dparker777
Your witness can overcome satan. Satan and his followers. We have eternial life. Because of Christ spilled blood our sins are forgiven. We must love Christ first to be saved. if we put ourselves first we are not true belivers. linda bass
The one who is overcome is the devil-Satan. In a sense we have victory when we die because we will instantly be in heaven with Jesus. This is possible thru the blood of Jesus that was shed for our sins. By accepting Him as our Savior and Lord we receive forgiveness of our sins and victory over Satan thru the Holy Spirit. Loving our own lives means that Jesus takes second place. If we are concern with our own life it means we can't love Jesus that much. It is not enough to say we love the Lord-we need to back up what we confess with our actions. Liza
They overcame Satan by the blood (they had repented and their sins were washed away) and spoke their faith. They loved Him who loved them first more than their lives. When we love our lives, we compromise very often, to the point of compromising our faith, our life and even denying Christ. The church is called to stand in the face of persecution.
prophet
Q3. Revelation 12:11 could be considered a theme verse for the book. What does it mean? Who is overcome? In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? What does the "blood of the Lamb" have to do with this? How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) what does it mean ? well to me it says from the first start Gods adversary never wins Gods army won the fright in heaven an cast them out . who is overcome ?Gods adversary in what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? we have total victory over sin an death what does the blood have to do with this ? Jesus shed the blood to cover us an wash us clean with out the blood there is no vitory God always shed blood to cover sin an he dont change how does loveing this life stop us from spiritual victory? The Lord says we cant serve 2 masters an must who are true belvers can tell you they had to battle with 1 love or another had to lay something aside an finaly they will give up their control of their life an fall in love with Jesus because there is no other way but to out him 1st above all things an above all others then we will start to grow into the person he created us to be an will live to do his will just like Jesus said i must be about my fathers work grace is the only way let God jesus in you and they will shine praise the lord love u prophet
Helen
Satan is the accuser, &"our brethren" = John's brethren = us (disciples of Jesus). Humanity (or that part of it called "brethren") experience victorious, powerful, joyful living by entering into the new Covenant with God, that is ratified by the shedding of Jesus' Blood on the Cross. They will have their own personal story of victory and joy to share and they will not be shy to do this as their part of the Covenant. They would not go back to their old lives even in the face of death. Thus satan is overcome. If we die in the process we are victorious, as satan has not won us over to his death squad, and we have eternal Life in Jesus to celebrate! Since Adam's sin, blood has been spilt to "cover up". God killed a goat to clothe them. Adam's son Cain killed his brother Abel, and Abel's blood cried out to God from the grave (God knew about it and suffered most terribly). Most early societies understand the idea of blood sacrifice to appease a "higher power" - even though they get it horribly wrong! Blood covenants (or blood brotherhood) are also well understood. Blood is the life of man and satan is blood-thirsty. Jesus won His victory by allowing the spilling of His blood by man under the control of satan, and by rising above death to total, unassailable Life. This Life He gives to those who value it enough to overcome satanic interference in their own lives. We have to attach ourselves to His victory or "blood covering" (cf blood on the lintel in Exodus). That murdering, thieving father of lies did his worst to Jesus (with Jesus' complete cooperation - he even had to pick up the Roman soldiers who could not stand up when He responded "I Am"!) But satan failed entirely to contain Him! Our life is in Jesus. When we invite Jesus to be Lord, He gives us a brand new life. However, if we cling to the old one, or parts thereof, we defeat His purpose. We need to seek His ascendancy ("He must increase and I must decrease") wholeheartedly and absolutely. Debora
