In what sense is Jesus in himself God’s Truth? What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? As we follow Jesus and are obedient to what He teaches us, then He will lead us all the way to the Father's presence. Jesus is the Word, the Logos, the exact Expression of God himself, the one who speaks the Words of God i.e. the Truth. Jesus brings eternal life. He is the very source of life both physical life as Co-Creator, but eternal life as well. Jesus is the Way, the Truth and the Life - no one can go to the Father unless they follow Jesus and allow Jesus to lead them to the Father. Because when we believe in Jesus, we also believe in the one who sent Him i.e. God the Father.
JanMary
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? In the sense that there is only one way to God, and Jesus alone is the Way. He became the Lamb of God who laid down His sinless life to die on the cross in sacrifice for the sins of the entire world, and only by receiving His life and gift unto ourselves, can we be saved...and to belong to God forever. What does it mean to “follow Jesus”? It means to be in intimate relationship with Jesus through having received Him as personal Lord and Savior....(indwelt by His Holy Spirit), and allowing Him to lead and guide us through life according to His will and purposes rather than our own. It means to enter into a love relationship with Him characterized by joyful worship and adoration knowing we are forgiven, unconditionally loved and accepted by the Creator of all that exists. In what sense is Jesus in himself God’s Truth? Jesus Is God....the second Person of the Triune Godhead. He is Truth! He is the revelation of Truth ...the Word of God. What are the implications of this for us and our world? For any who believe that truth is relative, they are lost. Unless one understands, and believes and receives Jesus /Truth, they will die in their sins and be eternally in hell, separated from God for having made their choice to deny that He alone is the Way, the Truth and the Life. In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? Jesus is God, who came to earth as a baby, and grew up fully God and fully man....to reveal the Father to the world....He is the only source of eternal life, and abundant life on earth for His own. How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? When we speak about Him to others, we're speaking life and truth, and being privileged to lead others to eternal life, and the source of our joy! What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? No way, no church, no current theory can bring you to God. Only the way provided for us by Jesus finished work on the cross. It is our highway to Heaven. To follow Jesus means to take the narrow road, to stay close to Him, through His Word, prayer and focusing our thoughts, our hearts our minds on Him., He is the Truth. Without Him the world has only lies made up by the world system. Through Jesus we know the truth and the truth has set us free from slavery to the lies of the world. Jesus is God and God is life and life eternal. Those who go the way of the cross have eternal life, abundant life. We have a joy, a hope that the world does not have. We also have a responsibility to live that life as Jesus did and to tell others that there is one who is The Way, The Truth, and The Life and His name is Jesus. God Bless! Gerbrand van Schalkwyk
In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? Jesus died for our sins, as ling as we are full of sin we are still dead - in darkness. Because of Jesus our sins are forgiven and we receive mercy. Because of Jesus we know the way to the Kingdom of God and eternal life. The only way to God the Father is through Christ because He paid the price. receive the Holy Spirit, also known as the Spirit of Christ, Who gives us life, because we went into His grave to be born again. What does it mean to “follow Jesus”? Follow His teaching and examples. Following His commandments Following the guidance of the Holy Spirit. In what sense is Jesus in himself God’s Truth? John 1 tells us clearly Jesus is the Word of God. God's Word is true. Therefore Jesus is true All Jesus' teachings are from God the Father, God is fully righteous, therefore all His teaching is true as well. All Jesus' actions are in obedience to God the Father, thus His actions are true as well. What are the implications of this for us and our world? We know the way to eternal life. We know where to receive truth. We know how to be saved from ourselves. In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? The Holy Spirit is life and is the Spirit of Christ. How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? We have to speak as we are guided by the Holy Spirit. RebeccaMallinson
Jesus is the Way to God because we are told that to have everlasting life we must ‘follow’ him. He is God’s Truth because he is the Word (spoken by God) made flesh. The Word that created the world cannot be a lie. The implications of this for us are extremely important. It is absolutely necessary to us to follow him as it is the only true way. Most of the world is following the other broad path which leads to destruction. Jesus is God’s Life in the sense that he is indivisibly part of God. I struggled with the concept of God the Father and Son’s total unity for many years, but somehow I got there. It doesn’t particularly affect the way I speak about Jesus to others.
