royk
Q4. (13:1-18, optional) The two beasts belong to the period of the ascendancy of the Antichrist at the very end of the Last Days. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet? It is not obvious to me what deception the evil one will use in the end times; to prepare against this, one must ask God to remove all false values and habits from us, even if they shake our 'foundation' So we must be on our guard more than ever, so for me the song: "Hear us from Heaven" becomes more and more important; we need God's Holy Spirit to open the blind eyes and unlock the deaf ears, we are crying out in desperation for this lost world of modern American convenience. Heaven Help Us ---> Hear us from Heaven, Hear us from Heaven, Hear us from Heaven, .... we are crying out in Desperation!
Commissioned
Q4. (13:1-18, optional) The two beasts belong to the period of the ascendancy of the Antichrist at the very end of the Last Days. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet? The two beasts who will be revealed are given power to do so release lawlessness on the earth because the restrainer, the Holy Spirit, is taken out of the way. The lawless one, the Antichrist, will rise up out of the nations and will be worshipped as a god. He will be given power by Satan, his throne and great authority. The Antichrist blasphemes the true God and present himself as god in the temple. Both Satan and the Antichrist are worshipped. The antichrist will make war against the saints and overcome them. He shall have authority in every nation. The false prophet exercises the same authority as the antichrist, he demonstrates great signs and will point people toward worshipping the antichrist. Eventually, the Antichrist will be consumed by the Lord with the breath of His mouth and destroyed by the brightness of His coming (2 Thess2:8). the prophet
Q4. (13:1-18, optional) The two beasts belong to the period of the ascendancy of the Antichrist at the very end of the Last Days. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet? Leon Morris points out how the Roman Empire was an early manifestation or preview of the type of evil the "beast" would be associated with. Today, also, certain people in high places are being used by satan to sort of prepare the way, soften the landscape--for the Beast who will, finally, be released one day. First there will be deception through performing of amazing feats. Then people will embrace this tool of the devil which will, ultimately lead to their fall. When the tribulation begins, despite terrible punishments even from God's avenging angels, people still will not turn from their evil ways. The deception they swallowed at an earlier time will be so complete that they will be blinded and will blindly embrace pain, destruction of all around them, and even their own destruction. The different features of the beast that resemble ferocious animals are said to symbolize the power and threat to all unbelievers that he will pose. "Seven heads and ten horns" suggest, for Morris, a connection to the Beast in Daniel in that it may represent different nations and peoples around the world who will be sucked into the enemy's sphere of influence, thus becoming tools of his particular type of wickedness. In the movie "Left Behind" the Antichrist turns out to be the recently appointed Secretary General of the United Nations who launches his evil from behind the smokescreen of his ironic appointment to an organization sworn to promote peace around the world. That's the kind of deception that is the most insidious, taking advantage of peoples' hope and aspiration for something noble. All the more reason for us to put our hope in Christ alone, not in any institution or single person or man-made office. In Daniel, Nebuchadnezzar put all his hope and trust in himself and even was convinced to command people to worship him. God offered a blessing of getting a vision, through Daniel, of how powerful and far-reaching was, in fact, his earthly rule. Yet eventually, his pride in self led to the curse from God of insanity where he lived like a beast for several years until he finally humbled himself and was cured. He fell again and was finally allowed to be killed by God. The Bible tells us to "test the spirits." In following this command, we can develop and be annointed with a spirit of discernment, a gift from the Spirit for all who worship the Spirit in truth, in faith, and in love. I pray for that gift for all God's people.
hanks
Q4. (13:1-18, optional) The two beasts belong to the period of the ascendancy of the Antichrist at the very end of the Last Days. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet. My understanding of these verses is that in the very last days there will be the first beast (Antichrist, the man of lawlessness) actually being worshipped as God. Also being worshipped will be the dragon (Satan). Both will rule over the world and will make war with believers and unfortunately many will be overcome. Most however, will rather die than submit. The second beast (false prophet) is another prominent figure who works in close cooperation with the first beast. He will impersonate the Lamb of God and even perform many miracles, deceiving many to worship him. The penalty for refusing to worship is death. All means will be used to force believers to forsake Christ
l.a.
Q4. (13:1-18, optional) The two beasts belong to the period of the ascendancy of the Antichrist at the very end of the Last Days. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet? The ant-christ will lead many astray, more than likely, using promises of peace and world unification. He will use the false prophet to help extinguish 'religion' and strongly persecute the church. Those who endure to the end will be saved.
PASTOR D
Q4. Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet? The Antichrist and the False Prophets are puppets or vessels used by Satan in an attempt to overcome Christ. According to these passages of Scripture it appears that they have "great power" to perform wonders and miracles. They have great power - but Jesus has "ALL POWER" and therefore cannot be defeated or overcome by anyone or anything - which bring about the destruction of these two beast and Satan as well. The end result is that Jesus is victorious and the Saints come into possession of the life of eternal bliss promised by God.