Q3. Revelation 12:11 could be considered a theme verse for the book. What does it mean? Who is overcome? In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? What does the "blood of the Lamb" have to do with this? How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) It means that we must be like Him, like Christ, as faithful and true, to give testimony and witness as He. And the ones who do, are the "overcomers" applied to the past, present, future. If we die in the process of following our Lord Jesus Christ the victory is Christ Jesus' and we are victorious then in Christ Jesus. Jesus shedding his blood on the cross, that is willingly going to death for us by laying down his life, purchases us for God. His blood is the atonement for sin. We are washed by the blood of the lamb as His followers when we accept Him and by His blood we are saved;"they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb" and him is Satan. By loving our lives we give partial commitment to Jesus in our life. We must give and surrender all areas of our lives to Jesus Christ so we may have spiritual victory. By loving our lives is like having one foot in the world and one foot in heaven. We cannot have a foot in both realms but must give total commitment, focus to God and His Kingdom and live of the world but not live in the world. To have spiritual victory we must die to self and let ourself decrease and Christ increase. As we live we must die, be dead and that is, so that we may know Him. It is so that we conform to His death by dying to self. We will be ready when he comes again as we learn to die to self. Or, we may give up our lives like martyrs in testimony or witness for Christ. (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) QUEST 3 . A. IT MEANS THAT SATAN IS NO LONGER OUR ACCUSER. HE HAS BEEN THROWN OUT OF HEAVEN AND THE PEOPLE WHO HAVE BEEN FAITHFUL ARE NOW SAFE. B. SATAN HAS BEEN OVERCOME. C.WE HAVE VICTORY OF ETERNAL LIFE IN THE PRESENCE OF GOD. D. WHEN WE BELIEVE AND CONFESS JESUS AS OUR LORD AND SAVIOR WE ARE COVERED BY THE BLOOD THAT JESUS SHED ON THE CROSS. HE WAS THE SACRIFICE THAT GOD REQUIRES TO HAVE OUR SINS TAKEN AWAY. OTHERWISE WITH OUR SINS WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO COME INTO THE PRESENCE OF GOD. E. JESUS SAYS THAT THOSE WHO LOVE THEIR LIFE WILL LOSE IT. AND THOSE WHO HATE THEIR LIFE WILL BE REWARDED WITH ETERNAL LIFE. THE REASON IS THAT THE CREATION BECOMES MORE IMPORTANT THAN THE CREATOR. WE PUT OUR POSSESIONS AHEAD OF GOD. WE THEN ARE WORSHIPPING IDOLS . GOD CAN'T ABIDE BY THAT.
Julie Ann
They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death. Revelation 12:11 This verse discribes our salvation and faithfullness. Satan was overcome. Our victory for dieing for Christ is that we stood our ground, we ran a good race. The blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, cleanses everything.

Skroehr
Q3. Revelation 12:11 could be considered a theme verse for the book. What does it mean? I look on the apocalypse as a "Revealing" of how we can be one with the Father through communion with Jesus Christ, as it is during that communion which he himself precribed that we are one with the holy spirit. It is at that perfect moment that God/Man/the church/the holy spirit/ the mother and the saints are all one in the remembrance of Jesus as he taught. Through the rite of the holy eucharist and coming into communion with the lord, we are literally in heaven. But we must first let go of attachment to this life. We should be concerned wth becoming one with God. It is then that we are in heaven, and the matters of the world are no longer of importance. Who is overcome? Satan and his powers are only of the earth, and only given power by man in a state of weakness brought on by attachment to the temporal world. If you remember God through the new covenant and take the blood of the Lamb of God which was shed to cleanse the whole of man, then there is no power in the worldly works of satan. In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? It is only a physical death. The victory is in the attainment of everlasting and perfect life through Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour is was the perfect sacrificial Lamb of God, obviating all other sacrafice, and all other earthly concerns and practices. What does the "blood of the Lamb" have to do with this? How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) To love your life here on earth is to show weakness in your faith in the perfect life that is yours in heaven. The earth is the realm of forces of evil and is filled with temptations and darkness. The eternal life with our father is perfect.
