parkerslope
Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? The Gospel is the "good news" about Jesus and what He did. Jesus paid for all sin! From Adam and Eve until the last person sins, everyone's sin was paid in full on the CROSS. We just have to accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior to be forgiven. On what basis can a person be forgiven? Faith in Jesus as the Son of God, confessing our sin and repenting, turning our life around to follow the teachings of the Bible. On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? By accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior, we automatically repent, confessing our sins - and He is faithful and just to forgive us our sin. I believe that Jesus' blood washes away our sin. pickledilly
The Gospel is the ultimate good news for those who have been involved in gross sin because it is the only way God has made it possible for fallen humanity to be redeemed and fully cleansed from it. Jesus came to earth as a human man to conquer the grip of sin through His death and to rescue us through His resurrection from the wrath and judgment that are the rightful consequences of our rebellion against God. When we believe that with all our heart, acknowledge our sins to God with a contrite spirit, and accept Him by faith as the one-and-only Savior, the Holy Spirit comes in to wash our hearts clean and cover the record of our sins with Christ's blood. He takes up residence within us, makes us uniquely consecrated to the LORD, and sets us on a new path toward glory rather than destruction. The only basis for receiving forgiveness from sin is repentance with faith in the name of Jesus Christ as the One who secured that forgiveness of the Father for us. The only basis for cleansing from sin is the blood of Christ applied to your heart and your record in heaven, along with the subsequent work of the Holy Spirit to implement the process of sanctification – setting you apart to the holy life and character of Jesus. It’s all the work of God and there’s nothing we can do to make that any of that happen except release ourselves to faith. Hallelujah, indeed! Sank T Monius
1 Corinthians 6:11 Q). Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? A). The gospel is good news to those who have been involved in gross sin because Jesus died for all our sins -- those committed before we put our trust in him, and those committed after we received him # Q). On what basis can a person be forgiven? A). A person can be forgiven when the person repents and calls on the Lord. # Q). On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? A). A person can be cleansed from sin on the basis of being baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins. In 1 Corinthians 6:11 Paul is saying: You have been baptized, signifying the washing away of your sins. . "And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:11) . "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost." hanks
Q3. (1 Corinthians 6:11) Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? On what basis can a person be forgiven? On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? Those involved in gross sin only have to truly repent and accept our Lord Jesus Christ as their Saviour and all their sins will be forgiven. That is past, present, and future sins. What good news! No power on earth can produce such a transformation. We know that the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord (Romans 6:23). We have been washed from our sin and impurity through the precious blood of Christ. We have been born again, we are now new creatures, the old has gone, and the new has come! (2 Cor 5:17). This because in His mercy God reached down and touched us. At the same time we are being cleansed through the Word of God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit we are sanctified, becoming more and more like Jesus, and being set apart to God from the world. Finally we have been justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of God; that is, they had been reckoned righteous before God on the basis of the work of the Lord Jesus on the Cross. charisbarak
Jesus died for all sin. It's good news to know we have not sinned too much or had gross sins which could not be covered, Jesus paid it all!! A person can be forgiven if they admit that they're a sinner, name the sins if possible, accept that Jesus died on the cross for those sins and rose again, defeating death. And repent--turn from those sins. We are then cleansed. As believers, we can come to God, confessing any sin and ask forgiveness and repent & He will be faithful to forgive & cleanse you. Lion of Grace
The good news of the Gospel for a gross sinner is that no matter how far we have fallen into terrible sin, there is One who took those sins upon Himself and paid the price we deserved for them. We are now free and clear and will no longer die for those sins because a ransom was paid for us! There is no sin too great that the blood of Jesus did not cover! Good news indeed for those (like me) who thought there would be no hope ever because of how far I had fallen and as if that wasn't enough to receive hope back.....the abundance of being included as a daughter of God, Bride of Christ is just beyond anything I could have asked for or imagined! I am deeply grateful. A person can be forgiven when they believe in Jesus and accept salvation through Him. A person is cleansed from sin when we repent, turn from our sins and ask the Holy Spirit to sanctify us. Our righteousness is in Christ alone, but our sanctification is a process that takes our whole lifetime and God who is faithful will do it! On what basis can a person be forgiven? On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? The gospel is such good news to those who are in gross sin because it brings conviction to the mind and soul by the Holy Spirit. Hearing the good news and understanding and believing the saving work of the Lord Jesus Christ and the salvation he has provided for their sins. Because of this salvation and by their faith they feel washed and cleansed from their sins, starting a new life in Christ.
