Q1. Christ's coming

Recommended Posts

The judgement day keeps me with an undivided mind. It gives me a hope that finally one day i will see my saviour and live with him in eternity in a life full of joy love and peace in unity. It should inspire self control and soberness which that i may not be taken up by worldly things and be able to distinguish wrong from right. When we don't expect Christ to come soon we tend to loose focus and feel like pleasing our flesh desires at that time because we feel it is still far for God to return and we still have enough time to repent which may not be true.

Q1. (1:13) What about Christ's coming should get our undivided attention? Why should it inspire hope? Why should it inspire self-control and soberness? What happens in our lives when we don't really expect Christ to come soon?

What should give our undivided attention about the second coming of Christ is our salvation! The importance of eternal life to our souls cannot be overemphasized! We need to consider the implications off and off not a gaining about salvation. With the second coming of Christ we will experience our time when -when Thy will will be done on Earth as it is in heaven. It is a time when the wolf will lie down with the lamb. It is a time for which Christians have been waiting 2000 years. It is with joy that we will experience the second coming of Christ.

The second coming of Christ is our hope off hopes. It will be a wonderful time. This writer is convinced that the second coming of Christ comes in a duel fashion. Firstly when we die on normal physically death then Christ will be standing at the right hand of God as he was for Steven- the book of Acts 7:56. This will be for all those who have died the first second coming of Christ, if they are Christians. Secondly there will be the second coming off the day of the Lord when the Lord will return as Paul as described in 1st Corinthians 15.

When we don't expect Jesus to come soon there is always the possibility of saying I will repent later of this but never get around to it. But the threat of the imminent Second Coming comma possibly I should say with the promise of the imminent Second Coming a person tends, along with their self-control and self control and soberness to live their lives in Christ in such a way they are Sanctified by the Lord.

I believe our attention should be in preparation. To prepare ourselves for Christ's coming. To hear the words well done my child. That's where my undivided attention is.

It's a hope of an inheritance that is far beyond my imagination.

I believe it inspires us to be like Him with self-control and soberness. So we will be ready so we will be prepared. So we can be good examples. When we don't expect him to come soon we're sloppy and carnal.

Being ready, living a life of holiness and looking forward to His coming.

It inspires hope that according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, 5Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

It inspires self-control and soberness in that we need to be ready at his coming and living a godly life

When we don't expect Christ's coming we live sloppy, things creep in and we start living our lives for ourselves

Jesus second coming should inspire us to check ourselves and live holy life because when we are worthy in His eyes them only He is going to accept us in His kingdom.

As we know this home in this world is not permanent but we have a permanent eternal home to live with God for ever and ever without tears, pain or any kind of worry and agony this hope should inspire us.

And to be with our Lord it should inspire us to be in self control  of doing what is righteous and not, not falling back again and again into the sin but being sober in trans and not prepared to his calling being blameless and pure.

When are not awake and alert in our lives expecting Him, His second coming will be like a thief coming at an unexpected time so be should not wait for tomorrow but repent and purify our hearts and souls and be ready to expect Him any moment,  He said that He is going to come quickly, those who are prepared and ready He will take them along and others will be left behind.

To live holy lives knowing we will be judged by the deeds of our body.

Hope--of a reward--seeing Jesus face to face  eternal life!

We live less holy lives and often are not prepared for His return.

a.  Despite our abject conditions because of sin, God shows his great mercy through the waiver of our sins when he sent son to die as a penalty for the sins that deserve punishment for.  He gives us rebirth to become his children.  This rebirth-salvation he now preserves.

b.  It is therefore our obligation to believe-have faith that what God has done for us is real and dependable.

a.  The coming of Christ is the hope and final prove of our salvation because when he fails to come then Christianity is a failure.  Our hope for salvation will be fruitless.  Our sins will remain unforgiving.

b.  It should inspire hope because it consummates our final salvation; we will be rewarded for our faith; Christ will be glorified; God will inspect our work; He will prove the righteous and crown them, and He will give you restoration, str4egth, confirmation and stability. (1:5-9, 17; 2:12; 4;5; 5:4, and 5:10).

c.  Christ's second coming should inspire self-control, soberness because the one who cannot control himself is not fit for the kingdom of God.  A drunkard who  is not sober will either destroy other people's property  or destroy himself.  Those who  await this second coming must be sober and self-controlled.

d.  Our lives will remain an affront to God.  We will continue to do what we feel like.

The coming of Christ should get our undivided attention if we live each day with this in view.  At Christ coming the promises of eternal life will be realized, the inspection of our ministry and fruits will be rewarded.  This is a day that all born again children of God look forward to, as He promise so shall it be.  This should inspire in us self-control and soberness because the day and the hour is not in our hands so we should be sober in our ministering and expect Christ coming to be imminent.  However, we we live in an unexpectant state we fall short of giving God glory in our day to day living.

His Christ coming should have our undivided attention because this is what we were looking forward to, to go with him.                                                                                                                                       It inspire hope because we know that we dwell with him forever away from all this struggling in this world.                                                                                                                                                     It should inspire self control and soberness because we have to keep our in tune knowing that he is coming, so we have to be prepare and not getting prepare.                                                        When we do not expect Christ to come soon,we can easily relax and forget what we are really here for, and go back to the world and get caught up in the things of this world.

Christ's second coming should get our undivided attention because of the accompanying grace that be with His arrival.  This should inspire us to live a more hopeful, generous lifestyle free from anxiety because His arrival ends all worldly suffering.  When we don't expect the return of Christ, worry set's in as well as longer-term plan which brings troubles of its own.