Ramon
Answer: Anti Christ, are everywhere. They are in our midst, even present in our Church today.(Mark 1:23 And there was in their synagogue a man with an unclean spirit; and he cried out). Jesus warns His disciple, for the emerging of this so called False prophets.( Matt. 24:24- For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect., Mark 13:22 -For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect. In this warning, even the chosen one(elect)will be deceived if they are not alert. They will perform all signs and wonders claiming to be the Messiah,to try to bring into doubt the mind of Beleivers that Jesus is not the Christ. 2 Thessalonians 2:2- That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.—In this verse Paul exhorts the believers in Thessolonica, not to be shaken or worried,to think that the Day of the Lord has not yet come,or not yet born. He further explained in verse 3 and 4,that this Anti Christ will deceive them, and by signs and Wonders will claim to be the Messiah. The apostle Paul was confronting the confusion that surrounded the second coming of Christ. Many thought that The Day of the Lord (Great Tribulation) had already commenced and that they missed the rapture of the Church, assuming that the anti-Christ was revealed. This confusion led many believers to neglect their personal responsibilities in life, resulting in unrest and irrational behavior amongst God's people (2 Thess. 3:11) The Antichrist will be the world's political dictator of the last days. The Scripture declares ...and power was given him over all kindred, and tongues, and nations... Rev. 13:7. The Antichrist will be a man whom Satan will fill to such an extent that he will be Satan incarnate. This is why Paul calls him the man of sin and the son of perdition. 2 Thess. 2:3 Yet, Paul makes it very clear that the Anti-Christ will be restrained until the Holy Spirit and the Church are removed Our only sufficiency necessary to expose false prophets and their teachings is the Word of God under the direct influence of the Holy Spirit. And this is why the Anti-Christ hides in darkness. He cannot, even with all of Satan's potential overcome the body of Christ (Matthew 16:18; James 4:7; 1 John 4:4)... thus, he is restrained from exacting his hellish ministry until after the Church is gone.-- Dr. Arthur Belanger Anti Christ are people who does not believe that Jesus is the Messiah, and does not believe in the finished work of Jesus in the Cross, and His ascension into heaven. They will bring False doctrines even based on some Biblical truth, but will deny that Jesus is Christ; 2 Peter 2:1 -But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction. They are everywhere now,any Religious doctrines or teachings that says there are many ways to heaven, through intercessory mediation from any other saints, that salvation can be earned through penance and self righteousness,.. is ANTI CHRIST. Lion of Grace
WOW! Much to see and learn here! The Beast of the sea described in Rev. 13 is referred to in 1 John and 2 John as the antichrist and in 2 Thessalonians as the man of lawlessness. The dragon,(satan)is identified as the one giving power to the beast. We see satan giving his power and authority to this figure. The beast is given a mouth to utter words and blasphemies for 42 months. He will blaspheme God and slander His name and His dwelling place and all those that live in Heaven. He will even say he IS God! He is given power to make war on the saints and to conquer them. He is given the right to persecute them and to kill them. He is given authority over every tribe, people, language and nation. Thus, being referred to as "out of the sea" is a symbolism of being authoritative over all nations. The whole world will be astonished at the Beast and his power and wonders and will ask, "Who is like the Beast? Who can make war against him?" All the inhabitants of the earth will worship the beast...but these are the people belonging to the world. All those who names have NOT been written in the book of life. Those who do NOT belong to the Lamb that was slain from the creation of the world. They will perish and be deceived because they refuse to love the truth and so be saved. God himself, will send powerful delusions so they will believe the lies and they will be condemned because they did not love truth but delighted in wickedness. Those who ARE saved and who's names ARE written in the book of the Lamb, are to be patiently enduring through this time. Whatever our fate will be our fate and we are to accept that, but we are to be faithful and patient, standing firm, knowing even if we are killed we will not be defeated. Our God has overcome! We are to thank God because we were chosen to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Holy Spirit and through our belief in the truth. We know this through the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We are to hold on to this teaching passed on to us. This man of lawlessness is doomed. Christ Jesus will overthrow him with the breath of His mouth and will destroy him by the splendor of His coming. We, who are saved, will be victorious. Those who refuse the truth of Christ will perish eternally. We though, will live eternally. The false prophet,is called "the beast out of the Earth." He had two horns like a lamb, but spoke like a dragon. Interesting symbolism. He will exercise all the authority of the first beast "on his behalf". He will make all the inhabitants of the Earth, worship the first beast, who has set himself up to be God. He will display great and miraculous signs and wonders in full view of men. Because of these signs,(that he was given the power to do on behalf of the first beast) he will deceive the inhabitants of the Earth. He will order an image be set up to honor the beast. He will be given power to give breath to the image so it can speak and cause all who refuse to worship the image to be killed. All this power is from an evil source. Satan. He will force people, rich and poor, slave and free, to take the mark of the beast on their right hand or forehead to buy or sell anything. Those who refuse to take his mark, will suffer terribly with no economic means to survive. The mark received will be the number of the beast. 