hanks
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? What does it mean to "follow Jesus"? In what sense is Jesus in Himself God's Truth? What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God's Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about Him? Jesus Himself is the way to heaven. It is our faith in Him that breaks the barrier of sin and death, and opens the way (the road) for us to spend eternity in the kingdom of God. Jesus Himself mentions “the road that leads to life” in Matthew 7:14: “But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it”. He does not merely show us the way - He is the way. Our Lord Jesus is not just one of many ways as the world will have us believe, stating that all religions have some good in them and they are the way to heaven. He is the only Way - no one comes to the Father except through Jesus Christ. To serve and follow Jesus means making a drastic change in our life of sin and being completely obedient to His commandments. For Jesus said: "If you love me, you will obey what I command” (John 14:15). We try to live a life that brings glory to Him. It helps also if we acknowledge Him in everything we do, remembering that it is not about us, but all about Him. God’s Words are the ultimate standard of truth (John 17:17) – here Jesus told us that God’s Word is not simply “true”, but it is truth itself. We also know that the Father and Jesus are one (17:22). We read in John 1:1: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” This confirms that our Lord Jesus in Himself is God’s Truth. He is not just One who teaches the truth - He is THE TRUTH. Those who have Christ have the Truth. We are exposed to so many lies in this world. Lies that Satan wants us to believe. So, if we are not careful we will be led astray. Jesus told us that every true believer will know the truth and it is this truth that shall set us free. Unlike the world we have been delivered from sin, and being led by the Holy Spirit, we walk in the light. Christ Jesus is the life. He is the source of life, both spiritual and eternal. Those who receive Him have eternal life because He is the Life.
Clarence
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? What does it mean to "follow Jesus"? In what sense is Jesus in himself God's Truth? What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God's Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? The notes state that Jesus declared that he is the way to the fathers presence-the way to heaven (14:6). Jesus said that he is 'the gate' for his sheep to enter (10:9)- he also said that 'the gate' is narrow that leads to life (or God) and 'the way' is difficult, in contrast to the wide gate and broad way that leads to destruction (Matthew 7:13, 14). Following 'the way' is following Jesus (Acts 22:4 and Hebrews 10:19-20). Jesus is the word of God (1:1). He is God and he is the way to God and he is the way to the truth (14:16). This revelation contained in the bible must affect our life and our being and therefore reflected in what we say and do (John 14:15). “Throw yourselves into the work of the Master, confident that nothing you do for him is a waste of time or effort” (1 Corinthians 15:58 [The Message]). PeteD
Lesson 24 Question 2 Jesus is the way to God - - no one comes to the Father but by him. Jesus said no one else has seen the Father. So, he is the only one who knows the way to God. Jesus also said in John 14: 9, 10 That anyone who has seen me has seen the Father... I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Jesus is indeed the highway or path to God. Through Jesus we have access to God. To follow Jesus is to be his disciple -- to learn from him, to emulate him -- but when the going gets tough, to cry out for help. Jesus asks us to love one another as he loved us. Jesus in himself is God's truth. He is the authentic, real expression of God -- the Logos -- word, hence he is the word. The implication of this is that the lies of the devil and of this world are confronted and destroyed by the deliverer, Jesus. Jesus is God's life: Jesus is the co-Creator with the Father of physical life. Jesus Christ is the one through whom God gives eternal life -- John 3: 16. Jesus is the living water in the bread of life that gives us eternal life.
lighthouse2014
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? What does it mean to “follow Jesus”? In what sense is Jesus in himself God’s Truth? What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? Jesus is the way to God because he said he is the way, the truth and life. The proof that Jesus is the way to God because at his baptism God spoke from Heaven stating "this is my son, in whom I'm well pleased". Plus after his crucifixion on the on the cross, he rose from the dead on the third day. To follow Jesus means we are to love him, abide in him and follow his teachings, this will make us his disciples. Jesus came to earth to preach the word of God and his truth. As he stated "all who have seen me have seen the Father". For the things he did and preached were only what the Father commanded him to do. In today's world we are to love one another as Christ loved us, to love our neighbors as ourselves. We are to spread the good news of the Kingdom of God, to make disciples of others. Jesus came to teach the truth of God, this truth will set us free from the sinful world. Jesus came to reveal to us Gods truth, Gods word. Jesus was that word as he stated, that by the word and the works he did as proof that he was sent by God the Father. In this day and time, as we believers know that Jesus was not only sent from God, but was God in the human form. We are to go into all the world and preach the good news, bring to the Lord new believers and make disciples, this is our commission. pickledilly
Jesus is the Way to God because it is only through Him that we can approach God. In our sin and iniquity we are unfit and unholy before God, which means we are unacceptable for relationship with Him and unworthy of heaven. There is no remedy for this condition except the atoning blood of Christ that has been given and accepted as the only deliverance from our sin. He has become the Gate we must enter and the Path we must follow in order to come to Father God. To follow Him as the Way means that we don’t look to any other person or ideology in our search for God. There are no optional routes. We must seek only to know Him, which comes through studying/meditating on His Word, spending time in communication with Him through prayer, and yielding ourselves to the work of His Spirit that lives within us. A determined focus on knowing and following Jesus is the way we will see and be given access to the Father. Jesus is the Truth of God because (1)He is God and (2)God is Truth. All that is authentic, trustworthy, perfect, and real comes from who He is. His whole earthly life was a declaration of Truth as generations of prophecies about His coming and His life were meticulously fulfilled. Every sign He gave and miracle He did validated His identity and every word He spoke as Truth. Jesus spoke only what the Father told Him to say, so He only spoke truth (12:49-50). And the fact that the Father resurrected Jesus from death to eternal life proves the truth that He is the Son of God who took our just punishment for sin (Galatians 3:13). For us and our world, this means that there is only one way to know what is authentic, trustworthy, perfect, and real – and that is through knowing Jesus and His Word. Jesus is the Life of God because (1)as Creator, He is the source of life in all that has been made (1:3-4) and (2)as Resurrected Redeemer, He alone is the source of eternal life (11:25-26; 1John 5:11-12). As we live our lives and share truth with others, we must have the perspective that we were created and are sustained by God. It’s only in humbling ourselves to this truth that we can really live the abundant life He has designed for each of us (10:10). And it’s only in embracing this truth that we can have the hope and assurance of spiritual life with Him eternally in heaven (12:25). Jesus is the Way to go to God, the Truth to know of God, and the Life that flows from God. Jesus only!

