Timothy who is his brother and God's fellow worker would therefore continue to spread the Gospel of Christ.

It was sensitive because they knew beforehand that they were to be pressed with difficulties and made to suffer affliction,

Jesus calls us not just to witness but to be witnesses in our words and deeds. Reach out with Christ and grow in God's love toward all persons.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy's role to be a strengthener and encourager so important? In what ways was this a sensitive role. How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment? How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

Ans. Timothy’s role as Christian is to be a support for his brothers and sister in the ministry regardless of maturity. Our lives are there to help strengthen others when they are weak in whatever the situation may be and to encourage them when things seems not to go accordingly. Paul realized that new converts especially would face difficult challenges, if they did not have anyone around to strengthen and encourage they may fall, and since he could not go, what better person to send but one of his students.

This role can be sensitive because he has to be a role model for these people and not allow any issues to affect his way of thinking in order to help strengthen them in the Lord. This assignment helped to build Timothy’s Character. Delegating helps because it gives responsibility to those with the assignement and keeps them accountable to God and ministry.

Q2. (2 Thessalonians 3:2-3) Why is Timothy’s role to be a strengthener and encourager so important?

The church in Thessalonica was in its infacny and Paul needed to send Timothy to shore up their faith. They'd heard that Paul had been in big trouble and that news may have caused them to waver in the faith. Timothy was sent to reassure them that they were in God's Will and in Paul's prayers.

In what ways was this a sensitive role.

Timothy had no idea of the reception he'd receive or how much faith the believers had. He had to use the softly softly approach when he arrived until he could ascertain the spiritual state of the congregation there. That required sensitivity and tact.

How did it help Timothy to be sent on this assignment?

Such a mission would have been good training for Timothy to prepare him for his eventual role as church pastor.

How does delegating ministry help the overall enterprise of the Kingdom?

If trusted people can be given tasks and be counted on to do them, it frees up the leadership for other areas of ministry.

Timothy a young person was trained under Paul. Now he is being sent on a mission to the thessolonians to the new believers to encourage them to live in the faith that has been preached to them. Timothy's role of being an encourager becomes very very necesaary for the new christians in thessolania to remain in Jesus and not fall back to their false religion. encouraging words from timothy becomes a great source of comfort for these new christians not to give up their faith in Christ instead stand firm for Christ and not yield to the opposition they have to face from the jews around them.

It's a very sensitive role and especially for timothy because he approached just new born christians. every word that he speaks to them has to come from the Spirit of God which will build them up further. Its sensitive role because these people have just turned away from serving idols and accepted Jesus as Lord and Timothy needs to be careful to build them up with all kindness and gentleness so that do not turn back.

Its becomes a training ground for timothy to take care of new christians and also it must have been a joy for timothy to be a blessing to paul and also the new christians and thus bring glory to the name of Jesus.

delegation of work in the ministry builds the body of Christ. when all work together according their gifts and abilities each one grows as an individual and thier talents and used to to the fullest extent, the work of the Lord does not become burdensome , there is accountability to each other and together greater things are acheived for the Kingdom of God.

Timothy's role was important because the believers in Thessolonica were being persecuted and they needed a strong leader to guide them and to help them maintain their faith throughout. In addition to this, as a body of new believers, it was important they they be properly led so that they can develop in their faith. It is certainly easy enough for mature believers to wander off the path, and even doubly so for new believers without the proper guidance from an experienced leader. Since Paul was not able to return to lead them, Timothy was a good choice to go in his stead. This was a sensitive role because it required the right amount of leadership to help the people keep the faith without bringing more trouble on them. Timothy had to find a way to strike a balance that would help the Church develop without causing more persecution. I believe that through this work, Timothy was able to grow in both his own faith, and his ability to lead. In helping the Church to grow, he was also growing himself.

Delegating ministry is important in two ways. First, by delegating responsibility to other members, the leader is freed from many of the day-to-day workings of the ministry, allowing him/her to have more time to grow the ministry. It also allows members of the group to realize and utilize special gifts that will help to make the group more functional, and it will make for a more solid group with help to individual members more accessible at any given time.

Timothy's role was important because the new believers were facing tough times from those persecuting them. They were babes in the faith, but growing in faith, needing encouragement to continue the race. Being encouranged and strengthened would increase their faith. As we know, we are not all at the same spiritual maturity so others can be instrumental assisting others to stand the test. It was a sensitive role because the task Timothy embarked on also built his strength in the gospel message. Delegating is somewhat difficult for some to do. But, one person can not do it all by themselves. Christ did not send just one but He sent many into the vineyard to evangelize the "Good News." We have to become comfortable and not worry about being sabotaged. Just do all things in Jesus' name and the work will be blessed.<p class="ipsLikeBar right clearfix" id="rep_post_80322">