666. The exact meaning of the number is unknown, but likely symbolizes ultimate wickedness or even an unholy trinity of evil. All in all, everyone today has a choice to believe on the Lord Jesus and be saved and changed through the power of the Holy Spirit or to reject Christ and follow lies, choosing condemnation over eternal life. In the end, those belonging to the Lamb, washed in His blood, will be victorious and live. Those who are not, will perish and be thrown into the fire with the one who deceived them. We MUST know the truth of the Word. We MUST walk in communion with God every day! We MUST be prepared and we MUST be watchful every day. Satan will go to great lengths to deceive. Even through false miracles that may seem "religious." The Holy Spirit will keep us....but we MUST be sealed by Him, through our salvation, because of Jesus Christ. No other way! dlite80
The Anti Christ and False Prophet get their power from satan, they join forces to replicate the Holy Trinity but fall far from it. However, God allows them to wreak havoc in the world for a limited time only! They may seem powerful: eradicating their enemies, performing many signs and wonders, centering worship around the Beast, even deceiving the nations but their powers are limited and constrained by God. The One who restrains them is still at work in the world drawing the lost into the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. And once He is removed, these agents of satan will have their way with the unrighteous and perishing for they are the only ones who will believe the lies of deception (even the most elect will be deceived)!!! I heard learned that the antichrist will try to fool a lot of God people he will even go in the temple We as people of God have to have the word of God with us all the time. We have to know within our hearts that we will known that he is the antichrist and not God there will be signs.
van
The Antichrist is the breast that came out of the sea. Apostle Paul called him, the man of sin, the lawless one, the son of perdition. He is also the prince that will come in the future. Eventually the beast will make war with the Lamb. The beast is the world leader who is symbolize by the leopard, the bear, the lion, the dragon. All of the Gentile empires were symbolize by those animals. The Antichrist will be all those kingdoms rolled in one as he rise to power. The False Prophet is the beast that came out of the earth. He looks religious but talk like the devil, and he caused the whole world to worship the first beast, the Antichrist, as if he was God. tgandy
I believe the general meaning is this, Satan is thrown out of heaven, and he knows his time is short. He is determined to do as much damage as he can. He delegates power to two beasts. v. 3 there is one of the seven heads which has been mortally wounded and estored to life. This head is the supreme evil.  The first beast comes from the sea, the second beast from the earth. The one from the earth is the false prophet. His pupose is to deceive. We must hold fast that any teaching contrary to God's Word is false. The beast will tempt, but the strong in Christ will prevail.

Together with 2 Thessalonians 2:1-12, summarize what have you learned about the Antichrist and the False Prophet?  The Antichrist is lawless, arrogant, and in total rebellion against God. He will be a tool of Satan to deceive humanity into worshipping him vice God. He will display all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs, and wonders. He will be the ultimate deceiver.  The Antichrist will oppose and exalt himself above all religion (true or false), because he desires to be worshipped. Ultimately he proclaims himself God in the temple. Again, the Scriptures teach that Satan has always desired to be above God and to be worshipped as God.  For a time he will have ultimate military, civil, economic, and religious control of the world,  The False Prophet will promote and support the Antichrist in deceiving the world into false worship and rebellion against God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.  Jesus Christ will destroy both of in the Lake of fire.
JoanG
The antichrist will only come when he is let loose on the world. He is the ultimate in civil unrest. He will cause chaos on all forms of religion. He will have a helper in the false prophet. This person will help start a state type of religion. There will be miracles performed to try to convince people that they are the real thing. They will start a world wide marshal law society. They will persecute all who speak against them. Paulhoward
this is a helpful analysis of difference between beast & false prophet & how they work together. Obviously in Roman times the "guilds" we're a big issue in terms of trade & getting on, that if you went to their meetings you had to join in with the worship of their gods or the emperor!!! Today as we see that the beast are governments, ones which are atheistic or Muslim may penalise you financially if you are a Christian & is part of the cost. it may begin to operate in Western nations today over issues such as "gay" marriage!!! This can be an issue for teachers, clergy etc in the future, we'll have to see what developed!!!
Old Jerry
The Antichrist will be very powerful. He will be able to deceive those who do not believe in Jesus Christ. They will make it impossible to buy and sell food and other goods if you don’t have their mark on them. This is telling me that the end times are really going to be bad for those that are left on the earth during this time.