grace2free
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? Jesus is the righteousness, the holiness, the atonement for our sin, and the gate. So becoming Jesus alike will lead us to the way to the kingdom of God. What does it mean to “follow Jesus”? To do what Jesus have taught, to be holy,to be righteous, to be his disciples. In what sense is Jesus in himself God’s Truth? All the words that Jesus had said are true, and it all came from the Father the true God. Nobody else can do that except Jesus. He is authentic and divine. The doctrines of Jesus are nothing more than the representation of facts that they exist in the government of God. The lifeof Jesus is the truth. What are the implications of this for us and our world? God's plan and purpose is for us to be in his kingdom. So the way is to be Christlike. In what sense is Jesus God’s Life? I am the resurrection and the life (John 11:25), in him was life (John 1:4) No man can obtain any of these things except by the merits of the Lord Jesus Christ. By coming by him is meant coming in his name and depending on his merits. How does this affect us and those we speak to about him? Because of Jesus we have known where we are going, and that is to God's kingdom and we also have an everlasting life. Those whom we speak to and believed in him will also have what were having. Stanley Tavaziva
This is one of the most basic and important passages in Scripture. How can we know the way to God? Only through Jesus. Jesus is the way because he is both God and man. By uniting our lives with his, we are united with God. God's plan and purpose is for us to be in his kingdom. We need to trust Jesus to take us to the Father, and all the benefits of being God’s child will be ours. Jesus says he is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this way is too narrow. In reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world chooses to accept it. Instead of worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one way, we should be saying, “Thank you, God, for providing a sure way to get to you!”

John 3:16 tells us the way and the truth, He is the only way. No other! When we truly believe, we are gently taken forward in trials and challenges to remember to help others, pray for them and for God to prevail and help all of us do the right thing. And to follow His will every moment that we can. Jesus as a man form is/was God's life on earth. There is in reality nothing more important than to know Him, trust Him and seek Him more, and to flow like a river to be more like Him in the moment. Not just comfort, but joy to serve as we see things in front of us. What a blessing, what a joy, to know more and follow better.
Joe_Applegarth
In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? Jesus made unequivocal declarations that very clearly reveal him to be exactly who he said he was, the Son of the Living God! Not only did he tell us that the only way to God was through him, he also told us that he was one with God. Peter very clearly reiterated this for us in Acts 4:12 that “Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name given under heaven by which we must be saved.” He not only said these things, he showed us exactly what he meant when he went to the cross to be the one and only savior for human sin. The road to our salvation is found in none other than Christ Jesus. What does it mean to "follow Jesus"? A true follower (disciple) of Jesus is one who believes beyond a shadow of a doubt that He is exactly who he claims to be and that He is the source of everything we’re seeking. The road to salvation is a life-long journey that requires a passionate love for God, compassion (and love) for our fellow man, humility and forgiveness. Following Jesus means doing everything in our power to emulate him through our worship, lots of prayer, diligently studying his word and by listening doing everything that he expects us to do. Every aspect of our lives must be a positive reflection of the things that we’ve learned as we follow Jesus personally. In what sense is Jesus in himself God's Truth? The Word of God is truth personified and John put it best when he wrote: “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning.” What we are is human; what we are not is Jesus Christ and it’s impossible for us to live the perfect life that Jesus lived. We can never be perfect as He was so we must put all of our faith in Christ Jesus as we face our daily responsibilities and interactions with others just as Jesus would, knowing full-well that when we fall short, He will be right there to pick us up and put us back on the right track. Old Jerry
Jesus is the only way to God. If we follow Jesus and believe in him he is our advocator and will stick up for us when we face the Judgement seat. Jesus and God are one and therefore is the truth. If we follow him he is the one that we can dump our troubles on and make this world a whole lot better place to be in. This makes us want to speak about him all the time. Godswriter
Jesus is the way because He died for our sins on the cross of Calvary and was the only sacrifice that was sufficient enough to do it. It means to believe in Him and and His work on the cross and also be willing to do what He says and obey Him. Jesus is Truth because Jesus and God are one in the Trinity and they are truth. The implications for us is that we can follow Him and learn to lean upon Him and trust Him with everything we are dealing with instead of fighting against Him and make the world a better place. It causes us to speak up about Christ.