Katzen
Satan is defeated and we have the victory, as long as we remain faithful and maintain our testimony for Jesus. Barbara1
The theme is the destruction of satin. The blood of Jesus is our salvation. Without the sacrfice he and the Father made we could not overcome the evil satin brings us. We have victory if we die because we hold fast to the word and know that Jesus is Lord and savior. The Blood of the Lamb is cleansing, power and protection against evil. Loving ourselves means we reject what God and Jesus did for us. By doing this we alonely lead ourselves to distruction. chenista
Q3. Revelation 12:11 could be considered a theme verse for the book. What does it mean? Who is overcome? In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? What does the "blood of the Lamb" have to do with this? How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) Satan was overcome at the cross. Many "Christians" do not realize that the victory has already been won and the reason the struggles and satan prevails today is because we focus on those struggles rather than giving the glory to the Lord and walking in spirit. When we travail over world systems, physical realities, strife, etc., we lose focus on the Lord and His work. We do not trust Him and think we have to do things ourselves. This is flesh - this is the enemy because it takes us outside of relationship and spirit. Satan was overcome by the blood of the lamb - when we walk in the world systems, we cannot have victory because we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with principalities in high places. When we wrestle with flesh and blood, we are not focusing on the true enemy which is the principality in high places - satan and his fallen angels. (See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) This verse continues the theme of explaining how Satan was overcome and thrown down from heaven. In death we have victory. We will have eternal life. The blood of the lamb, the death and suffering of our Lord Jesus on the cross gave the brethren the ability to conquer Satan. Christ is Lord. Rather than love our lives we must love the Lord and through Jesus let the Holy Spirit live within us. We will then have victory against Satan who's time is rapidly running out. Revelation 12:11 They overcame Satan by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony and loved not their lives unto death. We free ourselves from Satan's power by the blood of the Lamb. If we should die in the process, the victory is in overcoming this world that Satan has stolen from man through Adam's sin. We are to love Jesus more than parents, family or friends. Rev 12:11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death. This means that victory was won by the Blood of the Lamb. Who is overcome? Satan is the one that is overcome. Satan and all his followers will lose this battle between good and evil. In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? What does the "blood of the Lamb" have to do with this? The blood of the Lamb represents the blood that Christ gave to save us from sin. The price that was paid to redeem us. How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? Mat 5:10 Blessed are those who have been persecuted for righteousness' sake, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven. Craig
This sign represents the whole family of Israel out of which Jesus Christ is born. This vision represents the dominion of the Church, with Jesus Christ at its Head over all things. Godly men and women of all ages will overcome satan and this world system in and through Jesus Christ. Even if the saint dies in the process of standing against satan in the name of Jesus Christ, he/she will have overcome satan and gained victory in not allowing him to dominate them. All saints claim forgiveness of sin and victory over satan in the life giving blood of the lamb -- Jesus Christ. If the saint is not willing to give everything he/she has, including their life, there is no spiritual victory; only selfishness.

(See Luke 14:25-27; Matthew 10:37-39.) Put simply it means we win! We overcome satan by the blood of the Lamb. Without the shed blood of Jesus Christ being applied to our lives we loose, but with that precious blood we win! The blood is everything! It is the blood of the lamb that this whole thing is all about. Jesus shed His blood for us so that we could have eternal life and satan is mad. We over come by the blood of the lamb and the word of our testimony. So often we keep our mouths shut when we should be proclaiming the glorious works of God. If we love our lives too much we will give in to temptations and we will not stand strong against the devil and his attacks. We will cower down and allow satan the upper hand. Too often we are concerned about what others will think or how it will affect our lives. We will lack boldness.
JustJeff
The theme of Revelation is the final victory over Satan, started at Calvary by the shed blood of the Lamb and applied in battle by His disciples. Satan is overcome by His blood and the testimony of the Lord's saints who willing give their lives to remain steadfast and become martyrs rather than lose that testimony. It is in our bodily death that we will ever be with the Lord and it is by our death to sin and to those in sin around us that we can qualify to be with Him through our bodily death. Consequently, if we fail to give up the world and the things that are in the world we will remain in sin.

Linda Spilman
Q.3 Defeat of Satan! The saints/martyrs overcame Satan by the blood of the Lamb and the testimony by the word. We have victory if we remain faithful. No matter what kind of death we experience even a martyr's death Christ's blood assures us of a resurrected life. Loving our life more than we love Christ prevents us from dying to ourselves (bear his cross) and following Him (come after me).
mags
What does it mean? God has won - the faithful have concurred. Satan has been defeated. Who is overcome? Satan - the great deceiver In what sense do we have victory if we die in the process? We have the victory in Jesus Christ - the victory is life with Him at the throne - we have victory in knowing we are His. What does the 'blood of the Lamb' have to do with this? It is only by the blood of the Lamb that we are saved - Jesus' blood on the cross has given us victory How does loving our lives prevent spiritual victory today? If we love our life more than we love Christ then we aren't listening to and following Him. We can still love and enjoy our lives but not to the exclusion of Christ and His plan for us - we still need to be prepared to say "Yes Lord" to what He asks us to do.