WinstonY
Q3. (1 Corinthians 6:11) Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? On what basis can a person be forgiven? On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? Question 6.3 According to Aquinos we humans are created so that we can only fill our nature when we seek and serve God. (P,.57) But because of our God given ability of free choice we have the ability not to fulfill this natural essence of searching for God. We decide not to serve and seek God. The glory of the Gospel views than breaks through upon us and than with the help of the Hold Spirit. We are able to become free of sin, we are wrapped in a cloak of righteousness and we go forth to live in the House of the Lord forever. One can only be cleansed and forgiven through the grace of God and through the glory of Jesus Christ. As Paul told the jailor in Acts 16.31 - We must believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and we will be saved.
JanMary
Q3. (1 Corinthians 6:11) Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? The amazing gift is that when we are born again, and Justified, God sees is in Christ..."Just as if I'd never sinned"....He remembers them no more! On what basis can a person be forgiven? Admitting one is a sinner, and asking to be forgiven in Jesus' Name. On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? When one has admitted he/she is a sinner and repents, having turned one's life over to the Lordship of Christ....(born again), one is cleansed by His blood and redeemed by His work on the cross. He died once for all.....all people, all sin.

On what basis can a person be forgiven? On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? The Lord God through Jesus Christ died for our sin. When we confess our sin, we are forgiven and made anew irrespective of how bad we have been. Praise the Lord. A person can be forgiven by confessing and repenting of such sin to the Lord. A person is cleansed by the power of the blood of our Lord Jesus and power of the Holy Spirit who indwells us at conversion.
Craig
The gospel is good news to all lost sinners of any kind because the gospel frees us from sin and the guilt that comes from it. All of humanity is terribly lost and needs something or someone other than ourselves to save us, redeem us, and renew us. We are a creation that lost its way in its rebellion against God and its belief in the core values of Lucifer -- look at the world. As John write 1 John 1:9 God is faithful to forgive our sins and cleanse us of our sins if we acknowledge and confess those sins. The basis is well put in Hebrews 10:10: "For God's will was for us to be made holy by the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ, once for all time." (NLT). Old Jerry
The reason that the gospel is such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin is that we know that Jesus will forgive us those sins. dixonle
Q3. (1 Corinthians 6:11) Why is the gospel such good news to those who have been involved in gross sin? On what basis can a person be forgiven? On what basis can a person be cleansed from sin? According to matchless word of God written by Paul, it is understood that continual participation in unrepentant gross sin as has been defined in these chapters will result in non-entry into heaven as there would be no salvation...period...end of the story. A person can be forgiven simply by truly being repentant and confession of the sins and receiving the forgiveness of the LORD Jesus Christ. This is the only way as then and only then will the LORD through His grace and mercy through his redemptive shedding of His blood wash and cleanse us of all unrighteousness within us. Through these acts on the person's part and the LORD's actions, the old person will be out off and ther new one will take its place, a new person created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. JoanG
The bible is the gateway to the salvation of all mankind. The gospel teaches people that once they accept Jesus as the son of God their sins are forgiven. They must pray to God and ask for forgiveness of their past and start to live anew in the grace of God. They just need to repent. They need to ask God for all kinds of help. They need to be able to show remorse for all they had done. And then they need to be able to forgive themselves and allow the grace of God to fill them with a new purpose. Krissi
We're all sinners, "gross" or not. "Lesser" sins are just as disgusting to God as the "gross" ones, though the impact of horrible sins in our lives can be greater and the road to sanctification longer. I remember talking to a woman who said that she had a difficult time thinking of sins to confess, that in her daily life, she didn't think she sinned. I was flabbergasted. Perhaps I'm a bad or guilt-ridden person, but during the day -- any day -- my thoughts are not pure or holy and therefore I have sinned. I never reach the point of sinlessness. There's always something to confess. So the gospel is very good news for me, a continual sinner. I am grateful that God forgives me and need that fresh start. As a child, I used to enjoy cleaning the boards at the front of the classroom on which my teacher had written. The next day, those boards would be scribbled on again, but the point is that there was a daily purification, an clean slate. That's a metaphor: When we confess, Jesus cleans that off our boards so that, at the beginning of a new day, we start fresh and don't have to deal with the mess made the prior day. Sin tends to be additive. It we don't confess, it mounds up and overwhelms, defining us and not permitting a means of escape. The more I mature in Him, the more important it seems to immediately confess and "clear the air." Delayed confession is not good. So Jesus' sacrifice on the cross has done two things -- it was a one-time saving experience that made it possible for the daily cleansing of sins subsequently committed. The continual cleansing by the Spirit keeps me close to God and makes this cycle of sinning and forgiveness possible.