Jonathan Edwards
.Q)I have been meditating on these verses for most of the day. My thoughts are so limited; I take refuge in the precious wounds of Christ Jesus my Saviour. Christ is the Way. Christ alone is the new and living way (Hebrews 10:20). Christ's flesh was rent on my behalf so I can have access to the Holiest; I can boldly approach God due to Christ the Paschal Lamb and High Priest. Christ is the door (John 10); any other person proposing another way is a thief and a robber (John 10:1). Christ alone is ALL AND ALL. John Calvin succinctly stated that he who possesses Christ, lacks nothing. Christ is not just a forerunner like Moses and Joshua; Christ is our Joshua who has ascended to his Father; we are seated in heavenly places ! Christ's flesh was rent on my behalf so I can have access to the Holiest; I can boldly approach God due to Christ the Paschal Lamb and High Priest. Christ is the Truth; none will enter heaven unless they believe His words. Christ alone is the substance of all revealed truth of God (John 5:46-47). He is the Revelation of the Father (John 1:18). In Christ are all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge )(Colossians 2:3). Now that Christ has been glorified;: we can partake of that knowledge (John 17:3). Certainly other religious groups like Theosophy, Religious Science and Unity, including the Unitarian Universalists have all failed in grasping John 14: 1-14. Christ is another emanating or holy prophet for these followers. Sad but true--those in nominal churches have not grasp that Christ alone is ALL AND ALL. Many are like St Thomas---they have lingering doubts about the promises of Jesus Christ. Christ is the Life. The Truth points us to Christ as the Prince of Life (Acts 3:15); Christ alone gives eternal life to us (John 17:1); we will live because Christ lives (John 14:19). According to Colossians 3:3-4 we will appear with Him in glory because we our lives are hidden IN CHRIST. Christ is the LIVING WAY (Hebrews 10:20). Christ is ALL AND ALL (John6:57; 11:25). We have such an incentive for Holy living. Only through Christ and his merit can I be reconciled to the Father due to Christ's atonement : only by faith in Christ's finished work. We enter the Door--Christ the Way. We follow Christ the Truth--we hear his voice. We follow Christ the Life; we abide in the Vine. Christ laid down his life for his sheep (John 10:10,15). Just today I was reading Ezekiel 33. Prophet Ezekiel preached about those who are going straight ahead to perdition. Ezekiel was called to be a watchman; he was on the GO. So I am ever more convicted to be going via highways and byways to preach the Gospel. This sublime doctrine of predestination is like the ocean deep; oh to be called before the foundations of the world---to be a child of God. Irmela
Q2. (John 14:6) In what sense is Jesus the Way to God? What does it mean to "follow Jesus"? In what sense is Jesus in himself God's Truth? What are the implications of this for us and our world? In what sense is Jesus God's Life? How does this affect us and those we speak to about Him? Paul tells us, "Through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit" (Ephesians 2:18). The writer of Hebrews speaks of "a new and living way" that gives us access into God's very presence (Hebrews 10:19-20). Jesus spoke of himself as "the gate" through which his sheep enter into salvation (John 10:9). To say that Jesus is "the Way" is to affirm that he is the path to God. The above excerpt is taken from the notes. To get to God we need to be cleansed from sin. The only way to be cleansed and set free from sin is through the Blood of Jesus Christ. So in this way we can see that He is the Way to God. To follow Jesus is to lay aside doing ones own thing and to live as He would have us live. Jesus is the Word, the Logos, the exact Expression of God himself, the One Who speaks the Words of God. God is Truth. Jesus says, "If you hold to my teaching, you are really my disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free." (8:31-32) So we see Jesus is The Truth. We are to hold onto His Words, which are Truth, without Him there is no real truth. Remember satan is the father of lies. In him there is no truth. In John's Gospel the first chapter, John goes to great lengths explaining that Jesus is the Word of God Who was there in the beginning of creation. "Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. In Him was life, and that life was the light of men." (1:3-4) Jesus brings eternal life. So from that we see that, He is the very source of life -- both physical life as Co-Creator, but eternal life as well. so we can say Jesus is The Life. So if we want Life we need to accept and follow Jesus Christ Who is the Life and we can offer this same Life to others who otherwise have no life and are facing a Christless eternity, viz., death.
